I have been the one that had to get off off of a ride because I didn't fit.. Just awful.. I also commute by air to work 3-4 times a week.. Often I struggle to bucke the seatbelt .. If I get it at all.. And not to mention the looks I get from my seat mates.. Oh I could go on!!! Just waiting to hear from the scheduler.. Can't wait!!

And I feel absolutely amazing!!! I am down 61.6 pounds since my surgery day! Thanksgiving was not as tough as I thought. I had turkey with no skin, had a bite of a few other things and I was full and satisfied without sabotaging my eating for the day! This was the best decision I have ever made, my only regret is not doing it sooner. This not only saved my life but enhanced it in so many other ways. It is hard to describe how life changing this really is. I have a long way to go still but have had a great start! Just had to share how great I feel

On soft foods at last. Wow after a week of liquid then 3 weeks of puree, it's like heaven

Hey Lynn.. Talk to Alli, she is the one that takes care of FMLA.. I talked to Dr. Curry very early on .. I have lifting, pushing and pulling requirements at work.. They put me out for 4 weeks.. I am at 4 weeks now, and I still feel the need to "baby" my abdominal area.. Kinda nervous about getting back into the work routine..

Hi everyone.. Well I am day 2 post-op.. I feel pretty good.. So good that I overdid it today and felt horriable this evening.. I went in for surgery at 12:30 and I was able to go home at 6pm!!! I can't believe it.. For the most part, I feel really good.. Still taking pain meds, but haven't had to take anything for nausea.. The entire staff at Dr. Currys office are all rock stars!! Rachel & Jakat.. Hope you guys are doing well!!

Oh I am so happy for you!!! This is the NSV that is high on my list.. Most of the time I can't buckle the seatbelt.. I fly almost every week!! Can't wait to be on the losers bench!! 13 days to go!!!

Hey Rachel.. Sorry to hear you are having a hard time.. I start mine on Sunday.. I did one of those physician monitored liquids before.. It didn't last long and neither did I. I am not looking forward to it. I'll probably doing just drinks as well.. When your not eating food.. Dryer Soup just isnt a great alternative ) .. I can't believe your date is getting near.. I am starting to get cold feet.. But I know it's something I need to do.. I'm not worried about the diet after.. Or the pain for that matter.. I think I'm more worried about complications.. I haven't asked Dr. Curry about his personal complication rate with this surgery.. I know he's one of the best, but many times it's not the doc, but your body.. Just kinda freaking a little.. My scope is thurs.. I know you said it was a piece of cake.. But nerves are getting me .. Fill me in on how you are doing.. The 10th will be here soon.. How do I join the local/Ohio group.. How long are you going to be on the pre-op diet? If it's just a week or two, it will be ok... I had to do four weeks and it was brutal.
It's basically packets of flavored "food" that you just add Water to. You get to select what you want. You are supposed to have 5 packets a day plus one Protein bar. They were pretty gross so it was hard to get 5 in. After two weeks I was getting very dizzy and weak from the lack of calories. I almost passed out while working out then I threw up when I got home. I talked to Rebecca and Dr. Curry and they told me to just stop working out! Can you believe that? lol
I still have several boxes left over because I just couldn't stomach it and cheated at least once a week (since I had already lost 65 lbs). These are my suggestions from the choices for the diet, the only things I liked were the crispy Protein Bars (variety pack), most of the Breakfast food is pretty good- pancakes, eggs, and the oatmeal is great (sometimes I ate it 3x a day), the chicken Soup with noodles, chili, Jello. I hated the other Soups, smoothies, pudding, chocolate bars, drink mixes. But, that's just my opinion. I wish someone would have given me a heads up because I ended up going back there and trading a few unopened boxes for more oatmeal. lol

I was approved on Friday, and was hoping I would hear from the scheduler by now.. Getting anxious.. Zebrasprinkles.. Did you have to wait till after your edg to schedule your actual procedure?? Ugh, I hate it when foreigners act like there are no fat people from their country and that obesity is unique to the USA. Obviously stupidity isn't.

It's not what people say, it's the looks of OMG, look at her a**., the making a wide arc when walking around me, the feared look on their face when I go to sit down on one of their chairs.

Two of my all time humiliating moments.. When I couldn't fit on a roller coaster.. I just acted like I changed my mind... It was so embarassing.. And second was when I was on a cruise.. We were at a comedy show with stand ups.. I got up to go to the restroom during the show.. And the comedian said as part of his act.... Lady.. You can get food 24 hours a day.. She's headed back to the buffet!!! I was mortified!!!!
