  1. Wow! Nice job.. You look like a teenager!
  2. I was fine with stairs. My house is multilevel, but... Everyone is different after this surgery.
  3. Oops.. Sorry B&B, I must have been writing while you posted the final (hopefully) posty
  4. I sure wish I could have lost my weight by just getting sleeved like a few of y'all claim. Personally, I've had to stop eating food I love, count calories, carbs, and YES, WORK MY ASS OFF at the gym. People see the work I do and perhaps this is why no one has ever asked me the rude questions y'all seem to be asked ..
  5. I'm not hiding anything and you really need to watch the way you word things or once again people are going to take offense. Obviously, because just a few agree with you it's ok to continue to make judgement.. Once again? Enough already. *shakes head.. And sighs!*
  6. I don't think being called a liar is being nice, but at the same time I answered a question and backed it up. It's a discussion and I opined
  7. Yep, you are well prepared when you leave. Trish gives you a huge gift basket og goodies you'll need which includes meds too.
  8. I order soup or off child/senior menu and get a doggy bag if needed. My son usually eats what I bring home. Nobody is so rude to ask me anything. My extended family just thinks I'm on one of my gazillion diets.. AGAIN, and never say anything
  9. Highly recommend him and if you search his name you will find a lot of info about him. Trish is awesome and my daughter is going with them this fall. Absolutely the best decision I made and so pleased with the entire deal
  10. Wow.. ! Good job and you look amazing and I bet you feel that way too!
  11. Like I said, tell her come here for needed support. If she is becoming withdrawn or frustrated then others who have kept it private can relate. Although, as far as I know none of us have any regrets about the way we handle our privacy, but nonetheless we can support her in her choice
  12. No and I'm sorry you read it as if we're being harsh, but like I said, she plainly stated she doesn't understand why some choose not to tell others. (well, ok.. She actually called us liars) but ... oh well. So we told her why, but she apparently doesn't like our answer so we try to keep explaining so that perhaps she can comprehend the reason some of us, (including her "friend"), prefer to keep our WLS to our selves. It's quite simple
  13. You're assuming. Hopefully you don't fuel their gossip. She obviously wants to keep it quiet Please feel free to introduce her to this forum.. Seems to be quite a lot of support here that she may need.
  14. And BTW OP.. This is a public forum. You asked a question and some of us answered, but apparently you don't like our answer. So you call us names? Please, play nicely
  15. How do they know she's lying? Unless ... someone told them?
  16. True, just as its your problem not others. If I were her and read what you've written... I would question our friendship. I sincerely hope, in real life, you support her wholeheartedly and try not being so negative and judgemental about her choices. You're good friends and WLS is a life changing journey and to be able to go on it with a buddy is a huge bonus
  17. I don't think you understand what you have said here. Yes, she did too lose the weight by cutting carbs, calories, portions and working out! There's no other way to do it. WLS isn't magic any more than using a treadmill is. The goal is the same it's just the tool that differs. No one should be questioning her loss.. Anyone on an daily intake of 500-900 calories will lose the same with or without WLS. I don't think you need to worry about her or sadly, be embarrassed for her. Besides, who knows, maybe she's embarrassed of your actions.
  18. Welcome and congrats on your journey of a new healthy life
  19. And people.. Please stop insinuating that we are embarrassed, selfish, ashamed or worse.. We don't have close friends!?! Seriously? ... Really?!? My WLS does not dominate my daily life. I am (we) are not LYING about anything and not telling others is not selfish, fact, (sorry if i step on toes or egos) I think it's more self centered to think everyone wants to know all about you and your WLS. I agree, PdxMan.. the topic is well covered.
  20. I lost 5lbs with the flu and after a several week stall I didn't care if it was fat, muscle, or dead skin
  21. I was walking several laps every 15 minutes. I was hoping they would just tell me to go home. I was really needing to get my new life going. Plus I was angious to get out to go shopping and sightseeing and to the beach... Which I did
  22. Everyone has their own feeling and strong opinions about who needs to know what about themselves. I didn't tell and don't plan on disclosing my personal issues with others. Just like I didn't tell others (even though very proud of him), I don't go around telling others about my husband vasectomy. Nor do I tell others about my surgery for a prolasped uterus due to (proudly), having 3 ten pound babies. I also didn't tell others about a wart I had removed from my butt when I was in jr high.. Oh and I don't tell people my front tooth is fake, due to a friend pushing my face into a water fountain when I was in fourth grade. I'm not ashamed of anything I do or have. I just think its no ones business or for the fact... others probably don't give a $ H I T anyway!
