  1. Hope your not implying that I am trying to tell everyone how to do this journey...I do not stand up as any example in anything......this is one of the hardest things I have ever done and will always be with me until I breath my last breath...But today I am in pain and we have a snow storm so I was just thinking, and I wrote it all down... The longer I am on this journey the less I know I know..It is scary, really scary...Opening myself up to learn! Love that point! Raised 2 children..One is 34, mother of 1 and my son is a sheriff....My daughter has thanked me for raising her and not leaving her on the side of the road...My son however..never mind that's a different story...50% ain't that bad is it..It's a pass really!!!
  2. My evaluation was really different...i had to go 2 different times and the first session was 2 hours..I was only supposed to be there for 1 And the second one was 3 hours, I was only supposed to be there for 1.. She was concerned for me because I had gotten rid of anyone who had any medical influence over me at that time...She asked me how can you do this without help from the medical field..I said" they weren't helping me anyway."... To make a really long story short..We talked about my past and she viewed it one way and I explained it another...she cried several times through our encounters....But at the end she passed me even though I apparently had made a grave error in firing my Dr. and Psychiatrist.... When I was in the hospital for those 5 months she came to see me a lot and we talked about life and dreams and just day to day stuff and she was always late for her next appointment..I really liked her!!!!
  3. I took your hug as well..Thanks! I can't go out and enjoy the day as we are having a snow storm...2 I dislocated 3 ribs and the are working to put them back in..So I have no choice but to rest and whine on here.... I am so glad that I could help a little..We are not so far apart in our worlds when it comes to the complex parts of this journey.... Besides of course weather...It is cold here!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Joined art class..That explains Robert Burns too....you made me giggle..And it hurt my ribs!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Just curious Jay, you said a couple of times you were busted up playing hockey.....What kind of hockey do you play...yikes!!!!!!!! Ice hockey! The only kind! =D I got busted up once in college pretty good (on a hit I initiated no less). And then when I was 28 I went into the low boards funny and got a hairline in one, plus some good spraining in the area. I didnt notice it due to adrenaline. But later that night I went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack! Maybe golf is your game....lol good grief!!!!
  6. Not much of a hugger..But right now I would take that hug and squeeze right back....I just finished a huge cup of tea...I asked my nut about drinking the real thing and she said, "don't sweat it..it is part of who you are"..I said, "Cookies are too" and she said, "don't push it sweetheart"..Can't say I didn't try eh!!!
  7. The second surgery addressed my internal bleeding. If was done as emergency surgery Sunday morning. By the time he got in there the bleeding had stopped so we don't know the source of the bleeding. He expected that but saiid it was important to clean out the blood as it would have caused additional problems like a leak. I am so pleased you do not have a leak...That is not fun and it takes a long time to get better from that one...thank your lucky stars your home and on the mend!!!!
  8. There are some things I know for sure: Death, taxes, aging, puberty, seasonal changes, time passes, scientific advancement, sperm and egg starting point, man cannot live without Water, everybody poops, can't lick your elbow, there is always someone better off then you, everyone has an opinion, sun always sets in the west, full moon once a month, clowns are creepy, the 80's fashions should die, shivery is not dead, and Elvis has indeed left the building!!!!!!! There are things I don't know for sure: Are children here to test our sanity, why can't we all get along, why doesn't turnip make you fat, is love really all we need, is laughter the best medicine, what really is the root of all evil, will time actually heal all wounds, is there love at first sight, do we live and learn, why do we always end up in the slowest check out line, why does dropped toast always land face side down, why does Murphy's law always happen to me, do we ever really know all there is to know about the ones we love, and where will I be in 5 years.... I bring these up because I think that the hardest one of all is will I ever get my head under control. Will I ever truly succeed in my desire to be the person I am inside of this body. I wonder if I will ever be able to relax and say to myself ..You got this girl!!! I find that with everything I think I know and everything I don't..i find the hardest thing to explain is why I allowed my self to punish me for shit that happens..... There will always be so much work to do through the joys of getting better, finding myself and learning to live with who I am on the inside.... I really truly want this to be the answer for me and everyone else that has taken the difficult plunge of WLS..... Just thinking hard this morning on my faults and kinda sad that I have so far to go and may never reach a conclusion.....
