Nice! Hey, it's 50 lbs! Love that.
I am in the 'slow but steady' group as well. Well, slower than I would prefer. I'm hoping I can say I've lost 30 in 3 months!

It sounds like it may have been too heavy for you. It has been five months but you want to still take it easy. Call you doc on Monday!

thank you all for the advice, i deeply appreciate it, went to the doctor today and he recommend me to see my primary care doctor right away, he also told me to start the exercise routine, continue with the protein and LOTS of water daily, he thinks i may be dehydrated, so i will listen to him and make sure i do all that, 2 months ago he said my blood work was normal but he wants me to have another one in 2 weeks bc i see him again on 1/24/12. I feel confident that following his advise i will definitely get/feel better :-)
Again, thank you all for the advice !!

Working out takes effort but it is self-perpetuating.
In other words, you need to make the effort, and DO IT, before you feel the increased energy you will feel from doing it. The more exercise you do, the more energy you will have, and in many cases, that will lead to a desire to exercise.
The simple fact is that exercise requires effort, and most people have no inherent natural desire to do something that requires serious effort. Most people go directly to reward/gratification/pleasure and prefer to pass the effort/work/discomfort required to receive the payoff.

If you can't choke down the protein drinks then be SURE to EAT protein before you eat anything else. This is vital to your energy level. Get some protein bars too. Look for "Think Thin" protein bars. They taste good and will not kill you on calories and fat and carbs. Lots of protein in them. Snack on beef jerky. Have tuna for lunch, eggs for breakfast and a try some grilled chicken on a salad at night. cottage cheese and fruit for an evening snack. Get that protein in anywhere you can. If you have yogurt, have Greek yogurt, as it is higher in protein. Yoplait makes a 100 calorie Greek. Very good.
I'm cold too. I'm sitting here right now just freezing solid!!! VEry weird for me.

I was always cold too. until I started the vitamin B-12 shots. I take them once a week , and you should take your vitamins and protein. I know it's hard sometimes, but try and eat beans, cheese, fish, and cottage cheese if you will not take protein shakes.

But think back to your last diet... how much had you lost, 8 weeks out? When is the last time you lost 30 lbs in two months. I think that's PHENOMENAL! Also, check your clothes and your inches. I read somewhere (probably nowhere, maybe I made it up) but we don't lose lbs and inches at the same time. When the scale stops moving, I check my inches. Always a change. Can you wear smaller clothes? Are your baggy clothes super baggy? Fat pants looking ridiculous? Feet flopping around in your shoes?
How do YOU FEEL? Breathing better? Climbing stairs with no pain? Can stand without a backache? Lots of NSV's to look for that have nothing to do with the scale. I am PRAYING for at least 30 lbs in two months... I think you're doing great.
As far as hunger, I have heard the more protein you get in, the longer you stay full.
    Keep on keepin' on.

Nope you are not the only one I am 9 weeks post-op today. I have lost 42 pounds and continue to have stalls but I am still losing major inches all of my clothes are falling off me. I can look at myself naked now and not feel nauseous...(lol). Even tho the scale is moving the inches are falling off.... Don't say only 30 pounds because that is still a major accomplishment. Start working out if you haven't already and continue eating right and the scale will start to move again....
    Wishing you the best

Every body loses differently. I'm 4 months out, and have lost 45 pounds. What has been weird for me, is days when my clothes are bagging and sagging.....the scale will read I haven't lost anything or even gained a couple of pounds. Very odd.
I don't weigh daily, or even weekly.......I just eat and keep moving and grooving. I figured the scale obsession - and impending discouragement - I had for multiple years was part of how I got to 264# in the first place.
As long as the clothes are getting looser.....you are winning the race!

I do understand how you feel. I am 3 months post op, and I have only lost 35 pounds. I do exercise 5 x a week. I guess Im just going to take it off slow. As long as I keep loseing Im not going to worrry about it.

Well my doctor had me after a week start me exercising 20-30 minutes a day, so not sure why the 3 month wait unless perhaps there is a health condition that would prevent you from doing so. Of course listen to the doctor but you can always question the doc too. Don't worry it'll come off make sure you are getting your protein in. It should be your new mantra Protein Protein Protein!

You are going in the right direction! You are 25# less than you were a while ago. If you should stall....you can
always print out your diet tracking and have the nutritionalist look at. Good luck!

We all lose at different rates, some do lose fast and some of us are lucky to lose a pound a week or less. The good news about losing slowly is that your skin has time to catch up to your weight loss. I figure as long as the weight is going down or even staying the same its all good because its better than having the weight go up!! My Dr says that "its a marathon and not a race".

This could be a form of dumping. They say it doesn't happen with the sleeve, but it sure happened to me a few times. Food moves into the intestine too quickly. If it was soup and a bit rich or sugary, it makes perfect sense. Eat slow...one spoonful every 3 minutes. If you're early on, you may still be healing.

I'm 8 months out and this will still happen to me if I eat food that is too rich and if I eat too much of it too fast. Too rich, meaning....too fatty. A cream soup could do that if you're in early stages. Especially if eaten too fast.

Could also be that the food is too tough. Are you having milk/ dairy products? I have the same issue after eating but surgeon said it may be an intolerance to lactose foods or "rich" foods. Keep Track of what you have eaten when this happens and you may see a pattern if you have a developing intolerance
