Depending on what you like about noodles, I really like sphagetti squash as an alternative:

Yesterday I hit the 92 pounds lost mark. I am so, so thankful. I really can't believe I've done it. Not just the surgery and good eating, but the choosing to really take care of myself. It's been 3.5 months since my surgery. I still have over 100 pounds to go, but I am almost 1/2 way there and I am so excited. On 10/20 I will be walking a 5K at Soldier Field in Chicago. When I think about walking all that way I scare myself. But I will do it. I am committed. I want to be the kind of person who can do a 5K - even if it takes me all day to do it!!!!
I think what I've learned the last few months is to just take it one day at a time. To not beat myself up when I blow it a bit. To trust my new tummy and that my body is working for me - wanting to get healthy. I have learned that life goes on - whether I am eating ice-cream or not. That dealing with stress does not necessarily mean overeating. That I can still find foods to crunch and enjoy but that I don't have to eat the whole bag, carton, plate. I am thankful for this chance... this opportunity. And I am committed to helping those who are not able to get the surgery, or who are not ready, to fight the lie that they are no good and that there is no hope.
I have been overweight since I was 7 and weighed over 300 pounds for the last 20 years. While I have had a fantastic job, great friends, active lifestyle, and strong faith through it all - I have also hated my body, judged myself relentlessly, and slept through many a party or activity due to exhaustion and embarrassment.. When I think of how terribly I have been to myself - it makes me cry. Hurting myself - hating myself - got me to 398. It was a step of love that had me endure through the surgery hoops, get my surgery, and worked on this food issue the past several month.
If you are someone who has literally hated yourself because of your weight (and other things), my prayer is that I can help you and you can help me not be mean to ourselves any longer. I want to care for me - and lead myself in a healthy, active, alive life-style. Please help me in return by sharing with me your pain, victories and journey. Thank you for your friendship and partnership on this adventure!

Good luck with it and I feel for you. I am on day nine of ten of my liquid diet. I have done pretty well - not straying except today I took a bite of my daughter's apple as we were at an apple orchard and then I had a swig of Pickle Juice directly from the pickle jar this evening.

First of all, let me say that I know that popcorn is a slider food and has carbs. I know that you should not be eating it early out because the hulls could get stuck in your suture. I am almost 2 years post op and I love popcorn and eat it in moderation.
I have found a way (with some research and experimenting) to make a sweet and salty popcorn with no added fat or sugar. It is the paper bag in the microwave method. It is not glazed like kettle corn, but it still tastes yummy! Warning though, lots of the popcorn seeds do not pop, so I put a little extra in.
1/4 cup popcorn kernels (I use white popcorn)
1 tsp of Torani Syrup (I use vanilla, and I have tried brown sugar cinnamon as well...you could try anything!)
1-2 tsp splenda (experiment to find your sweetness likes)
salt to taste (I like more salty than sweet, so I use a bit. I ground up my salt to make it super fine more like popcorn salt from a suggestion on another website...sticks to the popcorn a little better, but it is up to you)
    cinnamon or other spices optional
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Dump into brown paper bag. Fold the top over a couple of times and crease it well so the bag doesn't open. Lie the bag on its side in the microwave. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes and watch carefully, it burns quickly. Once the popping has slowed, turn it off. Mine take just over 2 minutes, you will have to experiment to find what works with your microwave.
Dump in a bowl and enjoy!

Ok I am having surgery some time in Jan. or early Feb. I love to cook and I cook a lot (reason i am getting surgery. lol)

Any way I was thinking of starting a YouTube Channel for a post surgery cooking show. I would do a new recipe once or twice a week on healthy foods and portion sizes. I would show the recipe and cook it up to show final product.

Would anyone be interested in this?

Would it help anyone in any way?

    Thanks,
    John

I put Laughing Cow in everything! I mash up imitation crab meat and then mash in a wedge (I use all the flavors at one point or another) of Garlic & Herb and that's lunch folks! I make scrambled egg whites with a little bit of turkey bacon bits in it then mix in a Laughing Cow wedge. So creamy & yummy!!

Have you tried making some hot tea with a few thin slices of fresh ginger root added? I am having my sleeve in exactly 3 weeks from today (yeah!) so i dont know about post nausea, but the ginger tea always feels nice in my tummy now.
