  1. Do me a favor...Don't fall into the trap of weighing yourself every single day....once a week, every two weeks, or like me every month and a half or longer....So frustrating to be glued to the scale..It does not tell the entire story....Michiganchick is right...good advice from her!!
  2. the first time it was cancelled because an emergency came up and they needed my spot for someone else...So the day before I was called and told in two weeks I would have to start again...Did not bother me much...I had hoped that if something happened to me that someone else would give up there space...And it did happen to me and others had to be rescheduled... I lost 27 lbs before my surgery...I did it by learning how to eat properly and used some of the techniques I was taught by the team before hand. You can work out if you want..But I think your body is going to trick you up be being tired somewhat at this point...After the surgery you need to wait a while while you are healing.... Don' t stress about it...it will come off I promise!!!!
  3. My last supper was curried meatballs and rice...My daughter made it for me...it was to die for...i ate way to much and thought I might die.. The next day was day 1 on pre-op diet....Dang that was hard...but I never cheated...not even once...But so glad I had the food funeral!!!! I think it really helped me to get over it all, and bear down on the pre-op liquid diet.....
  4. Your body has gone into protective mode...Hang in there there is going to be a drop real soon.... By the way..I did the 14 day pre-op diet twice...I think you will have no trouble doing it once.....Stay strong!!!!
  5. You doing soooooo great....your going to be surprised how fast it happens after you start dropping the last bit of weight...it is almost like every 2 weeks now my clothes have to change sizes...I will never see a 2 or 4 maybe not even a 10....I am tall and big boned...Not a tiny girl at all..oh well, I can deal..Never thought i would ever see a large or a 16 again.....
  6. Have to take back the size 18 Slim Fit jeans I bought today and get some size 16...this is getting interesting....Soon it will be size 14 then 12 and then who knows.....yip pee!
  7. I gag every time I drink a Premier Protein drink..But you are right it is the best one and i still drink them when needed....We can only get chocolate here..They say the vanilla is horrible..Have you tried that type....
  8. Nearly as bad....That is giving to much credit to movie popcorn..Have you ever looked up what is really in that butter that they put on it...That stuff can kill you.. You are one smart lady to make your own...good for you!
  9. After I came out of a coma in the hospital and could not walk or talk it was the nursing staff who constantly mentioned that my face was getting smaller, my butt and my legs...When I finally came home and saw myself in a mirror...My mother was staring aback at me..Freaked me right out! My face really showed the loss!
  10. I wish everyone had this kind of easy surgery...congrats to you!!!!
  11. Your butt is supposed to be bigger then his...You carry babies..He can't..It is the way we were made..They have upper body strength and size and we are made to carry children and protect our kidneys...Don't sweat it sweetheart.....
  12. It is a slider food for me but it has not stopped me from eating it...It could make the last 36 lbs. harder to get to..lol
  13. What she says..You always make me laugh....
  14. They look terribly sweet to me....yikes!!!!
  15. I really suggest that you put less down at a time...Your stomach is swollen and freshly sleeved...Trust me..you don't want a leak or anything else to go wrong...... Doing great with liquids..just pushing to much in at a time..... *I hope you continue with your amazing recovery..All the best!
  16. I have only told a few trusted friends and 2 family members besides my hubby and kids ...Most think I had an ulcer repair done and it went bad....I have been able to keep it from everyone...Now they don't even recognize me when I stand beside them...I don't plan on telling those I haven't until the book comes out...lol
  17. Wow that is really showing a loss..Congrats to you...keep swimming....You look great!
  18. 1 year ago I was drinking this slimy Protein shake 4 times a day and never made even 1 error..i was so pumped for the surgery that nothing and I mean nothing could have gotten in my way... Almost a year later and several bumps along the road...I still see myself as a survivor and a success...36 lbs. to go.....Hope, hope, ope I make those last few.....
  19. True the BMI is just a foolish number..But if you are someone who is looking at plastics..Most won't touch you unless your BMI is under 30..... I'm not aiming to stay that low but! I will need help wit hall the extras on me...
  20. Being the marvelous machine that the body is - It will protect itself from harm. It might just think that you are starving yourself and so it stores what little you eat until your brain and body decide it is enough and your getting enough nutrients and you will lose weight again.. We NEED the Protein...It is the backbone of this entire program. Because we have such small stomachs now it is important to get the protein required and Water enough to not dehydrate you...If you are not doing that no matter what you do your body will stall!!!!!!! 34 lbs. is amazing if you really think about it...That's 6.8 lbs a week...You will slow down as well..We all do.... Walking will require more calories..... When was the last time you lost 34 lbs. in 5 weeks..something eh!!!!!
  21. Really could we please have a parade....Your awesome yourself kid!!!!!
  22. I was different then most people..A month out I was in the hospital on intravenous food only due to complications with my sleeve....I did not eat any solids for 5 1/2 months...Not the one to ask that question really...But when I did get home I drank Protein shakes, pudding, broth, cottage cheese, yogurt, apple sauce, scrambled eggs.. Some fish I was able to eat....Oh and peaches..i craved peaches.. Listen to your body..Really take the time to hear what it is telling you..what you need it will tell you..If you crave or am hungry for something figure out what you need...The peaches thing...Vitamin C.. Once I had enough the craving stopped.... This is a life long learning process....It is not going to happen over night and lessons will be learned....You must really learn about yourself and your head verses your body needs......Trust me...It takes work but is so worth it.....
  23. I eat 3 meals and 1 snack a day...Started out eating 3 meals and 3 Snacks..Felt like I was eating all day...Gave that up in a hurry..made me think that I still had done nothing about my eating problem.....So now If I cannot handle it and I have to eat in the afternoon, I am not a Breakfast person..So I don't eat very much then....I will eat nuts or seeds or fruit at those times...Protein first...But if you are hungry during the time you need to wait for another meal..It is a great time to get in your fruit or a little more Protein....If I am extra peckish I will eat nuts..1/4 of a cup and stop... So far it has worked for me... My team said I need to eat 6 times a day....not happening..This has worked for me...
  24. Saggy skin....Depends on your age and yes how much weight you had to lose...I have a big spare tire that drives me nuts..I use shaper tees to keep a lot of that in...The lose skin will be something that a good plastics will deal with in time... Keep up with your water and biotin...It all helps..same with your vitamins...You will have lose skin or not... I would rather have loose skin that I can hide with clothes then be 380 again and be the center of bad attention....Right now...No one knows who I am......It is wonderful to not be the center of attention anymore!!!!
