  8. Will I Be More Sensitive to Alcohol Following Gastric Sleeve Surgery? With Gastric Sleeve Surgery, alcohol absorption remains just as it was before the surgery, so you shouldn't be more sensitive to alcohol per se. Gastric Sleeve Surgery differs from gastric bypass surgery as there is no rerouting of the intestines or malabsorption. To learn more about alcohol absorption and gastric sleeve surgery, please call The Gastric Sleeve Centers at 1-855-690-0559. Can I drink alcohol after having Gastric Sleeve Surgery? It is not harmful for you to drink an occasional glass of wine or other alcoholic beverage after Gastric Sleeve Surgery, but drinking alcohol on a regular basis will likely hinder your loss of weight. Alcohol is very high calories and breaks down Vitamins that your body needs to remain healthy, so talk with your dietitian or surgeon for what amount of alcohol you can reasonably enjoy. Use this phone number and they can help you with the medical reasons for not over drinking after the sleeve...Hope this helps
  9. Ice cream is not considered a liquid in any state...It coats your stomach as it lays there....Neither is pudding or even Jello..Of course others might not agree with the Jello part but that is what my nut told me..... lesson learned eh...good for you!
  10. I'm 5'8'' used to be 5'10" but arthritis...Started at 380 - heading for 170.... My team said that if I stop now it would be wonderful..Don't think so, really want to be in onderland!!!!!
  11. Oh then that explains it...For Pete's sake...stay on the program at least until your sleeve heals..That was taking a huge chance..You don't want complications trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Yes but not with ice cream....It is pretty horrible if you can't throw it up and it just sits there...Obviously your tummy does not like ice cream...learning as you go I see!

  16. I always get " you look pale " Yes maybe I am in your opinion but I am becoming a thin and healthy pale so eat my dust!!!!!!!!! Those comments just add to our own misconceptions about how we see ourselves..... I would rather look pale then fat!!!!!
  17. I am one year on the 6th of Nov. I hear every word and believe it all to be true!!! Congrats to you!!!!!
  18. Well at least they didn't say you took the easy way out then...that one really gets me mad!!!!!
  19. It is considered not a good idea for the first while until you get the intake of water under control..coffee or anything with caffeine is a diuretic and so that is part of the reason they are a no no for the first while.....
  20. Glad you found one I shall be able to sleep tonight knowing that hun......hehehehehehe all the best!!!!!!!!
  21. Oh....this is definitely a time to stop weighing yourself...You are going to drive yourself crazy...no doubt in my mind that it is Water retention that is still trying to flush out the stuff they gave you before during and after surgery. Your body went through a huge ordeal and it will deal with it as it sees fit.. When you have major surgery which this was your body works to heal and fix what has happened to it...adjust! When your body feels threatened by weight loss it will stop losing and store fat in your cells for later. Once your body heals and decides it is still being fed it will lose weight again... Stop weighing yourself every day....that is maddening....Hit the scale with a brick if you have to...Just weigh about once a week or once every 2 weeks or once a month or like me every 2 months or so...... The numbers are not the beginning and end all of this journey..It is for life and it will take time for everything to get back to so called normal.....
  22. I meant 80 year old mother....hahaha....she would have been 5 when she had me if she were 60....Striking that's the ticket!!!!!
  23. I look in the mirror and see my 60 year old mother staring back at me...gives me the shivers..... Then someone told me the other day I am a striking woman..that was nice..never saw that coming...And to top it off I was winked at twice this weekend by...should I say it good looking men...Anyway..I think it might be my perception of myself or these people are all nuts.. I think I'll go with the striking comment...works for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. For Pete's sake..I would have killed for egg drop soup....mannnnnnnnn!
