  1. I've been Barisaxy as long as I've had an email address. I play the baritone saxophone and the short name is bari sax. Not too long ago, barisaxy was taken! (someone stole my name!(lol)). So I had to add lady at the end. I even have a tattoo of my bari sax on my leg and it says Bari Saxy! Always wanted a license plate with that on it.
  2. I'm so mad at myself. Only lost 9 of the 12 surgeon wanted so onto full liquids starting Monday. Ugh! Fortunately bought thing of Unjury chicken broth at hospital today. Was surprised to see their pharmacy carries Unjury. Tried the isopure today too. Leaves a strange taste in your mouth but was decent. Expensive as all get out though. Still pissed at myself. At least I won't be tempted to cheat and eat in the new car I am picking up in a bit.
  3. Smoking is bad PERIOD! My hospital won't operate on you unless you quit and pass a nicotine test. Why don't you take this opportunity to make yourself healthier all around and quit.
  4. Can someone explain the whole gas pain in the shoulder to me? Makes absolutely no sense to me. I've seen it mentioned before. How can you get gas pain in your shoulder from abdominal surgery?
  5. I had to choose a doc and said it really didn't matter. Didn't know anything about either of them! So I went with whomever could get me in sooner. I was told I had to have a primary surgeon but that they assisted each other so both would be there. Dr El Chaar is a cutie. Just got married a few weeks ago. We were all discussing 50 Shade of Gray in the OR when I had my EGD!
  6. Hello all. Surgery scheduled for Sept. 25. What do I tell my 3.5 and 5 year olds. I really don't think my 3.5 year old will notice anything but my 5 year old will wonder why my belly hurts and why I'm not eating anything (especially when I am encouraging her to eat her dinner!) I know she won't understand WLS but I think I might have to tell her something.
  7. Oh my goodness that's a crazy list beefalogal! Thanks so much for taking the time to put it together. It really puts everything into prospective. We are totally not alone in this. And this is just September and people in this forum. There are tons of folks out there that don't know about this group or just read without posting. Totally makes me feel more at peace with myself for having this done.
  8. So I finally told my sister and she is behind me which was a huge relief! Now onto mom. Will probably make a special trip out to see her o tell her. Hate to tell her over he phone. It will only be one week before the surgery but that's the only time I have. My sister recently had some medical problems and was very secretive around my mom about it. Not exactly sure why but that's her business. But moms hurt over this and my waiting so long I think will just compound the problem. I wish she would realize we are both adults, both in our thirties. I really think that she raised us to be so independent, it's backfiring on her! Sheesh, my other sister lives in New Zealand so she know next to nothing about what's going on in her life. Sorry, starting to ramble. Just very nervous about telling her but I feel I need to. Maybe she will surprise me and offer to come out and help with the kids. Will keep everybody posted.
  9. Funny How they say not to have a last supper though most do. How can you not? had a cheese steak at the fair fully aware it is my last cheese steak for a long while, maybe ever and I'm okay with that. But since I only have those cheese steaks once a year at that fair, I would felt deprived if I didn't have it.
  10. Hi Justine. (been wanting to say hi to you for a while, Justine is my daughters name!) have you known for a while you only have to do 48 hours or was this prescribed because you lost what was requested? I so hope I don't have to do two weeks liquid.
  11. Have you been to a therapist? You need to address this issue before the surgery. Surgery is not a a cure all. It is a tool that you have to learn how to use correctly or you are setting your self up for failure. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
  12. Don't think about it! It will only make matters worse! You can do it! You go girl!
  13. I so hope I don't have to do the pre-op liquid diet. I meet with surgeon on Thursday so I will find out then. I'm down 6 of the twelve he wants. Really have to buckle down this week and loose the next 6. Surgery sept 25.
  14. So annoyed right now! I begged my husband not to work on my school holiday, sept 17 & 18 because I was hoping for surgery one of those days. Got Sept. 25 instead. Just got a call from surgeons off that they have an opening on the 17 th! Yea! But now hubby is rolling his eyes at me because he is scheduled to work on those two days! If he would of just listened to me, this wouldnt be an issue. Really considering pushing the issue because it would give an extra 9 days to heal before going to Disney in November.
  15. I can't wait to not be the fat teacher in the staff of a bunch skinny minis.
