  1. All addicts do it for the pleasure it gives them. Gambling, smoking, eating, drugs alcohol etc.
  2. LOL.. I'm too sleepy to get overly precise.. So either I can answer with, no or y'all can continue and I'll catch ya on the flip side (-.-) nigh'tal
  3. Whoa.. Sorry for the errors in my response. Need to proof read next time
  4. Not many all substance a abusers or addicts steal, commit felonies either.. But most addicts do lie, if not to others .. Always to themselves
  5. No clue how why or what set things off :-/
  6. LOL.. I tell my girls too! I don't discriminate
  7. As long as I'm a loser ... that's all I care about. Yes, it's been slow, but I'm not going to stray from the healthy eating habits I plan on continuing for the rest of my life. My wls journey is a life long weight loss not a race to my goal weight loss
  8. I tell them, "I hope you choke" I laugh it off. I'm lucky it doesn't bother me and I don't really notice what others eat. Try to remember how healthy you're becoming and too bad for him... But maybe he will want to become healthier by seeing what it does for you
  9. Pre-surgery I usually had a couple glasses of wine after work. I've had a few post-op, but my main reason I don't is because of the weight gain or no loss it gets me into. When I get to my goal I'm going to (try to) continue focusing on my weight and go light on alcohol. Maybe if you focus on your goal it will help. I love my wine and miss it a lot. My friends and I belong to the "wine of the month" club.. Ugh!
  10. Fractured ribs three seperate times. Surgery is nothing.
  11. If they aren't addicted why do they allow it to happen? If you didnt eat too much or the wrong things and youre aware you are getting fat.. Why not just stop? If you lost all your weight why turn back to eating wrong.. Unless you want to be fat again.. Unless of course you have no control over what you put in your mouth etc. Addiction is the continued use of a substance or behavior despite adverse consequences.
  12. *stands up My name is Kristine and I am a recovering food addict *sits down I am NOT in denial and I feel sorry for those who can't admit they have a problem BEFORE wls. Waiting to overcome your denial makes the weight loss journey much more difficult.. Kuddos to you Laura... We're on the same page
  13. Could be they're being stretched and this is normal process as things adjust. Always check with your doc if you continue to have issues
  14. I don't recall my weight when I made this challenge so I'll just say.. 27lbs to go!
  15. Have a son... Who eats anything and everything!
  16. I or my lab work show no signs or reason to require me to take calcium citrate over the vitafusion I'm currently taking. I don't have an absorption issue so I feel good with what taking ATM. Like said.. Follow docs orders
  17. No. My dr has me on Calcium with vit D http://www.bjs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10201&storeId=10201&partNumber=P_129964138&sc_cid=GPLA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=129964138 But I buy these at Costco
  18. Don't know when your surgery was or what your fluid/nutrient intake is ... so its difficult to answer you.
  19. I buy my chewy gummy vitamins at Costco. Multi and calcium.
  20. Oh my gosh... So happy for you! CONGRTS.. And many many prayers for you!
  21. I wasn't man-mashing and I apologize if anything I said was taken as that. Anything I said could be either man or woman. When I comment on a specific man.. I mean it for that specific man.. Not in general. Trust me.. I'm overly confident that both male and female can be asses .. Equally! I love men. (heh.. You know what I mean)
  22. I had this problem with the labands I had. I was 104lbs without any excess skin removed so I'm assuming I actually weighed less than that. I was never happy. I was dying.. And did. Twice. My journey with the sleeve has to be monitored to the extreme. The difference this time around is I don't have a goal to be thin. And to me, skinny is ugly. My main goal is health and happiness. Im tired of the pian and health problems associated with weight. Don't get me wrong.. I'm not doing this alone. I have a personal weight/nutritionist therapist that monitors me...plus she's my friend and we do everything together.
  23. It is safe. Just like in any big city there are specific area you stay away from. ( yes, this is a year old, but I'm not a speechless kind a gal)
  24. Hey.. I tried to say spouse when I could... But, but ...LAURA pointed out the "he" in a specific story so.. Well, it's Laura's fault
  25. Perhaps, like my husband, yours is afraid and has a poor way of expressing how he feels. Most guys (not all) are spastic when it comes to communicating their deep loving feeling of concern. My husband ... totally failed at communicating his concern for me. He was concerned not of failure, but because he feared I was getting myself into something dangerous again. WLS and all surgeries come with possible complications and possible death. You need to deepen your search into why your spouse is reacting this way and include him in everything you know
