beyond furious with Humana
Wow!!!!!!!!!! That is horrible!!!!!!!

Carbonated beverages
Well some people drink it anyway..But this is how it was explained to me by my nut on Monday....No matter how flat you make soda it still contains bubbles...If you make it a habit drinking it then the bubbles expand in your pouch..Eventually, actually in a very short time you can stretch your pouch out and eat more which is the exact opposite of why we had these WLS done. She told me that the first red flag that goes up for failure is someone drinking pop of any kind!!!! If you do it once then and it does not effect you you may do it again and so on and so on and so on....Until you stretch your pouch!

Dehydrated
GET some G2 Gatorade and drink 1/2 G2 and 1/2 Water..If you do this every day it will help your dehydration....It builds electrolytes.... I don't understand why they don't tell people about that....Saves you from going to emerg for dehydration....K

Am I stretching my pouch?
Dense foods fill your pouch faster and you get the feeling of fullness from it. More liquid like food like yogurt you can probably eat more....But there again should you!? If you make it a habit to over eat you will in fact stretch your pouch. But not your pouch really. A bulge will form in your large intestine at the bottom of the flap.....Our body is resilient and accommodates us even when it is the wrong choices...So you would feel hunger again and be able to east almost as much as before...But is that the goal? No! The goal is to fix the issues that caused you to become an addict. fix the mind and fix the body..they go hand in hand... It absolutely does not come down to who can eat more...it comes down to success and learning the triggers and having the will power and courage to change...That is why it is called a journey not a sprint... The pouch or sleeve give us the opportunity to get it done before our stomachs do relax. Fix our relationship with food and putting it in the proper place is a real success story.....K

Older people can lose a lot of weight with the sleeve!
Congratulations on an relatively easy journey so far...Some of us have not had an easy time of it but feel like you in that it has been worth it.... Thank you for sharing your journey with us!!!!

Dreaming of success, literally.
Oh, I am not into interpreting dreams but I love where you went with that one..Tell me were you thin in the dream? When I dreamed in my life time I was always thin. Don't know why but it is true!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad !
It is funny but I never use the word stall...I use the word rest!..body at rest.... I never experienced one stall so far or gain either...2 reasons. I don't weigh myself that much only every 1 or 2 months...As I hit goal I will have to switch it up to once a week to keep track better. But for now...nope! I believe that the body is a magnificent machine and will protect itself from invaders and extreme circumstances.. like illness. it goes into shut down when something drastic happens to it out of the ordinary...Reserves its strength and restarts the regular flow of life when it feels safe... Our body's are like a huge city. Everything works because it is in unison. One thing is connected to the other..When something changes that, it takes defensive action and grinds to a halt.... Once it realizes that things are okay and it is being fed and all is well it starts up again...And lets that change happen until next time it is threatened.... Isn't the body amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I think so... First it made do with the extra weight that we constantly put on it and adjusted so we could carry it and live with it and keep moving..Mind you not at full capacity but it held its own... Not until it could not take it anymore did it do the same thing... Shut down our metabolism and went into protecting itself.... Don't worry about these rest periods..once your body feels safe it will start the engines again and travel forward with weight loss until it feels threatened again... Incredible isn't it that we are made this way!!!!

I'm Finally On The Loser's Bench!
Congratulations so far..................now the real work begins...

