  1. Surgery date 9/27 Starting weight 265 Current weight 206 Total loss 59lbs (my 9 year old lol)
  2. I was 9/27 and down 52 today! Great job on all your progress!
  3. Be careful with the slurpees because they are carbonated. I had them about 2 times a week and started feeling really bad. I was so bummed but I saw on the slurpee website that they are carbonated.
  4. I too have Dr. Minkin. I had my surgery on 9/27 and am down 41 lbs from my 1st visit with him. I love Dr. Minkin but have also found the staff rude on the phone. My insurance covered the surgery however I did receive a few bills after from Minkin, anesthesia, and the hospital. They were not bad but I thought it was all covered. My total was almost 30k! Anyway good luck! First few weeks are hard but it gets easier. My care in the hospital was also great but make sure to ask for extra pain meds in the iv. The morphine did not cut it!
  5. Thanks! I hit 72grams today but I am HUNGRY!
  6. Started Zumba today. I have been starving ever since. I had tuna with a slice of cheese for breakfast, then ground chicken with veggies for lunch, 2 protein shakes as snacks and a few crackers. It is only 5pm and I have had more to eat today than any other day.
  7. Hello I had my sleeve on September 27 so today was my one week. I weighed this morning and I am down 26lbs!!!! This includes a 3 day liquid diet but 27lbs in 10 days! Holy sh#t! I am so happy! Totally worth the discomfort.
  8. I battled the same questions. This is a great forum for lots of info. I chose to go for it and get my life back. I am 7 days out and there was definitely pain but it was manageable. Good luck!
  9. Schnuck's is the only store I have seen sugar free. They are made by Luigi's Store Locator www.luigis.com/storelocator.aspx Find Out Where You Can Purchase Refreshing Luigi's Real Italian Ice. Just put Sugar free and your zip code
  10. I found sugar free Italian ice! Delicious but still only 4 baby spoons go down.
  11. Yes going to the bathroom but it is my time of the month and feel very weak. Tomorrow I will start with protein and just keep at all day.
  12. Hi, I am 5 days post op and I am only drinking about 12oz of water and 12 of protein. I am loosing about 2-3 lbs a day! Can my body survive on so little? I f I try to sip anymore than an oz ever half hour I have really bad pain. Has anyone else had this?
  13. Wow I was sleeved on 9/27 and I am nowhere close to that. I can only drink a few sips of protein, water feels like I am swallowing a solid green been going down, and jello is almost impossible. Maybe mine is too tight?
  14. I forgot to answer about the pain. I had morphine every two hour during which i would sleep then wake up again in two hours for pain
  15. Gas x strips are good but I couldn't use them in the hospital. I had to have the swallow test first. I just took my phone and Carmex to the hospital. Clean underwear and a dress to wear home.
  16. Gabby how are you doing?
  17. Ok so I am back home and the pain day 1 and 2 was way worse than I expected. I had my husband bring my kids to see me at the hospital the night after my surgery and that is not a good idea if anyone has little ones. I was in so much pain and I scared them. Also for me the liquid hydocodine really burns going down so if you can drink broth first it helps. Today is 48 hours out and I am feeling a little better. Still happy I made this decision but it really does hurt after and I was not prepared for it
  18. Good luck to everyone! I have to be at the hospital at 10 but I am ready now!
  19. I am excited and scared but ready to go. 10am here I come!
  20. Hang in there! My husband made burgers and fries for dinner for the kids and I thought I would loose it. Just keep thinking big picture:)
  21. I am really nervous. I have had a cough for a week and can't shake it. Do you think they will cancel me?
