    Good morning!! I just read your post and had to let you know I am 57. Had VGS 5/2012. After losing 124#, I do have loose skin in my arms, tummy, thighs and butt. After working out diligently for 1 year 5-6 times per week, I am at 28% body fat with BMI of 28 and at 195# pounds which is great at 5' 9". I wear Spanx and compression wear whenever I care about the loose skin. But most of the time, it doesn't even bother me. Good luck with your journey!! It's totally worth it to me. I can't imagine life at 320# anymore, I love being able to play with my grand babies ages 3, 2 1/2 and 2!!!

    Well, I finally got a referral to a new Gyne!! My PCP feels its just a hormonal thing, zilch Estrogen, hence zilch vaginal lubrication. I hope she is right!! And GT I'm sure technique had something to do with it too...hence, he's out of my picture!! Gotta get it together...got this new body, this new life, a new job...need the man now. And of course, pain free sex!!

    My VGS was done 5/09/2012, I have maintained my goal weight since April. I workout with weights and trainer 3 days a week along with a 30 minute cardio workout on stationary bike doing the mountain riding programs all out. I do Water aerobics, swim laps 2-3 days a week. Lets just say I'm very active. To the point I don't even consider exercise as exercise, but just fun!!
    To the point....we did a body fat analysis today at the gym and I went from 41% to 28% in the last 6 months!!!!

    I like the chocolate Body Fortress at Walmart. It runs about 18.99 for the large tub Iadd 2 tbsp of PB2 and 1 tbsp Chia seeds...yum.

    I just got around to reading this thread and I want to thank you for posting that website link!! I look in the mirror and sometimes do not recognize myself. 123# less. But for some reason I still think I am still out of proportion. Now I know I am not!! The 5'9" 190 girls all look great. And that's me, too!! How exciting!! I sometimes wonder when my best will be good enough? We are so hard on ourselves.

    I developed extensive blood clots from my hips to my calves 10 days after surgery and spent 1 week in the hospital. I gained 20# in Water from the swelling. I weighed more than I weighed before the pre-op diet!! All I could do is wait for the IV diuretics to bring down the swelling, then I went into dehydration..it was not a good experience. I was off work 2 months and could barely walk until 1 week before I went back to work. The hospital where I work had to give me handicapped parking and rest periods every hour so I could elevate my legs!!!
    Now, 3 months later, I've lost 72#, I'm walking to employee lot again , I'm biking, taking yoga, swimming laps, and so much more!!
    If you would have asked me how I felt about WLS 3 months ago, I would have poo-poo'ed it!! Today I am happy I did it. My left leg still swells by the end of the day and I am taking Coumadin for the rest of my life, they found out I have a clotting disorder...But like I said, life is grand!!

    I guess it's gonna be a small pillow. And maybe J Lo butt implants in the future, lol.
    Hopefully an aisle seat will enable me to get up and move around a little, too. I do have history of blood clots in both legs so moving around a little is a must and wearing my compression socks. Just can't wait to get there!! I'll be in Okinawa 1 month, praying for no typhoons!!

    I can only speak for myself but, I am very happy with my VGS!! No regrets now at 11 months and 112# off. However, I did have complications the first 2 months and wondered whether I had done the right thing. Never true regret. Never posted any regrets, either.
    I am Kim and yes, I am a recovering compulsive overeater. I have gone to OA, so I know that there tools to use to get thru food cravings and abnormal feelings toward food. Also, I lost 96# of my 200 I needed to lose on my own while I researched the VSG and waited for insurance approval. Also had to save money for it. So, I guess I've never looked at it as a quick fix/magic cure for obesity. I'm just so darned happy to have my health back, look amazing, feel great!! I have a very busy social life, too. Plus, I still see a therapist to talk to about my WLS journey, the same therapist who gave me his blessing pre-op. I feel sorry for those who have regrets. If there is anyone out there who needs a WLS friend to talk to private message me.

    Palm Desert here. Sleeved May 9, 2012...almost 1 yr. 119# off...13 more to go.
    Surgery was in Palm Springs with Dr Ramy Awad!!! Love him!!

    Made it to Onederland!! 196 today and at 192 I will have lost 200# from my highest weight. I've lost 121 since sleeved May 9, 2012...Life is GOOD!!!