Have you also changed between the ears?
I think that is tremendous growth that you can identify and change a behavior that you feel wasn't in your best interest. Good for you! I can't imagine going to public places and entertaining others. You must have been exhausted all the time! I like your way of dealing.....You went on no matter what and did not let them destroy who was really inside...I admire that! Nothing wrong with being a " strong personality " That is probably what kept you going and keeping you strong through out your times of problems in your life..... I am one of those people who have the ability to feel what is going on around me..To be able to look at a person and know if they are happy or not....Hell if I let myself I can tell if they had sex the night before...It is awful...Sometimes I just want to put blinders on.....I learned to be that way to protect myself as a child..To know what the mood was at home before it exploded in my face..... Sometimes I just never looked and like you refused to think about it..But as time went on I could no longer do that....It was so painful! I have made changes as well....Some good some not as I am more cautious about people then I used to be and I hold back more then I used to. I no longer entertain people when I am at the doctors office and engage everyone in laughter to hide behind it like I used to.... Now it is so boring when I go to appointments..But you know what?! I now decide when I want to entertain..not because I am trying to hide behind it.... The new me does not see it as a necessary thing to do anymore! I like your attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about having the ability to look around and assess the lay of the land. I can do that, too. What I don't do is absorb it and take it on as my own. But I know exactly what you are saying, because I see my mother do that. She really feels what she observes others feeling. I think it makes people like you much more empathetic, but also can be exhausting and counterproductive for you. I do think it's a wonderful human quality and the world is a better place for having people like you in it. The trick is to not let it eat you alive Anyway, I like your attitude, too! You hit the nail on the head..i would entertain everyone and after get in my car and on the way home feel like I had no strength left......I suffer from depression as well so it was another reason I became the comedian...It would not allow me to panic in the situations.... I felt like I was 2 completely different people all the time....Now I am more so letting the real me emerge..Sorta like " ready or not here I come ". Thank you for your thoughts they mean a lot to me..

Advice/Suggestions
You know what! Making this choice holds a boatload of pros and cons...Put the pros and cons down on paper and read it..The one thing that sticks out the most on the lists will tell you how you really feel about this decision. That said....You could save yourself a life time of weight struggle..Ups and downs..Ruining your body and your mind getting more worked up and confused. Only you can decide if this is the right course for you...I have read on here about others as young as you doing this...I have read on here other women who have had it done and got pregnant and still were successful...It is all up to you! The sleeve is a tool. Not a fix...Changing how we see food and our relationship with food has to change...Digging deep to find out why it holds such power over us is half the battle....Fix the brain/fix the body. They go hand and hand! With or without surgery you have a worthy goal in mind for yourself..Talk it over with hubby. Keep him in the loop and decide what is best for you and your family....K

I met my new trainer today..He is very nice..We talked for over an hour and he laid out his plans for me...The next 8 weeks we will see each other 2 times a week..Each time he comes he will teach me a new move so that I can start building up lost muscle mass... The next will be once a week and so on...I have to start walking 8000 steps a day...Crap that is a few Kilometers like over 6. That's 4 miles a day........I better get started I think..yikes! Have to purchase 2 lb weights and 3 lb weights and a ball.. that you sit on.... So it begins..Soon I will have muscles that show...lol.......I hear Rocky going off in my head!!!!!!

At first I would say 380 in a very hushed tone..Took me weeks to tell my hubby how much i weighed.............Now to hell with it..That is not me any longer that was the old scared me......... I am down 182 lbs...that is magnificent if I do say so myself~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of my weight loss and on here I share it because I know there are others who understand that it is a big deal and big achievement. If I can't be honest with people who are struggling with the same issues.. Then I will never be able to be honest with myself...And hun...........you did that just now........................Super duper you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?
- What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?
I am glad you asked!!!!!!!!! Before my surgery I drank on the average 3 liters of Water a day......Loved it, drank it, and had no issues...After surgery I no longer had the capacity to drink that much water so now I aim for 64 oz. When you are sleeved you will find that your tastes have changed and also the feeling in your sleeve that happens when you eat or drink. There is a restriction for a while and it is very difficult to do what they want you to do at first...Get 64 oz of water in..plus 60 m of Protein...It seems so much a huge amount. For the size of your sleeve...You feel like all you are doing is eating and drinking water all day long and not easily either....It becomes tedious and can be painful because our new sleeve is temperamental at first.... But as time goes by it does get easier to take that much in.....But like me others have found that just water makes them feel awful...i have to add flavor to it unless i am really warm.... Just as important as protein is, so is the consumption of water to keep you hydrated and help tone muscles and help you to lose weight.....It also aids in keeping you regular.....K- What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?
You are wise beyond your years...that was scary............- What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?
Are you kidding me..............I would have thrown out everything he said about everything!!!!!!!!!! For Pete's sake!!!! - What are you NOT doing (but supposed to)?
