  1. However if your temp. continues to rise even though you are taking Tylenol....Contact your Doc. ASAP
  2. NO..I do not agree..Any fever at this stage of the surgery is worth looking into...You need to check this out ASAP. Do you feel sick to your stomach or dizzy?..Do you feel full and almost full to exploding?....Are your incisions puffy or leaking?...If you feel any of these things....Go now do not wait for your Doctor to call you tomorrow....K
  3. The waiting list is very long here..We only have a small number of surgeons who do this kind of surgery...they are getting more of them..but it still takes a long time to get it here.. The only thing that jumps the line is if it is critical!
  4. Also you know what I don't understand! That if they are truly your friends would they want you to do things the easy way or the hard way...If they were friends they would not even say such a thing.....True friends want the best for you.....
  5. Tell them that having your stomach 80-85 % removed from your body and then healing and changing your entire thinking and feelings about food and struggling to work on the addiction that food has played in your life and that you have made a commitment to do this for the rest of your life and that they know nothing about what has gone on in your life for you to make this decision.....Dealing with saggy skin and loss of hair and stupid remarks like they are making will not endear themselves to you as you take this so called east way out... In my books they are taking the easy way out because they have the choice to go back and choose to eat a lot or not. Go off their diets for special occasions or not..To gain it all back because they never fixed what was wrong in their heads... If they really think you took the easy way out then they are not friends at all..They should be supporting your decision not ridiculing it..... I think they are afraid of what you are about to become..A new stronger healthier person that they may have to find someone or something else to make themselves feel better about their short comings.... It is so much easier to look at someone else and say Well at least...If they lose that...well we will see won't we! So it for you hun and tell them that is exactly who you are doing it for...It is your turn and your journey!!!!!!
  6. I waited 4 years for my sleeve...I just tried very hard to keep it from my mind until I got the call saying I was up next...Then things happened fast....they wanted to make sure I was done before 55..In Canada some surgeons won't do the sleeve after that..Instead they do the by-pass
  7. Thank you and for all of your answers! Your awesome and a real trooper on here..I admire your strength!
  8. Beach lover you got this.....your doing great kid!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I body building site said no higher then 100....the 110 kills the enzymes but not the Protein.....That's what I read and the guy is a nutritionist....
  10. I looked this up on a body builders site..Maybe it will help: Heating up Protein will not have any detrimental effect. Heating up enzymes (protein catalysts) will most probably denature them and destroy their function. Unless you wish to ingest functional enzymes (not likely) heating up a Protein shake is totally fine.
  11. Change in weather and stress of going back to work and also the dreaded viruses other people or the air carry.....Get better soon!!!!!!!!
  12. That just sucks!!!!!Take care!!!
  13. I feel in myself that losing a great deal of weight has made me look years older..Maybe it is because of what I went through I don't know. But I look in the mirror and see an old lady...Just a little younger then my mother and she is 80.....crap!
  14. Living in Canada...you do deal with the need for comfort food during the cold days of Winter...But you can take those hardy meals and make them sleeve friendly.. the problem a lot of us have is SD, because of the lack of sunshine...Vitamin D helps and it can help lift your spirits and bring you back to feeling normal instead of the blas!!!!! I hate winter and suffer because of it...I fight, fight and fight some more.....As long as you are fighting you are still alive and moving..... Not perfect either but know I can get moving on the right path after I make a blunder and we all can!!!!!!
  15. Sometimes we can be angels and other times.........yikes..B******S.. Just ask my husband!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
  16. When you get there and you panic..And think in your brain that you must get the hell out of there before it happens.....Asking yourself why you are doing this and having second thoughts... Breath deeply and remember why you are doing this...Relax and let it happen...might as well as you want it done, so don't waste your time panicking.... All the best..Keep us posted...K
  17. I regret not having enough knowledge of the emotional, physical, mental strain that this puts on your mind and body...That even though I searched this surgery for 2 years I went in unprepared for everything that could and did happen to me...i thought I was ready and knew it all... I know now that unless you are here fighting each and every second of this journey and admitting that you are learning as you go....Your lying to yourself............. Regret it.......no! Glad i did it..YES..........Would do it again.......For sure......... Somethings you just never know until you experience them yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wonderful NSV..I too love my leather jackets....Keep up the pace ...Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. They used to have a lackey holding your stomach up so they could get to the liver...Now they have a scoop..It is narrow and it holds the liver in place while the surgery goes on....if your liver is too big it can slip and he might cut you accidentally ...It is all for the good that we shrink it before surgery....
  20. Your a success story..Congrats...Keep us updated with your progress eh.....
  21. And right there is the problem...You wish you had done it on your own......... Well this is where fixing the head comes in...You really need to go deep to find out why you used food as a comfort....It is the same as any other addiction except we still need to eat so it makes it that much harder.... You called this " cheating " really...You had to go under the knife and have them remove most of your stomach and bring you back where you could eat 1 cup of food a meal and you call that cheated.... I think using the word control is also a sign of a big problem...In life we can only control our own actions, not the actions of others....If you are in total control then something is wrong..Life is not about control it is about living it free of the desire to fill a void with food..... I am so happy for you that you are successful. But I feel that you might not have looked deep enough to find the answers to the issues that got you where you were..... Congrats on a great weight loss.....
  22. No doubt in my mind that the band you are wearing around your middle is making you uncomfortable...Your incisions need air to help heal them and your body is still swollen from the surgery..... I was told by my team not to wear those until I started to have extra skin...It would cause problems in the long run if i wore them too soon....Everything is a process...... Hope this helps!
  23. I think I have it..Let me know if you miss it I will send it back......lol
