I just got off of Skyping with a friend in the good ole USA.

She just asked me if I was planning on losing anymore weight...I said sure I am not at goal yet..Which she then replied are you crazy...You have no double chin anymore..you need to really examine what your doing and stop this ridiculous notion of losing more weight

I laughed and said that I would think about it.....I was joking...She said think hard!

Yikes!!!!!!

I get this everyday at work. Since they don't understand I just try to ignore them. I said I'd tell that one person that I'm still consider overweight but got too busy at work. It's hard to let it go. But, My nutritionist told me early on that people will say theses things but don't listen to it. Keep going on it your Journey beside you Doing Fabulous even in tough times. You inspire and encourage me!

I think it was the double chin thing that got her as she said she still had one......I should have said yah but look at all the loose skin..that might have made her feel better!!! No/yes

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!

From To A Louse by Robert Burns.

In this poem the narrator notices an upper class lady in church, with a louse that is roving, unnoticed by her, around in her bonnet. The poet chastises the louse for not realising how important his host is, and then reflects that, to a louse, we are all equal prey, and that we would be disabused of our pretensions if we were to see ourselves through each other's eyes.

Through her eyes you are oblivious of the danger of wasting away, through your eyes she is a well intentioned but uninformed, alarmist buttinski.

I think you have it right but that is through my eyes. :mellow: :D

Funny, I was just texting my cousin and she was saying the same thing to me -that I don't need to lose anymore. I wish it were true!

I got this same attitude from my mother when I told her my surgeon's goal is 127 (the heaviest I can weigh and still have a healthy BMI)....She means well, but she was not a happy camper, thinks I'll be underweight....she forgets I used to weight 110 throughout my teens and as a young adult-----and back then my doctor felt 110 was too heavy for my frame

that being said, I feel like a hypocrite.....met up with the person who introduced me to VSG a year ago, and I think she is now too thin......and no, I didn't share my opinion with her.

The " official charts" are a joke.

I am a 5' 10" man with a large frame.

The " charts" say I should be between 130-160 pounds. Have you ever seen a normal 5' 10" man that was 130 pounds.

Hw= 285

Cw= 223

Goal weight. 185-200. By Spring 2014.

If I lose 85-100 pounds, I'll be a normal healthy man.

They really say you should be 130-160?! Holy crap! That's what my goal is and I'm 5'3 woman lol! My husband is 5'10 190lbs and looks "thin". My chart says I should be 117. I think I'd be just bones!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

      Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
      I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
      I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
      My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
