Getting a fill tomorrow!!! Hope it works this time..
I was able to eat some chicken noodle Soup for lunch. Not much though, I had mostly the warm broth, and felt better from it. The Protein drink I tried to drink this morning was cold, so maybe that is why I couldn't handle it. Buy boy oh boy do I feel the restriction. And its a bit scary, when I was first banded I was really really sick for a week and wasn't able to hold anything down, I kept pb anything and everything. I ended up in the hospital very dehydrated and it was really scary I thought I was dying and leaving my little kids behind all because I wanted to be thin. So this feeling of restriction (this tight) scares me a lot. But I will take your advice and only take warm liquids or soup because it seems to have worked for me at lunch. I have a 10 cc band and I have 2 cc's in from the fill yesterday. Thank you for the hugs, I really need those today, feeling pretty down, I'm doubting whether all of this is worth it. Yesterday as I was to sip a little Water, and not feeling too good about it, my husband was enjoying his dinner, smoked sausage sauted with peppers, tomatoes and onions and white rice, he also has avocado on the side of his plate and boy was he enjoying it. I can't eat that way anymore and sometimes I wonder if this is all worth it. I'm sorry for going on and on, but I just need someone to hear me today. I hope I loosen up a little bit, but not too much.

Getting a fill tomorrow!!! Hope it works this time..
OH, I forgot Pally the Dr. who did my surgery doesn't charge for fills, but he is in Mx, so I found Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables to do my fills, he charges $300 for a fill with out flouru, if you do it with flouru its $600. I got mine without flouru and there was no problem, I know for a fact that Dr. Gomez knows what he's doing, he hits the port every time and I have a flipped port so that is even harder, but he seems to have no problem getting the job done.

Getting a fill tomorrow!!! Hope it works this time..
Well I got filled yesterday, I had 1.2cc in my band and he filled me to 2 cc's, I think I'm too tight. Yikes I go from having no restriction to feeling too restricted, I've been taking little sips of water and gatorade since last night and I can drink a little bit at a time, but then I feel like its stuck there. Why can't anything ever go right for me. I tell you, its tough being on this rollercoaster with fills. I only pb one time, so I am not scared of not being able to keep liquids down, but I wanted to be tight and he made me tight. Wow, nothing ever seems to go right for me, its kind of discouraging. I hope to be feeling better by this weekend. My family and I are headed to Orlando for the weekend, we are going to take the kids to Sea World and to Animal Kingdom Park. My son had a (3) birthday last Wed, and my daughter turns (4) tomorrow, so we are taking them there to celebrate their birthdays. Well, I hope this fill gives a little, because I dont' want to drive three hours again to get an unfill. YUK!

Member of the Banded Gentry (finally)
I am so happy for you, I am glad that everything went well for you. And please stick to the diet, I made a terrible mistake and had a tiny bite of solid food in my liquid phase and paid for it later. But I sure learned my lesson. Get plenty of rest and as they say sip, sip and sip... Love,

instantaenous PB
Well I can top all of those, in December when I was fairly new to the band world, my boss asked me to go out to lunch with her to celebrate her birthday, I ordered some grilled chicken plate at Olive Garden, but because she ordered a drink for me, I felt obligated to take a drink, well big mistake... I got so sick, I had to run to the bathroom twice, into a packed bathroom, those people probably thought, poor girl, she must be bulimic, well anyways went back to the table and again that horrible sensation ran back to the bathroom. Well there must have been some more chicken stuck, because on the ride home I started feeling sick again and couldn't hold it in, I pb all over my new RL brown wool sweater, straight down my crotch-- I was so embarassed, she was really scared for me (she doesn't know i have the band), but I told her I have some gastric stomache issues so she thought it was that. Man, I have never been so embarrassed in my life, what was more disgusting was having to clean myself off. I'll never go out to eat with other people, not worth the risk of embarrassment. YUKK!!

tight sometimes??
When I saw the title to your thread, I thought, yep, I have tons of tight clothes.. But I see that's not what you meant..LOL and those are not only tight sometimes, their tight all the time.... Hello my Florida friend, I don't have much restriction at this time so there are few things that I have a hard time eating, but when I first got my band I did experience that sensation you are talking about. I get filled tomorrow, so hopefully I can finally have some restriction and start losing some of this ugly weight.

Getting a fill tomorrow!!! Hope it works this time..
Well hello, here I am again, I will be driving the three hours to Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables, Florida for another fill, I had a fill done on March 1, but didn't get any restriction from it. I was supposed to go back last week, but decided to wait another week to see if the restriction would kick in, well it hasn't but hopefully everything will go well tomorrow and I can finally get some restriction and start losing some weight. I have not lost any weight in a while and it is really depressing me and in turn the feeling of depression is making me eat more, I have gained about five pounds back and I hate myself for it. Please pray that I have a good fill tomorrow, my port is sideways so that concerns me as well. Well I will let you all know on Thursday how my fill went. On the up side I get to see the good looking Dr. Gomez.

instantaenous PB
I had a terrible Pb last night, it was awful, I thought I was going to die. When I finally did have my pb it was a great huge big bubble when it dropped in the toilet it didn't break up, just floated around in there, a great big bubble. It took me a while to start feeling better, by this point I was sitting on the floor in the bathroom, when I finally felt good enough to get off the floor, the big bubble was still there, it reallly amazed me, how your esophogas makes this foamy slimy stuff to help you get rid of what you eat (or break it up), it is either going helping it through or coming back up. Mine came back up, YUKKY!!!

