  1. When I had my lapband removed I wore size 14 from the little girls dept.. I don't plan on getting back there, but I have a boatload of size 2 and 4 that are my goal. They're less than 18 months old so I'm excited to shop my own closet! Right now, I'm living in my old sweatshirts and borrowed jeans
  2. Good job! You're so encouraging .. Thanks or sharing
  3. That's a good six weeks out.. You will weigh less and you won't over eat! I'd do it and use the cruise as a celebration. You should be well healed and if you stick with eating right with a vengeance you will be fine at that point. You're dr must agree, too? Of course, it's probably not worth the price youre paying, but if like I said, you're celebrating then it's priceless
  4. Only thing that gets me like that is a carb crash!
  5. Oh how sad. Prayers and thoughts to his family.. Hope for quick comfort
  6. I just heard on tv yesterday that a study showed that beer doesn't cause beer bellies! Of course you'll never guess who did the study.. Some huge world wide beer company! LOL, I can't remember which one, but it cracked me up I know what you mean about wanting it though. I used to have a couple glasses of wine with dinner and miss it.
  7. You look amazing! Good job! Are you returning to Trish for your plastics?
  8. The hospital there is just amazing isn't it? I was very impressed.. It was like a five star hotel!
  9. You will in time. You're still swollen from surgery and eventually your intake will increase. Meanwhile, enjoy seeing the lbs come off
  10. OMG.. Gmanbat, You probably heard me gasp all the way from Washington to Florida when I watched that!!
  11. No one says anything to me either. Most likely, because I still wear the same sweatshirt and jeans as before. I'm a hider until I feel comfortable in showing myself. Also could be the fact, that I'm so known to be a yoyo'er all my life.. They're all used to seeing me go down.. And then up! I'll have to surprise them with keeping it off and then they'll say some thing.. Maybe, lol
  12. I am a child lover. My entire life evolves around children. My education, my career, my life, etc. with that said, I have the utmost respect for people who make the choice to not have children. You know what's best! I admire that. I wish more people would actually think about it first. Good for you! Personally, I would much prefer people that decide they don't want kids than to people who have kids and not want them On a side note.. Hehe, I didn't have I motherly instinct in my body, mind or soul until I held my first born.
  13. Nah.. This subject and a few others are like cheese and seem to survive mold growth.. Just scrap the mold off and get into it again
  14. My doc said two weeks and when you need to pick the child up make sure youre sitting and then put him on you lap and then stand up. This lessens the strain on your abdomen and puts it more on our knees
  15. Heck, I'll be with my husband forever since I spent all the money on my gazillion weight loss surgeries.. I can't afford $&!? Let alone a divorce
  16. I sincerely understand your choice for keeping your wls to yourself.. But wow that's a tough question. Maybe you should ask your barbaric doc and then it probably depends on how long between surgeries as to what he will advise. I'm interested in the answer also.
  17. There are some here that have mentioned divorce, but I don't think it's the wls alone. I'd be willing to bet there had to be some serious deep seated issues brewing to begin with. 90%?!?!? Huh? Can't be that high.. Say it ain't sooo! Maybe it's 90% survive and 10% don't?
  18. I hope you are extremely proud.. What a difference! You look so happy, too
  19. A lot of us MX patients took home packets that included an image of our removed stomach and DVD of surgery. I haven't viewed mine and can't even remember where I put it. I've seen others and it's pretty interesting.
  20. Congrats on you hard work. I don't think you should totally ignore their viewpoint. When I had the band I lost my weight and not one time did I see myself skinny. When I got under 124 my son mentioned that I looked gross like Nicole Ritchie. He was right. (eventually, down to 104 because of the band complications, but that's another story) I would let your nut and/or doc help you with what is a healthy goal. Being overweight the most of our lives we tend to always view ourselves as being fat no matter what we weigh. Even when we're sexy as hell at a higher weight. My goal is set as a max I can strive for, but I will be happy at 130
  21. Does the doc who diagnosed your kidney infection know you were just sleeved? Someone should be concerned with your hydration and be monitoring you very closely. Did they rule out a leak when they ruled in your kidney infection? Contact your dr.. This isn't a minor concern
  22. The more you move the faster you heal. Your pain meds will also contribute to constipation so may want to wean yourself off and walk walk walk. Good luck and welcome to the losers side of things
  23. Very encouraging.. Good job!
