  1. Hey November 5 through 9 sleevers ! Can you post something so we can be in touch this week? Are you packed, scared, excited or about to change your mind LOL? Have you had your pre-op visit yet? Lets talk !
  2. Ask for the leak test and DO NOT GIVE UP ! We are here and will support you as best as we can. Get your husband to demand the test... Please
  3. Was wondering what all everyone takes to keep healthy. I have been taking one vitamin and 2 calcium and i just bought a bottle of Biotin to start today. I'm on day 7 of my diet. I drink Propel Zero water ALL day long and it has lots of vitamins, mostly B's in it. Look forward to hearing from you ! Karen
  4. This is day 6 for me and i have been fine. the high protein drinks are very filling. I use Unjury . My diet consists of 8 oz protein shake for breakfast, one for lunch and a pre selected 330 calorie ,low carb, high protein frozen dinner for dinner. I drink propel water in between, lots of it. I can have sugar free jello and sugar free popsicle if I need. the 6 days have gone by very fast and the good news is i lost 7.2 lbs already ! I'm looking forward to weighing again in the morning !
  5. Hi ! I started my liquid diet last Friday . its not been so bad,the first day was the worst. the protein really does fill you up and so it took that first day for my mentality of " It not an option (eating )" took ahold. Today is day 6 and i have lost 7.2 lbs already !
  6. absolutely NOT the expert here but I think the first thing to do is the leak test and then steroids and if that doesnt work, the scope test. Least invasive first . Praying for you and the doctors to make the right decision and of course for your healing .
  7. Walking keeps the blood flowing and its important to not get a clot . You also displace the gas that will in turn give you pain relief. Best wishes ! Let us know how you are !
  8. I also was scheduled to get a band but changed my mind....just got my approval for the change of a sleeve and Friday the 9th is my day....
  9. yipee ! Keep us updated as you can....still praying for ya !
  10. Thanks for writing .... keep us updated and go to the ER if you are still sick...
  11. I love unjury Chicken soup ! i just started my pre-op diet and i drink one of these a day. Drinking something warm makes me feel like I ate a meal.
  12. wow, five inches is long ! i didn't think any of the incisions would be that long.
  13. Wow..thats quite a chunk for the upper GI. I had one a few days ago and never realized how much they were. Good luck !
  14. Mexico is a scary place for all , even the ones that work over here and go home to visit....I'd be more worried about being robbed and shot. I live in South Texas and never go over anymore. We used to drive and leave the car in the U.S. and then walk over staying right there to shop. I heard it is very dangerous to go further into Mexico. I would think it much cheaper and safer to find a Dr. here if you need that check up.
  15. scared myself.....i was looking forward to it for so long and now....not so much..and Im second guessing my decision.....I started by asking for the lap band and was approved and then changed my mind and asked for the sleeve and I got my approval letter today and guess what...i want the lap band now LOL! UGGH !!!
  16. whew glad its easily fixed....unlike the leak problems which scare me to death ! Im up for surgery soon and starting to freak.
  17. If you show up in an emergency room the law says they have to take you ..you will not be turned away. : ) Please let us know how you are.
  18. I agree, just go ! Even if you have to pay for it you can pay it out according to whatever you can afford. You cannot get your life back and you have a responsibility to your loved ones and to yourself.....said with a hug and a smile ! I however do not believe that an insurance will not take care of medical needs due to a surgery....before special permission was due to the fact that you were having a surgery that some insurance companies don't approve of...you arent asking for another weight loss surgery, only that your medical needs be attended to. This is important , the longer you wait the worse it could be and will be if you do have a leak.
  19. I'm november 9th also ! I tarted my diet Friday morning. I can have three injury protein shakes with fat free milk, one 300 calorie 17 grams protein meal and sugar free jello and sugar free popsicle. Oh, caffeine free coffee, tea and propel or zero vitamin water. The zero vitamin water tastes horrible.
  20. Better to be safe and you wont worry so much if you talk to them...Dont be afraid to call : ) Its their job !
  21. awesome job of telling us your story and awesome story...thank you for taking the time : ) Im not sleeved yet but will tell my story wehn i get it done
  22. how long since surgery ? The breathing part concerns me....call your dr.
  23. start back on the high protein shakes, low carbs and no sugar diet would be my suggestion. Good luck and it was very good of you to ask for support in this. At least you didn't run to the food....AWESOME !!! You can do this ! I'm starting my pre-op diet today so I'll be right with ya !
  24. ask him if he needs another patient LOL! Just kidding : ) Great news !
