  1. Hi, A friend of mine who had surgery in January asked me, because I had surgery in August when its ok to have seeds. I always come here to get the answers. Thanks
  2. Thats about 3 months agao, but thank you for the compliment and I do appreciate your honesty on the diet pill question.
  3. Thank you! That is why I come here and ask, because I know I will get honest answers.. You are all right, I have the tool and just need to get back to using it better!. Thank you~
  4. So I am 7 months post op and I am down 50 pounds give or take a pound. I have 15 more till I hit goal. I will admit, lately I have eaten alot of junk, if everyone at work would bring in fruit instead of cupcakes I would be alot better off. So I still have a bottle of phentermine from my Dr, I know if I take it, I can jump start some weight loss. Has anyone taken any kind of diet pill since getting sleeved?
  5. It is only natural to be nerveous, but you are heading towards the first day of your new life!. You will be so happy and excited when the weight comes off that you will never be nerveous again. The clear diet is hard, not going to lie, but you can do it! Congratulations!
  6. I had surgery on August 15th and I am down 37 pounds, which I really feel good about. I have not eaten a single piece of candy or surger since June and then....it's HALLOWEEN of course I bought way to much candy, and now it is sitting there calling my name. When I left for work this morning I brought a huge bag in for the office and I told my husband, do something with the rest of it, I do not want to see it. I totally have will power, I mean I have sat a huge Italian dinners and eaten only what I am supoose to, but between Wednesday night and this morning I have had 4 mini butterfingers, 2 packs (3 in a pack) of sweet tarts and if I am not careful I will have a partridge in a pear tree!!...I am hitting the treadmill double time tonight!! Anyone have any good ideas as to what to do to stop the Halloween, upcoming holiday rush of food? I am all ears.

    Unjury Or Isopure?

I have used alot of different protein powders over the years and Unjury is by far the best I have ever had.
  8. I just ate chocolate chip ice cream because I HAD TO!!! (yeah right) tomorrow, I will get up at 5:15 am and do 30 minutes on the treadmill and put today behind me. I am eight weeks out and I just think that its normal every now and then to slip up. Dont beat yourself up and dont make your self puke!!!....we are all here for you and have been in your shoes.

    Books

I just finished a book called "I had weight loss surgery, now what do I do". Its hard to find books specific to sleeve but I did read The Gastric Sleeve by Dr. Alverez advertised on this site. I also bought the weight loss surgery cookbook for dummies, it has some great receipes and was written by a chef who actually had WLS. there is alot of stuff on the web, but I learned more on this site than I did from any book. Good Luck
  10. I am 49 years old and I walked in to my first appointment thinking I would have lapband, on August 15th, I had the sleeve. After some research, this is what I learned, 33% of all lapbands eventually have to be removed, they become ineffective because there is only so much tightening they can do. Many people who have the band gain back a high percentage of their weight over time. I am 4'11' and needed to lose about 70 pounds. Read everything you can find on both surgeries. I felt like I had done so much research I could of assisted with the surgery. I can tell you for certain, I have not one regert having the sleeve done, I would do it again tomorrow. There will always be someone who thinkgs its crazy or drastic, but its your skin you have to live in. For me, I was not comfortable in my own skin and today 5 1/2 weeks post op, I feel the best I have in years. Your right, its a personal decision that you have to make, so dont let the feelings of others get in your way. I am
  11. I think it has more to do with the confidence someone has after the surgery vs before. Being overweight, I know that I didnt feel comfortable in my own skin, so I bascially cut myself off from the outside world. I quit going everywhere I was invited. Now that I am down 30, I feel so much better about me and it shows. So maybe that is what your sister has experienced and so will you. Good luck with your surgery, I wish you all the best.

    I Did Feel Good...

Do you have a fever? are you short of breath? You should probably call your surgeon. You need to let them know, the last thing you need is to have a blood clot or a leak issue.
  13. There is also a book called "how to overcome emotional eating" by Joy Bauer. Its a really easy read and she speaks from experience. I found it very eye opening.

    Still Cant Get Protein

That is true, but it's sip sip sip!. My Dr told me up until 4 weeks dont worry about getting all the protien in, its more important to stay hydraded. You will get there...hang in
  15. These are the right steps in the right direction. I am a firm believer in doing research and getting all the info I can. I joked with my Surgeon that I thought I could do the surgery myself with all the research I had done. Ill make one more book suggestion its called "Okay... I've Gone Through Weight Loss Surgery, Now What Do I Do?!". I just ordered it myself, but it came highly recommended. Keep us posted, let us know how your doing.