  9. I also saw the book Wheat Belly..I have heard a lot about that book lately. So I picked it up as well...boy I have some reading ahead of me...Must finish the classic I am reading right now fast...lol
  10. i have ordered both books Arts...... http://www.amazon.co...t/dp/0307474259
  11. The old saying is...never talk about religion or politics.....and never ever ask a woman her age! lol
  12. You can try agave, maple syrup or coconut sugar...All are natural...
  13. As you lose weight..Whatever toxins that you ate when you gained that weight were stored in your tissue. As the weight comes off the stored toxins are released through the pores of your skin, sweat and where ever else they can exit..lol So through out your journey there will be times when you will experience things that you never did before, like breakouts of blemishes.....
  14. Forward go girl.....Like everyone on here you are bound to find that things can be eaten easily...Such as sweets, chips and my personal favorite sweet and salty pop corn... You know what you are doing and we all do it..But if we don't get a hold of it then the tool won't work for us...All of us have to be aware of our weaknesses and stay away..It is not easy by any means...i know!! Take a few days and eat clean..very clean..Lots of Protein and no carbs of any sort...It will be hard but you will once again detox yourself...... You like me and all of us will always struggle with issues like these because that is what we used to comfort us....Win the game of the head and then you will win the game of the body....K
  15. Thank you cutie....You know what Sonny and Cher sang.." And the Beat Goes On ".....
  16. I think woman did that in the sixties...no wait it was meet your husband at the door wrapped in cellophane...hehehehehe Husband: "What,...leftovers again?" gmanbat...I think we watched the same movie That was in a movie? I thought I stole it from Joan Rivers. Coulda been both. Joan Rivers...oh yuck!..no I got it from " Fried Green Tomatoes " with Kathy Bates...She showed up at the door when her husband came home and he said soooo whats for dinner....lol
  17. I never drank CIB....gas-sly...And premier shakes...Could only handle them if I never took them from my lips and just sipped until gone..The moment I took it away from my mouth I would either throw it up or choke on it....I keep it around just in case I am in a bind or sick.... Never been a good experience for me.....
  18. I think woman did that in the sixties...no wait it was meet your husband at the door wrapped in cellophane...hehehehehe Husband: "What,...leftovers again?" gmanbat...I think we watched the same movie
  19. Wow...One year later and I still cannot have it the right way.....I am having problems with my parts.....I feel sooooooo left out..Dam it!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Look at the 3 of you...so good!..I was on the pre-op diet twice and they cancelled my surgery the first time because someone had an emergency...So I spent 2 horrible weeks drinking this Protein slime for nothing...Before I started that pre op they told me to leave the hospital and pick up the slime on my way out...I did that..And I started right away with no cheats.. When I found out I was rescheduled for the 2nd time I thought about it and decided that I would eat what I wanted until the 2 weeks came up again...I lost 27 lbs..the first 2 weeks and after, ate what I wanted and felt that it was a good decision for me personally....the second time I lost 1 lb. more.....The only regret I have is that I now know a year later that there is no food that you cannot eat. Food in a limited space but non the less food.... When after all was said and done and I was over 6 months with out eating anything..I was pleased as punch that I had my funeral...Would not recommend it to anyone...But for me it was a good memory that took me through a loss of 95 lbs. to follow....while in the hospital being fed on a tube. No excuses just did not see it like others do..By the way...6 months without eating really detoxes a body...So there was a big nothing going on for me..I had to learn to eat again..They actually had to teach me how to swallow and move food around my mouth....I thought about the good old days and even though I would never want to ever do that again..For me it was good stuff......
  21. I think woman did that in the sixties...no wait it was meet your husband at the door wrapped in cellophane...hehehehehe
  22. funeral...nah I had mardi gras...Days and days of things I thought I would never ever eat again...It was bad! the last meal I had was my all time favorite.... After I had the sleeve for a long time I was glad I did it..But as time goes on I realized I can eat almost anything I want..just not so much so it was kinda fruitless really... but what is done is done!!!
  23. Robert Burns eh..well aren't we the romantic....Thank you..you made me smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
