Just a taste is what got many of us into this mess. Placing our want for food over the health of our bodies. How often were we able to stop at one bite? One bite of each will likely not harm you, thats a question for your surgeon, but should you really be indulging that evil little voice that made you fat in the first place?

It's been a whole year since I took control of my life and had RNY gastric bypass. I've had ups and downs and physical delay after delay(chronic Lupus flares, swollen joints, torn rotator cuff, loss of ability to use my right arm, etc), but here we are! It's been one year and I don't regret it for one moment! I am not where I want to be YET, but I will get there. Here are my stats: hw:429lbs sw:386 cw:220lbs

I am 3 weeks out as well. Struggling also, but I just started adding unflavored Protein to my applesauce and cottage cheese. It has no flavor or taste so very easy to tolerate...good luck!

I had surgery on the 7/11 and was supposed to have my post op on 7/19 but didn't make it cuz I ended up back in hospital.. But long story short I had it today so a little over two weeks.. But I'm down 27lbs.. I notice it in my legs and arms and face but barely in my stomach area even tho I notice it in the way my clothes fit.. Regardless I'm so happy I made the right decision!! Thanks everyone on here for helping me with my journey along the way!!

It takes approximately 3500 calories to gain a pound of fat. So to gain 3 pounds of fat, you would have to eat an extra 10,500 calories.
Water on the other hand doesn't cause you to gain fat, but weighs a lot. So if you retain any of it in your tissue due to swelling, bloating, inflammation, etc., it can cause a "gain" on the scale.

I lost XXX pounds and I didn't even have to have surgery to do it!!
Every time I see/hear it, I can't roll my eyes hard enough! Why does it matter?? Surgery is not the easy way out! You still have to watch what you eat! I am living proof. I just want to say, "so, good for you and stfu"!
    ugh! OK, rant over.

I feel much better than I thought I would! My surgeon said I helped make it easier on my body by losing 46lbs prior to surgery. I would have gone home after just one day but they want to keep a close eye on my blood sugars for an extra day.

My sleeve surgery was such a shock to my system that I went into early menopause at 38 years old. I was hoping the surgery would lead to an opportunity to get pregnant and carry a child to full term, however, it seems like its not in the cards for me. I've decided to focus on the positive aspects of what the surgery has done for me and take advantage of my new healthy life.

I'm 11 July . I just had a horror thought... While they do the surgery are my boobs going to be on display? Do they cover u and just leave the tummy on display? Or is the whole lot on show?

Can I just be clear, Look at my profile and check the posts and responses I make, they are all positive, uplifting, supportive and coming from a warm place. I come on to this forum to build people UP and share this experience with people going through a similar circumstance.

Now I don't know if years after the surgery you become jaded, and a little bit sick of the same questions on this forum but this is new for us, we are learning to walk and find our feet again with this whole process. I will not tolerate this behaviour, vet or not it's bullying in my eyes.

I was told by my doctor I could drink at 6 weeks, I have not deviated from my meal plans, I have lost 43 pounds in 7 weeks.. I'm doing something right. The original poster asked a question about alcohol consumption, I shared my personal experience and said that I haven't had any problems.. Everyone is different, but this is what a forum is about.

What I will not tolerate is newbies posting a question or response and then fearing one of the vets will attempt to embarrass, humiliate, or ridicule them for being new to the process and inexperienced.. We all appreciate your personal journey, and your story.. But it's just that, YOUR story, there are ways to express your concerns without upsetting others. I'm here to support people and spread positivity, it's a shame I can't say the same for a lot of others.
