  1. Anyone members at planet fitness and have a circuit training section? Man I did the 30 min circuit and it kicked my butt. Felt a nice burn and worked up a good sweat. I recommend trying it.
  2. I have a Protein Shake in the morning, a piece of chicken or a lean turkey patty for lunch, and for dinner I have 4oz tuna or a hard boiled egg. I get done work at 10pm then hit the gym for a hour or two. I first do 30 min of cardio then I weight train with low weight and high reps then I do 15 min cardio. Around midnight I have a Protein Bar. That's pretty much my day in a nutshell. Plus like stated before I believe men lose faster and I have more to lose.
  3. 7 weeks out today. Down 68 lbs. Starting weight 392. Current weight 324. Goal weight is 230-250.
  4. When I started weight training I think I had the same thing. It took about 3-4 days. What helped me was I did more bi n tri workouts 3 days later. I feel your pain tho. I couldn't straighten my arms and when I did it hurt. Hopefully its get better soon. Goodluck.

  10. Hey sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've just finished my pre-op stuff last month(november). I started my whole process back in june. I was in no hurry at all. Back in august Dr. Neff asked when i would like to set a date for, I decided to go with Jan. 7th. I found out that respitory was the longest to get done. During my sleep study I found out i had severe sleep apnea so the pulm dr. wouldnt clear till i used my machine for 30 days and had to get a chest xray and a lung fuction test. I used Dr. Obergon for pulm. But depending on how fast you get your appointments you can get in probaly 4-5 months
  11. January will be here shortly guys/girls. Looking forward to starting a new and healthly lifestyle.
  12. In new jersey they ask if you would like to use the old picture. I personally would get a new pic now and just continue to look back at the id and tell myself never be that way again. Kinda like a permenent reminder. Smile life is to short to worry about a photo.
  13. Has anyone been told to contact your insurance company after the new years to find out if the WLS policies has changed at all?? Anyone have any insight about this??
  14. I'm in new jersey as well. I'm getting my surgery through Kennedy Bariatrics. Dr. Marc Neff. At the Kennedy in Stratford, NJ. Best of luck to you.
  15. Anyone gain weight while doing pre-op test? I feel that once I mentally committed to getting the sleeve and started this process and knowing I wouldnt be able to eat like I do now, I got out of control for a lil bit. I gained 10lbs in 3 months. I felt ashamed when I met with my surgeon for the 2nd time and gained 10lbs. I gotta get mentally ready for this lifestyle change.
  16. Any south jersey people in here. Williamstown here. Getting sleeved Jan.7 2013 by Dr. Marc Neff.
  17. I'll be finishing up my pre-op stuff this tuesday. But have a lot of stuff going on the next couple months, parents and inlaws will be out of town throughout the next couple months. Figured I'd just wait so all my support group could be here, and wait till after the holidays. I really want the surgery ASAP but with the busy schedule, and trying to fit in surgery will be too stressful on the wife and I.
  18. Anyone planning on getting sleeved Jan. 2013? Haven't seen anyone talking bout Jan yet. Looked at the monthy groups and it goes up to December 2012. I plan on getting sleeved Jan. 7th.
  19. Hello VSG world. Had my pysch appointment this morning. Got cleared. I kinda worked myself up thinking what kind of stuff they would ask me. It was pretty painless. Longest and hardest part was filing out all the new patient paperwork. She asked me if i knew what the surgery was about. Do I understand it's a lifestyle change. I will only be able to eat small amounts of food. Have I ever taken psych meds. How was my childhood. How was highschool. Told me 3 words at the start of the session and halfway through it she asked what those words were(hair, dog, money). Asked me to spell WORLD and asked me to spell it backwards. Made me repeat a couple sentences. Asked me what I would do if I seen a letter on the ground next to one of those big blue post office boxes.( I said I would look at it and keep on moving. She laughed.) Then asked me what I would do if I seen a house with smoke coming out of the window. Asked what I did for work, change in my sleeping habits. Any family history of mental illness. What kind of support group do I have. Pretty much just smalled talked with me for the rest of the session, being that I work as a nurse on a mental health unit in a prison. She was pretty intrigued with my job. Hopefully this little rant helps answer some questions you guys have about upcoming psych appts.
  20. From what I understand, the chances of the hernia re-tearing decrease after weightloss rather then during. My dr. said as long as it doesnt bother you, its better to wait.(Atleast in my case.) Basically, bigger tummy=more of chance it will re-tear/ smaller tummy= less chance it will re-tear. Hope this little bit of info helps. Good luck.