Fills without Flouro
The last fill I had was with Dr. Gomez (aka Cutie-pie) and we did it w/out flouru, he had no problem hitting the port, one shot and he found it. Also, he didn't use any numbing meds, but it was not bad at all, I really didn't feel a thing. My port is flipped but luckily he was able to do the fill, I have to go in next Wed., because I didn't get any restriction from the one done last week. But its not bad getting it done w/out flouru.

I think he likes me....
I too hope everything works out for you, but If it were me, I would wait a little bit more before telling him about your band. But thats just me, I don't want people to know, I can't take their negative critisism. Wishing you the best.

Where is the first place you lost weight?
I lost it all in my butt, it is now flatter than ever, then my arms and I still haven't noticed too much off my belly, which is where I have lots and lots of fat. Maybe I'll have to get butt implants in addition to a tt. LOL Look out J Lo here I come!!!

Got 2nd Fill, but have no restriction
No problem. Just glad that to get all the encouragement and advice from all of you.

Got 2nd Fill, but have no restriction
Thank you all for your encouragement, I know that this is a slow process, but it just gets frustrating sometimes. Blossom, you hit it right on the spot. Yes, I am a stress eater, and I have been having a rough couple of weeks. With working full time and having three kids, two of which are toddlers it is not easy. And my marital problems add to the stress level. If I could have a full time nanny and a full time housekeeper I think it would be easier on me. LOL -Don't we all wish for that??? Well I have to wait for my fill next Wed., meanwhile I will try to get a hold of myself and not be eating like I have been. Thank you all for being so caring.

Got 2nd Fill, but have no restriction
I was not able to go today, I have a board meeting tomorrow that I have to prepare for, so I rescheduled for next Wednesday. I have no restriction from the fill last week, I have been eating like a hog, why am I so out of control? I need to get a hold of my eating, I have been reallly bad, I don't eat as much as I did preband, but I eat a lot, enough to not be losing any weight. Got any ideas to set me staight? I am so unhappy with myself. I hate this....

Need help buying Health Insurance
The person in my office is happy with her insurance coberage and does not wish to change, so I have to look for individual coverage. The company will pay my premium, so I won't have any out of pocket expense there. I have located a broker in town, thank you so much for the advice.

Need help buying Health Insurance
There are only two employees in our office and we don't have group coverage (which would be ideal) The other person in the office is also a realtor so she has some sort of coverage for self-employed business persons. Where do I find an insurance broker? Do you think that having the band will be an issue?

Need help buying Health Insurance
My job is going to give me an allowance to pay for medical insurance, but I am in the dark as to coverages. Is anyone educated on this subject? I need help in finding a good plan, please help.

Discounts for cash/self-pay?
I paid $6500 in Reynosa Mexico which is right across the border from McAllen, Texas with Dr. Castellanos. The other doctor I was going to use Dr. de la Garza (he was out of town on the dates I could have my surgery so I had to find another doctor) quoted me $7500 and he too was traveling to REynosa for the surgery (my mom lives in McAllen so this is convenient for me), but then I called him and told him I only had $6500 and he said that he could go ahead and do the surgery and that I could owe him the $1000 which he said I had a year to pay back or could refer one person to him and wouldn't owe him anything. I thought that was a good deal. It is definitely less expensive to have your surgery in Mexico than here. But you do have to take into consideration your travel and time. I flew to Mcallen and my ticket was about $250 round trip. I was nervous about getting surgery in Mexico, but my doctor is very qualified and I was pleasantly surprised at the kind of care I received. Good luck.

My sister had a Down Syndrome baby
I will keep your sister and Nolan in my prayers. When my son was born three years ago, he had some issues (one of which was feeding) and the doctor thought he might have some genetic problems, we spent a week in the hospital getting all the necessary tests, it was very hard during that week, waiting for results from test after test, we were very blessed that everything came back negative, except for some tiny heart murmurs (one of which is already gone). My son was finally diagnosed with failure to thrive, he has a difficult time gaining weight, (didn't get it from me) and was given some nutritional supplements to help him gain the necessary weight. He later developed multiple hemangiomas which he has had three surgeries to remove. It has been very difficult to see my child going through so much at such a young age. But He is turning three on Wed, and is a healthy boy who is full of life. Children are such a blessing, and you have to remember that God never gives us more than we can handle. I will keep Nolan in my prayers. Please keep us posted on his progress. Love,
