yeah on making a hard decision to change your life for the better. We will all be on here cheering you on ! Today i am writing down all our names that go into surgery this week and will keep us all in prayer(including myself) ! You will be fine. I try to think of this being a sweet and sour even...kinda like childbirth. You have to go through the bad before you are rewarded with the good. You will have pain but it wont last forever : )
Go through and find some positive feeds to read..keep those in mind. Chek out the before and after pictures : )
God bless you and keep you !

If I was told, I would love Cherry Greek yogurt as much as I loved pizza pre-surgery, I would have laugh. But just like you said, I do!!! I was a bread and pizza addict (4 slices minimum, plus wings, plus breadsticks, plus soda). Now I could care less. Bread makes me feel so bloated after I eat it. And pizza no longer provide me the "happy" feeling from before.
And I love being able to eat, and stop. I no longer have to eat my face off. I used to hate having to eat double the amount of every one else on the table and still want more. At times only shame stop me from going for more.
I love how I can find myself in other people's post. Make me feel less alone.
That is one reason I love this site.

Wow, thanks to everyone for reading my blog. i've never had a blog!! i couldn'd find how to keep entering on it, so i stopped. so here's the update.
Almost finished will all pre-op work. doing labs on thurday. sleeve date is OCT 9th! so excited. I didn;t think that i could do this liquid diet, but so far so good. i have cheated a tiny bit, and someone sscared me by saying that you absolutely cannot have anything besides the liquid diet! something about cleaning out the intestines, but isnt' that what the bowel cleanser is for? i cheated on the second day by eating a small dinner salad. then i cheated again by having restaurant soup, only the soup part, i didnt even eat the veggies, oh and i snuck in a cracker in the soup. i think i've done very good considering the kind of eater i used to be. I also learned that a family friend just got sleeved last week, i talked to her on Saturday and she is doing great. my mom is all for me doing this and helping me with moral support. in fact my two sisters are drinking the protien shakes in solidarity. I am so blessed to have a supportived family. it's hard believe me, i honestly did not think that i could get this far. and oh, the good news, my clothes is alread fitting loosely! i am very excited. i just wish my nutritionist would call me back and tell me that i can have a small salad or a vegatable soup here and there. i only have 5 more days until i start the clear liquid diet, that may be hard. but i can do this, i'm half way through the liquid diet.
thanks again for all the comments and support. i love this forum, it gives me a place to go when i dont want to be around people who are eating!

Ok, it might be prudent to order a book from amazon.com, as there are books that will give you so much information on how to live with your sleeve. Here's one I saw today:
The Sleeved Life: A Patient-to-Patient Guide on Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Weight Loss Surgery [Paperback]
    Pennie Nicola (Author)
But for a quick overview here is some info I think might be helpful:
From 4-6 weeks you should probably still be eating soft foods. Aim for 65 or more grams of protein a day, and 64 oz of fluids and that includes all fluids which should be sugar free. Sample soft menu, high protein foods:
    Breakfast
    Softly cooked eggs
    Cottage Cheese
    Yogurt
    Hot Cereal
    Soft Fruit
    Lunch
    Soups are perfect
Fish - tuna is a great choice
Refried beans with melted cheese/sour cream
    Chili Beans
Soft cooked meats and poultry (crock pot is great for this)
    Soft cooked veggies
    Dinner
Again, soft cooked meats and poultry or fish
    Soft cooked veggies
    Snacks
    Yogurt
    SF jello or pudding
You will probably need to have at least one high protein shake per day to be able to meet your protein needs. I use Pure Protein powder for 25 grams of protein.
    Take a multi-vitamin everyday, and calcium citrate, a B12 sublingual 2 days a week, and a B-complex 50 with thiamin daily.
After 6 weeks, start adding regular meats, chicken and fish, salads and a more normal diet, but start slow and see if you can tolerate.
You can probably eat about 4 ounces or half a cup per meal and eventually 6-8 ounces.
Good luck...and no drinking with meals, wait 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your meals!!
