  1. Hi everyone ! My date is November 9th...I am ready ! I will be 53 on surgery day as its also my birthday! Married with 6 children ,most of whom are grown . I have one child left at home still in high school. I have about 70 pounds to lose. I LOVE November !
  2. So glad everything went well......look forward to hearing from you : )
  3. what is the product called? Im having having surgery next month and am stocking up on stuff now. thanks !
  4. Try buying a new scale : ) Sometimes they do break and still give a reading.....even so, you look awesome !
  5. Sooo excited for you! I said a prayer for you and the doctor that all goes well and that you have an easy time of this.....Be sure and let us know how you are. I look forward to hearing from you.....
  6. Congrats on all the above ! I start my liquid diet in a couple of weeks....starting to worry if will go nuts without solid food.....I just plan on drinking water in-between to keep the hunger pains at bay. What kind of pre op tests did you have? I was signed up for the band and after reading here, decided to go for the sleeve. My Dr. appt is not until the 17th and so I have yet to speak to my doctor about the change. i did get my insurance going on the new surgery though...hope to get my letter soon. I wish you well and have prayed for you already : ) Keep me updated ! I will be waiting to hear from you !!!! You will do well....
  7. Thanks for the information : ) they gave me a Morphine pump when i had my hysterectomy and it worked well for me.....sleeping was my favorite part LOL! Waking up in pain was not fun. i sure hope getting out of the bed comes easier. Gets lots of rest . Hope you have someone to take care of the little ones for you ! I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress : )
  8. What do you recommend taking to the hospital ? Or for the house. I'm stocking up on the protein powder and I hear gas x strips are good : )
  9. Sooo glad to hear you are feeling better ! Thanks for checking in and reporting...please continue to do so. Did they not keep the pain at bay while you were in the hospital? I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and it was way more painful than i expected . I am hoping this surgery is easier...so long as its not worse ..ugh.
  10. I was approved for the band but changed my mind after reading all the post on here..... i would go for it if you can afford it.
  11. Sorry, but no I did not have to lose any first.. You might try the pre op diet to lose the weight..seems like everyone loses on it.
  12. Relax... I think they mostly want to make sure that you don't drink alcohol and stuff like that . I already had mine..they want to see if you are depressed..and if you are that would add to your case for approval. Losing weight helps with depression. We sll have a problem with eating habits...thats why we need the surgery...Hope this cheers you up !
  13. Yeah for you! So glad you are well and it went well. You guys are so brave for going to Mexico ! Especially those of you who went alone.....i probably would have passes out from anxiety : )
  14. It was not a rambling mess ! Thank you for taking the time to fully inform us, I appreciate it so much. I am awaiting my turn. I had originally signed on for the lap band and was approved. After reading all the post, i have changed my mind . I am going for the sleeve.....thanks to people like you who are willing to safe,Im sure I have been spared much trouble and grief. You're awesome!
  15. Yeah, glad to hear from you all! My surgery is on November 9th. I bought two containers of injury protein powder and will be ordering some more here pretty quick ... I think I'll be shopping this weekend for some comfy night clothes. I plan on packing my suitcase as soon as I start the liquid diet. For now I'm reading all the posts do ill be able to ask lots of questions on my next appointment on the 17 of next month. Yeah, next month is but a few days away! Excited and super scared
  16. Hello, i'm looking for others with a surgery date of November. I'm having my surgery done in San Antonio Tx.
  17. Awesome ! Must be so exciting.....I have a bit of waiting to do...30 days and i start my liquid diet. Im actually looking forward to that day for now LOL! Most likely will freak out when the actual surgery day comes...LOL!
  18. I have blue cross BMI of 35 ,high blood pressure, cholesterol and sleep apnea and was approved first time for the lap band, i changed my mind and decided to go for the sleeve....awaiting approval now but i see no problems as the requirements are the same. Check and see if all the proper paperwork was sent in and then ask your doc. to submit it again...
  19. I'm so sorry ! I will keep you and your husband in prayer. Try to give it all to God because he is the one in control anyway. Do what you can and ask Him to help with the rest. I will be praying for smooth sailing tomorrow and super fast healing and an easy recovery for you. I'll be following you to see how you are so post as soon as you can !!! Take care !
