Half way there!
This morning the scale showed me I was half way to my goal mark! I'm so happy. The sleeve is the best thing I could have done. I'm about 3.5 months out.

ONEderland!
You look awesome! Congrats. It doesn't appear that you had any hair loss in your picture. Any secrets to avoid that?

Looking for Honesty...
Your previous back injury may qualify you. I have severe disc degeneration disease on my L5-S1 and I believed it got me approved without any hassles. I did not have the BMI > 40 for the past 2 yrs (per my insurance requirement). I have, however, had a BMI > 35 over that time period. Good luck!

Time off work
I had my surgery 10/30 and returned to work 11/5. I was a little tired, but over all felt fine. Good luck!

Post Op Day Two, Looking For Guidance
I am 9 days post-op. After day 5, I found I could take bigger sips and my new stomach now prefers cold liquids. The first 5 days it preferred warm liquids. I can drink a lot more now than I could the first few days out. I had a hard time the first few days getting in more than 30 oz. Good luck. It does really get better each day.

Recovering From The Sleeve Gastrectomy
You'll do great! I've heard c-sections are more painful that VSG (although I can not confirm). The drain was the worst part of the entire process...luckily it came out on day 2.

Recovering From The Sleeve Gastrectomy
I had my sleeve surgery last Tuesday. I've never had a c-section, but the pain from the VSG surgery was very tolerable (even after the pain meds wore off). I'm back to work and just getting used to sipping instead of gulping.

Hot Chocolate
Wonderslim makes some. Both the regular and mint flavors are both good. I got mine through dietdirect.com.

Advice Wanted
I initially went in for the lapband consultation and after hearing all the info, I've decided on the sleeve.

Anyone In Minnesota?
Are you close to Winona? I'm on the other side of the river. I'm getting sleeved 10/30 through Marshfield Clinic-Dr. Pitchford. I attend support group meetings there the first thursday of each month. I've done most of the things you've listed, WW, Jenny Craig, HCG...all with some initial success, then ultimately regain, plus a few more. I turned 41 earlier this week. I'll let you know in a few weeks how it went, but so far...I'm super excited to start this new journey.

Now For The Wait.....
Was your Dr. able to give you some info on how to file your appeal? Remember the squeeky wheel gets the grease! Please keep me posted.
-
Now For The Wait.....
From what I read during my journey was after a denial, there is a written appeal, if that doesn't go through, your surgeon/PCP can do a peer to peer review with your insurance company. I found many stories were an original denial was reversed and approved after both scenarios. It's my bday today, and my wish is for your insurance to approve you too!

Now For The Wait.....
Have you had a BMI over 35 over the last 5 years? If so, they should be able to still move forward with your other issues (bhp, arthritis and sa). Who is your provider? If you prefer to say, it's ok.

Now For The Wait.....
It's amazing what surgeons can do with the insurance companies, so I still have a good feeling you'll be getting approval in no time. Hang in there. It will happen for you. There is another forum on obesityhelp that has lots of suggestions on how to get the denials reversed. I had been reading up on that, thinking I would end up having to do that too.

Blab To Everyone, Or "close To The Vest?"
I've told 2 people about my upcoming surgery on the 30th...my husband and best friend. Both of which promised not to say anything to anyone else until I'm ready. I'm sure I'll tell after the surgery, but I just don't want to deal with any negativity before surgery. I just took vacation time from work, so I didn't tell anyone at work.

Now For The Wait.....
I didn't have a BMI over 40 until this past spring. I do have a lower back issue and HBP that is controlled by medication and I still got approved. I'm sending positive vibes you way that your insurance company will approve you ASAP!

I sent you a friend request. Not sure how all that works, since I'm pretty new here.
