Surgery is Feb. 4 - taking the week off work. Plan to return to desk job on the 11th.

There are so many things I love about my new sleeve! I thought it might be nice for us to share them so people who are looking into surgery can see.
1. I ate all my fav things (just a spoonful) over the holidays and still lost weight!
2. I can go up the stairs without running out of breath.
3. Crossing my legs!
4. Portion Control is So easy!!!!
5. I never feel deprived.
6. I can walk over 2 miles a day easily and I am only 4 months out.
7. I see my reflection in a window and don't wonder who it is!
8. Sex...OMG
9. I have tons of energy. No more couch potato for me!
10. People sometimes do not recognize me.
11. I was told I look like my graduation picture. (I'm 48)
12. Not afraid of the camera and I am only 1/2 way to goal.
The list goes on and on but those are some I can think of off the top of my head.
What are your favorite things?????

I am Lady V.
I am 5" 4 and 262 lbs. I am in my late 30's.
I like exercising (Zumba and weight training). I hope that VSG complements my exercising and I end up w/ a toned apperance.
My GW is 140.
I don't have my exact Feb date yet. I should know soon. My paperwork has gone in already. My surgery is in the U.S.
I had all of my NUT classes and testing done.
I am having open VSG. I have lots of abnormal scarring, plus removed instestines from a surgery I had as an infant. I had open gallbladder a couple of years ago.
I am scared to death of stricture, leaks, and excessive gerd.
I am curious at to various pre-op routines. It appears the NUT part varies from doc to doc.

I am a little scared after reading the leak survivors story. I decided I am going to continue on my journey in-spite of my fear but I am gonna start the liquid diet soon and exercising even sooner so I can have better results

Yeah I'm a Pasta freak so I'm probably gonna have an Olive Garden pig out before the liquid diet... food Funeral!! LOL

Honestly y'all....the bitching and whining about mean people is getting way worse than all the truly mean statements ever were. Accept or ignore....move on. Don't let it keep bothering you and certainly don't keep rehashing old news.

I dunno,.. this is one of the nicest Care Bear-Rainbow Brite sweetness forums I've ever been on. But then, being a MAN and a dullard as well I don't know there's a problem until the fry pan bounces off my head.

So I was going to be sleeved on February 16th but it's now been pushed back to February 27th because of finances. I'm paying for it on my own and will be recovering mostly alone since i live in Seoul, south Korea. My fiancé doesn't live close by so I'm going to be on this journey mostly alone.
I'm nervous because I'll only have about 4.5 days to recover before going back to work. Eek!

Hello from Corpus Christi, Texas!! As far as the password issue, I am the moderator of a group and no one can figure out how to set or find a password that seems to be required when using the app version of VST...I pm'd an administrator to see if they could offer any assitance...if I find anything out, I will pass it on!!! would love to hear from any sleevers in the South Texas area!!!

This site has totally made feel like I'm not alone and I have friends that understand thanks all and more to come finally figured out how to post pics u hAve to be invited to a group to work lol

I agree-it's the tone, or sense of humor, that gets misconstrued. People really do try to help. I can't imagine this journey without my daily VST check-in. Also, people have to remember they don't have to post and we don't have to read everything posted! The last 'battle of wits' disgusted me, so I stopped reading...I noticed it went on for days! Some people use this forum to exercise various rights (free speech, etc.), but sometimes good intentions run amuck and bad feelings are the result. Don't like-don't read! It stops fueling the fire! Positive thoughts, energy, and results to all in 2013!

I love seeing posts like this Big Frank!! Success stories are always so encouraging!! I'm getting sleeved on February 18th and while I'm excited to make a change, it's a little intimidating!! As far as getting brain-banged by some of the horror stories you see on here...I think we all just have to remember that it is important to go into this thing with our eyes wide open, being fully informed as to what can happen (good and bad)...we just don't need to let ourselves get so wrapped up in the fear that we miss out on such a good thing! There is no way of knowing in advance if you are going to have a leak or any of the other issues that may occur, you can only cross that bridge when you come to it. Best of luck to everyone!!
