I am 64 and got sleeved aug 9th......but I am starving again now....I have lost 59 lb and have 44 to go....but I am always hungry.....weight has come to a standstill now for 2 weeks....dont know what to do about it...should I have more Protein shakes or what.....tell me someone how to kick start it again....

    Are you getting enough Protein? How about increasing your exercise? 59 lbs. is a fantastic weight loss! Be easy on yourself. Everyone experiences stalls. The scale WILL start moving again.

  2. Went to my family doctor today for checkup. She was the one to recommend the sleeve to me. I love her! She was pleased with my weight loss. Down from 1st visit to WLS (which was 250 and then day of surgery I was 222, today (5 weeks after sleeve), I weigh 207. Smiles all around. She said I am not getting enough calories. I have been averaging 400 calories a day. She said it should be 1000. She said not to pay that much attention to sugar right now. Of course she did not mean candy, , Cookies and cake, etc. She suggested I add more fruit and try to eat more small meals. I'm going to try ... but i get full so fast and it takes me about an hour to finish my Protein Shakes. Any other suggestions?


  3. I've been sampling different products to prep for my upcoming surgery. I just had the unjury chicken Soup for lunch today. I really enjoyed it. I was expecting it to taste chalky' date=' but it was very flavorful and provided 20 gm Protein in an 8oz serving. I liked that I could order just a few packets of things to try before committing to a large jar.[/quote']

  4. What a great day! Went to a live show at our local theater ... Ran into an old friend who didn't recognize me, and I felt so comfortable inching past people to get to my seat and then fitting into my seat with room to spare and could even cross my legs! Yea for my sleeve!

  5. 1 Pre-made Premier vanilla Protein shake

    4-5 Slices frozen banana

    Few drops of vanilla

    Small pinch brown sugar

    Blend until smooth. It's awesome!!!

    Sometimes I pour my Protein smoothies (either homemade or store bought) into my little 4 oz. tupperware containers and pop them in the freezer. After they're frozen, set them on the counter for about 15 minutes and then you can scrape them up with a spoon and they taste delicious! The best thing is the taste is great and there's NO protein smell! Great for fulfilling that "Desert" that we miss so much or as a snack between meals. Enjoy! Cathrine

  6. I was testing this out during my preop diet - adding the unflavored Protein to my chicken broth. I tried the fusion Unflavored but I also have Isopure Unflavored on order. I added the packet of protein powder to about 1/4 cup of Water and used a fork to kind of wisk it until the clumps were gone. Then I added it to my Soup. It didn't clump, thicken or change the flavor at all. I anticipate that I will do the same when I add it to mashed potatoes. I did read that you can not add it directly to very hot food or that will curdle it a bit and make it lumpy, etc.

    Thanks for the tip! I will definitely try this.


  7. I never add it to food. I tried it in yogurt and yes it does clump. Makes me not want to eat it! But in a shake you can't tell it's in there. I blend mine with my magic bullet. When I blend the milk chocolate flavor with milk and crushed ice I swear it tastes like a frosty from Wendy's! Btw I use the GNC brand unflavored whey Protein.

    How much do you add? A full scoop? How much milk? You said Milk chocolate flavor, then you said you use Unflavored whey protein.I have a Magic Bullet. Guess I need list of your ingredients. Sorry to be so dense!

  8. Slim Fast is low in Protein. I heard there is a high Protein version of Slim Fast available. Since I actually like the taste of Slim Fast' date=' sometimes I use the powder dissolved in milk then add 1/2 a scoop of unflavored whey protein to it and it brings to total to 26 grams. I still get the good taste and you can't tell the unflavored whey is in it.[/quote']

    You all say, "add a half scoop of unflavored protein powder" to your drinks or food, like that's the easiest thing to do! When I add this powder, it clumps - never fully dissolves and I can't get it down! What's the secret?

  9. I was sleeved on July 30th and was down 34lbs when I went for my for my 2nd visit on 8/28! Hoping to be under 300lbs when I go back in October. I refuse to have a scale @ home right now and only go by the scale at my doctor's office. I'm just concentrating on getting my proteins/fluids in and exercise. Hopefully' date=' he will clear me to start Water exercises and weights.[/quote']

FattyCathy lost 101 pounds in less than a year, SleevaDiva lost 92 pounds in 6 months, TubbyMummy lost 50 pounds in 3 months.. don't be ridiculous Dana, do you really think YOU will be able to lose that kind of weight? YOU are different...you are destined to stay fat and live a half life...those others must have something you don't.

    No really, this could be different. ......Could this possibly really actually be different? Maybe, yes, maybe it can... .... oh please, don't get your hopes up. You'll let them poke 5 holes in your stomach, blow it up like you're 7 months pregnant and then slice off of 90% of it. FOR NOTHING. You'll be throwing up, getting nausea inducing bloating off 3 green Beans and having to concentrate like it's a full time job on sip sip sip sip sip, chew chew chew chew, don't throw up, did you get your Protein in today?, maybe I have a leak, uh oh- that pureed egg salad Soup did not agree with me, trying Protein powder brand #63 --taking one sip and gagging -- and on to brand #64...., oh thank God, it's been 4 weeks-- I can finally eat the Gerber pureed liver and brussell sprouts- yum!!........... all of this will be for NOTHING, because you are delusional if you think YOU will finally shed the monster that has consumed your life for 40 years. YOU are destined to stay fat -- and your surgeon will be dumbfounded by the fact that YOU (the failure) are not losing weight...he'll think, well she must be sucking down Haagen Daz by the gallon every day... wow, what a failure...Never thought I'd find a fat person that could not lose weight with this... Dana Must Be the First Person In the World who has been an utter failure at not losing weight under starvation conditions.. yep, he'll find you out...you are just a failure.....now just go back to worrying that if you die at home in the shower the paramedics will have to lift your 260lb naked ass to load you and then the funeral home will have to special order an Elvis Presley casket...... but maybe, Oh please God, maybe this COULD work?

    Your thoughts are funny and sad at the same time. I, too, keep thinking I will be the only on that this won't work for. Sleeved 8/28/12. Have lost 35 lbs. since first doctors visit. Still on full liquids and actually enjoying my EAS Advantage Protein Drink. But, I'm thirsty all the time. Will I ever be able to chug a bottle of cold Water again?

    That's one thing I'm looking forward to! Two weeks out from surgery and 34lbs down from first office visit.


  12. A lot of people have trouble getting anything down for a few days and aren't even hungry It's not usually a problem.

    You'll have to find some kind of Protein you can tolerate while you're on the clear stage. It's the Protein that keeps you from getting hungry. unjury makes a chicken Soup broth that I believe has 25 grams of protein. There's also isopure' date=' which is 40 grams per bottle.[/quote']

    Where do they sell Unjury? I can't find it.
