2 weeks Five days out.....Phase 2 Diet Fears
My SD was Dec 14 and I rarely eat much other than protein shakes and my water. Most of the time I'm not in the mood for food so I just do the shake. When I do have an appetite it's when I'm around others eating things I can't have. The smell is a tease but I don't have a problem not eating. Contining shakes is fine as long as we get the nutrients we need I have sipped soups and have found that toddler food is really good and makes two servings. You've lost 30lbs post surgery? I'm in a stall right now, but I'm patient as long as things get moving before summer :-)

help me understand why get a sleeve at 180?
Oh, and yes.. I'm 5'3" so my BMI was high. Also... I didn't want to wait until I was over 200+ lbs to make a life change to my eating and health.

help me understand why get a sleeve at 180?
I am a yo- yo dieter slowly killing myself by going from 190 to 104 over and over. My dr said I had to stop. I got the band twice and had too many complication but was down to 104 for years then had it removed. Jumped up to 190 again and decided I had to stop or wear my system down to nothing and risk my health each time. I want to be healthy just like every one on this forum.

Food Porn's Gotta Go!
Ironically, out of 8 TV screens at my gym one is on the food network and of course I'm always watching that one! I laugh at myself because I feel like the donkey that has a carrot dangling in front of it! Food porn is my carrot

Why do we candy coat everything?
Fishy didnt sugar coat things, which is fine in my book, but he's took it a step further and was outright rude and directed it to specific people. I wasn't aware that he had been banned because when he made things so personal and mean I stopped follow threads he was posting on. I'm here for support and yes, honest opinion, but I don't need to read arguments and bickering and put downs. If I wanted that I'd watch reality TV!

Dr JC in PVR!
Dr Ponce De Leon. If you search the forum you will read nothing but good things. Besides his excellent care his biggest perk is his coordinator, Trish. We had so much fun. We ran around like teenagers on spring break!

Dr JC in PVR!
I agree! After a lot of research I found many EXCELLENT drs for less cost. Unless you're goal is for a resort dr, but mr surgery was TJ, MX and I would go again.. Fact my daughter is this spring for less than $5000.00.

Tips for how to survive your upper GI (barium swallow)
So sorry you had to go through this the way they did it! I've had many GI barium swallows and I also didn't know about the sweats or yoga pants prior to my first procedure, but I learned. Lucky for me they gave me scrub pants to wear and I was never asked to move around to coat my tummy. My worst part was the gallon ( ok, not a gallon, but it seems like it of barium you have to drink. It doesn't taste bad at all it's just the amount that got me

What Did You Eat At 4 Weeks?
All drs are different in what they direct you in having at specific times. Im allowed soft Soups and anything I can chew to mush, but I just don't have the appetite so I just do the shakes and Vitamins right now.. Occasionally, I sip Soup.

Really not liking this 3 wk stall!
Yep.. 6 years, 2 bands and 100 grand down the drain from horrible complication.. I'm hoping for a new life! I guess I shouldn't be complaining about the temporary stall

I have no problem losing weight.. Problem is I have no problem gaining it either! My dr told me I was slowing killing myself by yo- yo dieting from 190lbs to 104 over and over.. I'm done with that! I spent to many years hating myself when I'm obese. I AM DONE DONE DONE!

care after mexico surgery
All lapband complications. The first time a Local surgeon removed it because I was bleeding death.. Literally! I was so naive I rebanded a couple months later because I was more scared of gaining weight than dying. The second time I Was unconscious when rushed to ER with no BP. The took the band and warned I could never ever have it again. I had the band for 6 ish years and was down to 104 lbs.. Sounds great, but what I hid from family was my weeping iron infusions and monthly blod transfusions. I wish I would have know about the sleeve and I would have done that and NEVER the band

care after mexico surgery
My insurance refuses to pay for any WLS aftercare or related issues... Including urgent care and pre-death. ( I know for a fact because I died twice with the lapband and that was $100 grand out of pocket) My primary dr is great about never mentioning WLS, but if I was ever needing hospital or ER I'm on my own to pay for it

SUTURE REMOVAL
Ditto on what amazon13 said. And no, ckatie one does not need to stay in MX more than 3 days unless there are concerns. On day 3, I was out running around sightseeing, shopping, pedi, mani, Botox etc. I had a blast! Then hung around the pool in TJ. We were scheduled to return to San Diego, but we were having so must fun we stayed an extra day!

I knew it would happen, but I wasn't expecting this! I might be bald soon!
My very thick hair is down to my waist and I've had numerous surgeries including 2 lapband surgeries and huge weight losses and never experienced any hair loss. I wonder if it will be if will be different this time? Hope not

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
Sheesh.. I miss all the excitement! I am clueless as to who y'all are talking about.. But maybe that's best. Frank.. I too had the most wonderful surgery experience and absolutely no regrets. I wanted to leave the next day also but they kept me 2. After that I went sightseeing and shopping all over TJ, MX and had a blast. Never hungry, and never tempted to cheat. Sometimes though, smells make me moan. LOL Good luck every one and onward we work towards our goals!

All of my December sleevers...
Dec 14 down 20lbs. Y'all need to remember that some stalls are due to not enough intake to where the body goes into starvation mode and becomes defensive about letting go of anything. Try try and keep trying to get your required intake of protein.

freezing ?
I was always cold prior to surgery and it's worse now.. My husband said if I get worse we may have to look into living in separate ends of a duplex He hates artificial heat and I'm always sneaking the temp up. Hoody, sweats and big socks in bed and hoody all day long for me.

Weird new pain
It's most likely your sciatic nerve from you sleeping differently or from weight loss and you moving differently now.

Swelling
Hey Angie, I think it must be different from one to another because I was only a bit swollen for a couple days and never noticed any after that. I am also very bruised, but then I bruise very easily anyway. I feel awful about all you've gone through and I wish you a quick recovery from here out. {{ hugs}} Kristine from Seattle
