I have to chime in on this post. I am only a month out today however I stalled 3 times and the only way to break my stalls was to increase my calories. Sounds strange but thats what worked for me.

How much Protein are you getting?
I'd definitely check in with your doctor one way or another - general achiness can be a sign of lots of things, even ones unrelated to the surgery.

At first I thought I would just have mashed potatoes or something equivalent in consistency, but I figured out yesterday that the number of dishes we will have is about as many bites as I can eat so I will have a small bite of everything so I don't psyche myself out by 8 pm thinking I didn't get to have a Thanksgiving!

I'm making it super easy by staying home by myself All my family lives hours away and because of surgery physically and financially it's not a good idea to undertake a major trip right now. I figure I'll spoil myself by getting some deli turkey and maybe make some carb friendly pumpkin pie or something.

    Hello,
I wanted to tell everyone out there that the post that you guys write have been inspirational. I had my sleeve done 2 days ago. I feel great. I have no complications or problems. I had it hear in Tijuana Mexico. The people here have been so helpful and friendly. The hotel that i am staying at is beautiful. Right now this choice i chose to make is a good one. I will do consistent updates. I will be going home very soon. I fell good right now. Thanks to everyone for the posts of their journeys.

This really disturbed me, so I started looking around.
How easy is it to stretch out my new tummy?
Not easy at all. No such thing has been documented on 5-year studies.
    http://www.endobariatric.com/faqs.htm
YOU CANNOT STRETCH/DILATE out your sleeve to anything remotely close to its original size.
From LapSF/Dr. Criangle: The removed section of the stomach is actually the portion that stretches the most. The long vertical tube shaped stomach that remains is the portion least likely to expand over time and it creates significant resistance to volumes of food.

I would like to know of a study done on this with some actual, valid data.
    Anybody??

If your stomach has stretched back to its original size, then I would be concerned that perhaps your surgeon removed the wrong portion of your stomach. One of the benefits of modern VSG is that they have learned to remove the "stretchy" part and leave the muscle, which is very difficult to stretch. Yes, there will be some difference in the amount you are able to eat at one month, versus six months and even one year, but it should not be like it was prior to surgery. At several years out, it is still difficult for me to eat very much, and believe me, I have definitely tested my sleeve's limits. Now, it may also depend on what you are eating. If you are eating slider foods like ice cream and chips, yep, you can put a lot of that away and it will certainly have a negative effect on your weight loss. But, if you continue to do your best and remember the Protein first rules, you should be fine.

Your stomach can and will stretch. It's a muscle. However it wouldn't happen over a short time of a vacation. You gained weight from bad food choices not from stomach size.

Look at it a different way: I have three kids, one boy and two girls. A friend of mine has three boys. What am I doing wrong to not have three boys? Nothing, of course. We are two different families.
Unless all your friends that have had the surgery are identical clones of you that eat, work, live and breathe in an identical fashion to you every second of the day, it isn't reasonable to compare your weight loss to theirs. That is really the only thing you are doing wrong here- 27 pounds in a couple of months is fantastic.
