  1. What's that? A brand? Never heard of it...
  2. Why do I tend to candy coat things? Well..cause my momma always told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Unless it's about myself, then I can be scathing...I'm my own worst critic. Never gave myself the "foodie" title....I'm a glutton, and a carb addict, plain and simple.
  3. Fellow allergic person here! One thing comes to mind...bet we're not allergic to losing weight and being healthier! We've all been an a "diet" and lost some weight. I've been struggling for 20 years to get back under 200..been so close more than a few times, only to decide to give myself a "break" from starvation and exercising to the point of injury and then throwing it all to the wind and gaining right back to my starting point. UGH! Time for a novel outlook...and a brand spanking new tool in my toolbox. Not getting any younger, no more time for messin' around...this IS it! WE CAN DO IT!!
  4. I've been experimenting for a while. I ordered vitamin samples from Bariatric Choice and have chosen the Celebrate mandarin orange, lemon calcium citrate chews, and a chewable Iron. I like EAS carb control protein drinks from walmart, tried a few diff powders from there as well, not so good unless I doctor them up with PB, fruit or SF pudding mixes. I like Protein Ice drink (from my local sports nutrition store), Special K protein drink mixes, and just recently added Yoplait greek yogurt (vanilla) to my likes (mixed with either PB and SF butterscotch pudding mix or SF cheesecake pudding mix and some strawberries or cherries mashed up) The greek yogurt has been difficult, I like regular yogurt but the greek has been too "hardcore" for me LOL Just recently checked out soy milk and was pleased to discover it has a good bit of protein, although I read a post somewhere that it wasn't the best choice due to the soy having estrogens, which can make it harder to lose weight. Never tasted it though...I'm hoping all this hasn't been in vain, as supposedly my taste could change after surgery, but I've enjoyed all the experimentation
  5. This made me laugh...no gap of sunshine here either, ever! Really hard to weed the garden in the dark too!
  6. I'm still pre-sleeve but have been adding extra protein to my diet and in attempting to find a greek yogurt I like I added about a tblsp of natural PB and tsp. of splenda to yoplait greek. It was pretty good..and for after surgery PB2 would be what's needed. Building my protein arsenal!
  7. True, true... Some days it's easy to let things roll off, some days not, but if this were my first contact with a place of business that I planned on spending a good amount of time and money at and I was made to feel badly, I certainly wouldn't want to frequent there. OP can do what she wants, just giving my perspective
  8. 42 and... never traveled past East Texas or South Carolina (home is Ohio). never ridden a roller coaster never traveled by myself never been on a plane, boat, or train never known what it's like to not feel bad about being overweight
  9. Not sleeved yet but when I had my gallbladder surgery I vacuumed slowly at two weeks out, leaning on the washer to pull out wet clothes or kitchen sink while doing dishes took a little longer before it didn't hurt. Don't try to do yard work that early though...I set myself back for weeks after that!
  10. I was looking at that yesterday...I think it's made by healthy choice? Looked interesting...
  11. you're quite welcome, glad to hear it has subsided some. How bizarre right?? Must have been quite the bump!
  12. Well la-de-dah for her...she may have actually been genuinely concerned that you may have problems like her friend, but I think she was tooting her own horn...a little too loudly....and right in your face!! I would feel the same way you do about going to this particular gym. I'd go somewhere else.
  13. Oh my goodness!! Are you feeling better? How scary
  14. Did you get them at a pharmacy or dept. store? I've been considering them as well, I have varicose and spider veins and must wear them home after surgery but thought I'd be pro-active and get them prior to as well. The cardiologist at OCC will give me heparin while in the hosp. but I don't know if I will go home with any or not...
  15. I'm not going until Feb. 18th...I'll be watching for your posts, best of luck!
  16. I worry about being good with this after surgery too. It's so easy to just "switch off" while eating...my mind is anywhere and everywhere but not focused on how/what I'm putting in my mouth. I'm hoping the fact that I can only take a few bites might reel me in, gonna try and savor those few bites
  17. Great news Amanda!! Your mom is flying with you? Might I be nosy and ask what rate you got? I checked a few weeks ago and it was $371 and some change for two persons round trip through southwestern. I'm worried it will go up...my daughter is going with me and has to save her own airfare, so I have to wait.
  18. I can't WAIT to be in the "under 200 club"...Feb. 18th is my surgery day. Keep up the awesome work..reading posts like yours keeps me pumped!
  19. I scheduled way back in October for surgery in Feb. with Dr. Ortiz and at that time the two surgeries were the same price. The price listed on my patient information forms was the same, too. Have you filled that out yet? You could double check on your copy. Not saying something couldn't have gotten mixed up at the time you scheduled. Hope you get this figured out...it does suck a little that the deposit is non-refundable, my husband grumbled about that too
  20. okay...this may change the taste, but I just thought of trying to mix in some unflavored protein powder...gonna have to try it! Waiting on my unjury starter kit
  21. I'm still here Amanda! Dr. Ariel Ortiz, Feb. 18th in Tijuana...7 weeks and counting..woot! woot!
  22. I have this thread pinned Daisy! Just wondering if anyone has gotten any good recent deals...I've checked out links and tips posted earlier and haven't had much luck finding the same deals, aside from Unjury. Anyone? I have to start my pre-op in a few weeks
  23. Interesting...(rubs chin) LOL....it does sound yummy, I'm not sleeved yet but have tried several diff Greek yogurts...thumbs down on all so far! Maybe mixing it up is the secret.
  24. I LOVE dark chocolate...a small piece will satisfy my craving. I even like sugar free "Special Dark"....tastes just as good, but gotta watch out for those sugar alcohols Learned that lesson the hard way!
