  1. Lol.. I agree! I know exactly what made me fat and it wasn't fruit!
  2. I am not a dr, but I have had this problem also. So badly, I've been to the ER because I couldn't move and had to work. It's caused from the Sciatic nerve which I am guessing we irritate with either using or moving our back differently than before. Check into it with dr or google it and see if this is perhaps the issue you are experiencing
  3. DO NOT GET THE BAND. I was banded twice and down to near 100lbs.. Lucky me... NO, I was dead and had to be revived twice amongst the several urgent hospitalizations, monthly blood transfusions and weekly iron infusions. If you're into death experiences and wasting 100 grand go for it
  4. Heh.. Can't remember if I posted on this Dec sleever post, but I am Dec 14th w/ Dr J. Ponce De Leon in TJ
  5. I've asked the same thing a few times and haven't had anyone speak up. It may be they just moved on. I did that when I got my lapband. After a year I didn't find any reason to continue the forum because I was fine on my own. Hope some one comes around and helps us. I guess this is a good point for us to take and make sure we are around in a few years for others.
  6. (Kind of an opposite question)This brings up a problem I always feel when I meet someone who has lost weight. What do I say? " oh you look so good, nice, pretty etc.." What... as if they weren't before? I find it very awkward. I guess I could say, "good for you!", but then I don't want to embarrass them. Maybe it's because it bothers me when other bring attention to me when I lose a lot of weight. I don't like it.. I like to gloat inside, not flaun it.
  7. Dec 14 here.. Date can't get here soon enough!
  8. 5'3" (if I take a deep breath 190 lbs. surgery is Dec 14, Dr Ponce De Leon. And I hate buying pants. Only time I didn't have a problem was when I was 124 lbs last year. ( with lapband). I'm currently wearing borrowed jeans because I refuse to buy any clothes at my current weight. I have a ton of skinny clothes barely a year old. My surgery can't get here soon enough. I don't even have a winter coat and have been going out and freezing... May have to go to thrift store for temp solution lol Being fat sucks!
  9. Mine is Dec 14. I'm shopping online and hoping to take advantage of family time ;D
  10. When we first got married my husband commented that he hates when people call each other dear so from that day on I've always called him Elk.... lol, to each his own I guess ;D
  11. Hmm.. I'm a teacher with small children and I'm only taking my Christmas break of 2 1/2 weeks off. I've had 2 lapband surgeries and 2 emergency removals and returned within a week or so on all of them. Hope this is similar and doable when I'm sleeved on the 14 of Dec
  12. ABSOLUTELY! I am an addict and I will admit it. When I am off carbs (when I do manage to get there) I don't crave or desire extra food. But once I cave, I'm back to my addiction. I have a glass a wine with my evening meal, but to be honest.. I could really drink another and enjoy it. After reading the OP it's scared me into not even wanting one glass now. I'm being sleeved Dec 14 and no alcohol for me until I reach my goal... And maybe not even then Traceyh... Please don't go this dangerous route of thinking surgery will help you at this point.
  13. Heh... You've had three kids.. This surgery should be a piece of cake! Except for the restriction for lifting any weight (ie:kids) I think you'll be surprised how easy this will be.
  14. Dec14 w/Dr Ponce De Leon. So nervousexcited!
  15. You can do it when the time comes. We all can! We are not happy being fat regardless as to what fat is to us, let it be 150 lbs on a 4 foot body or 400lbs on any body. It sucks and we all have to DO IT! My date is set in stone for Dec 14 th yippee!
  16. Dr Rod was my dr twice. Once in Acuna and once in Juarez. I highly recommend him. My issues with the band had nothing to do with the surgeons or care received in MX. I'm getting sleeved by Dr Ponce De Leon only because I fear the Juarez area now. Dr Rod does come to TJ, but not often enough for my schedule. The hospital and care in Juarez is equal to a 5 star hotel. Dr Rod and stafff are excellent. I can't recall if I went through Beliteweight. My first cord was Barbra and the second time I went directly through Dr Rod. Good luck
  17. Heh.. I think you're close enough to Dec to be part of us still.. Besides most of your recovery will be right with us.
  18. Those would sure solve a lot of issues.. Hope it's a good thing
  19. I've had two surgeries in MX and truly and very honestly trust their care. My daughters have also had surgery there. The only downside that I consider is the travel. Fishy, I'm very interested in statistics if you know where I can get them.. I've often wondered how the stats compare between countries including, Canada. Thanks
  20. Perhaps someone should mention the fact that there are many misfortunate surgery outcomes in the US also. Hmm... heresay and family opinion without facts or personal experience makes very little credibility in my eyes
  21. My surgery is tentatively set for Dec14th and I am so stressed. I have been banded twice and never thought twice about it. I'm nervoxcited, lol!
  22. Ms.AntiBand commented on julielle's blog entry in hazelsmrf's Blog
    So they have you spend the pre-night in hospital? I will be arriving late night prior to my surgery there also. Hmmm... Prayers and thougts are with you since you're being sleeved as I write this. Gentle {{{hugs}}}
  23. Wondering if anyone has any experience with " my medical loan financing" Thank you
  24. Hah! Look at my ticker.. I've gained 10lbs doing the food funeral thing UGH!
