Ok so I am back home and the pain day 1 and 2 was way worse than I expected. I had my husband bring my kids to see me at the hospital the night after my surgery and that is not a good idea if anyone has little ones. I was in so much pain and I scared them. Also for me the liquid hydocodine really burns going down so if you can drink broth first it helps. Today is 48 hours out and I am feeling a little better. Still happy I made this decision but it really does hurt after and I was not prepared for it :(

Sooo glad to hear you are feeling better ! Thanks for checking in and reporting...please continue to do so. Did they not keep the pain at bay while you were in the hospital? I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and it was way more painful than i expected . I am hoping this surgery is easier...so long as its not worse ..ugh.

What do you recommend taking to the hospital ? Or for the house. I'm stocking up on the protein powder and I hear gas x strips are good : )

Gas x strips are good but I couldn't use them in the hospital. I had to have the swallow test first. I just took my phone and Carmex to the hospital. Clean underwear and a dress to wear home.

I forgot to answer about the pain. I had morphine every two hour during which i would sleep then wake up again in two hours for pain

Thanks for the information : ) they gave me a Morphine pump when i had my hysterectomy and it worked well for me.....sleeping was my favorite part LOL! Waking up in pain was not fun. i sure hope getting out of the bed comes easier.

Gets lots of rest . Hope you have someone to take care of the little ones for you ! I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress : )
