    Great exercising!!! Kudos to you!!
I think that most of us have decided that MFP's exercise data is a bit inaccurate. In fact, it gets me so aggravated that I don't even log my exercise!!

The fancy one is almost $500 at costco. It is REALLY worth that much? And if so, please tell me why. What can it do that a good Oster blender or food processor can't do? And if it is worth it, how had it helped postop.
    Thanks!!

doxieville got a reaction from Lissa in Gallbladder Surgery...gone horribly wrong!
Oh lissa!! That's so not good!!! You are such a motivation to many people here, me included. I am so sorry this happened to you. When i had my GB out 6 weeks after my WLS, I had a terrible reaction to the anesthesia. Ya know, either people are reporting it more or it's happening more often. It's not uncommon to have a reaction anymore, and that's kinda scary.
Have they given you any indication of what to do for a weak heart muscle? Exercise more? Less?
I am so glad you are ok. PLEASE let us know on here when you go back in for your GB removal. We are powerful in numbers and we will send prayers, positive thinking, good wishes and all that good stuff for a successful surgery.

I bet you pulled something. It could be referred pain from an internal stitch somewhere else. 12/10 isn't that long ago. It can take several months for all the various twinges to totally disappear. Just take it easy for the next few days.

I burp or hiccup or burp. I really like what another member on here (twoley?) suggested. Divide what you measured out to eat in half. Put only half of the food on a plate. Eat. Pause for about 10 minutes. If still hungry, then go back for the rest. That avoids overeating. If you put it all on your plate, the tendency is to eat it all.

I feel sorry for you that your concept of "beliefs" is so twisted that you go crazy over someone offering you well meant support to help you feel better about your situation. You made one thing clear and that is you are rude, and we all know what they say about karma

SERIOUSLY?? Omg! What a jerk. You are losing weight at a perfect pace. I am continually stunned at how awful and unprofessional doctors are these days. What on earth is going on that they treat patients w such disrespect? I am sorry that happened to you. Hugs!

This is an excellent post, BTB. I just want to a comment, which will probably be controversial.....
But this is why I think (my opinion, no need for anyone to flame me) is why people with low BMI's shouldn't get this surgery as a 'preventive measure.' It just doesn't work long enough to be used as a preventive measure. It' s a tool to temp restrict intake so you can learn how to eat while losing weight. The losing weight is the reinforcement needed to keep people on track. If you don't get that reinforcement because you don't have much weight to lose, then why have the operation in the first place? It's not going to keep you from overeating 5 years from now.

I must say I'm a little taken aback by the number of posts I've read on this forum recently by people who seem genuinely surprised that you can gain weight after having surgery. Whether it be Water retention during that first month (3 week stall) or simply 9 months down the line and someone is eating crappy foods and not following their plan anymore....it is most certainly possible. In fact, no matter what type of WLS you have, a person who is determined can eat around it. This is why most of us are forced to have a psych eval and see a NUT several times before surgery...so we understand this is not fool proof.
This is not meant to be a criticism of anyone here. My real concern is why aren't your doctors and NUTs driving these points home with you before surgery? My surgeon made me sign a document stating I understood I had to eat right and exercise for the rest of my life or the surgery wasn't going to help me.
If I could say one thing to everyone it would simply be that the surgery will not do everything for you. You have to eat the right things, and you need to exercise. The sleeve helps initially. But as time goes by the sleeve does less and less, and you have to do more. The people I've seen here who have been successful are those that embraced those changes and learned better eating habits while they were still in the honeymoon phase, so when their capacity to eat increased they made better, healthier choices and maintained their goal weight.

doxieville got a reaction from Sadlers1999 in 33 BMI and scheduled for VG...
My answer isn't going to be the popular one.....I personally would not have the surgery. Recently there have been people with horrific outcomes. Probably because the surgery is becoming more popular, so stats go higher. There is no guarantee that everything will go ok, there just isn't.
I needed to lose 100 pounds and had severe health issues. The weight was making my health worse and it was a Catch-22. I was ok with knowing that things could go wrong because my life sucked pre-surgery.
But please know that I don't walk in your shoes. Nobody does but you. It could be life changing for you, and if you decide to have the surgery, then I hope it is. Just make sure you weigh all the pros and cons beforehand.
