I was sleeved on 8/10 @ 242lbs. I'm 5'3"(no pre-op). As of this morning I am 216. I'm in a slight stall that i hope to break. I have PCOS too and I try to stay away from carbs except the ones in my greek yogurt. Veggies still pose a challenge for me. The potatoes and grits are not the best idea for PCOS even without the sleeve. When i started with soft foods shrimp was my bestie and still is. Try eggs tuna chicken.... its also good that you are working out.

It has been one year and I have lost 111 pounds! Just wanted to share my before and in progress pic! Still have a few more pounds to lose, but I am almost there!

Hi everyone! I'm a little nervous about posting this but I must ask. I was sleeved on Aug. 10 and went in weighing 242 (im 5ft 3in). I also had a large hernia repair. No pre-op diet no high bp but prediabetic. When I weighed myself Saturday I was 221.5!!! I walked quite a bit and i get in fluids and Protein with no real problem. Is this normal or will I just hit a stall faster?

I confess:
Im only a few days out and im able to get in all 64 oz of Fluid and still feel hungry. And that makes me afraid.
I still havent told my bf
I feel like all my friends/eating buddies are going to abandon me.
Im afraid that i may not be able to make it to Onederland.
I cant wait to lose the "girls" weighing my shoulders down.
That as afraid and doubtfulas i am right now i still want my 300 something lb.sister to have the surgery so she can raise her kid.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:45am. Haven't eaten all day today of course. I have no idea how everyone did the pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks. My doc didn't order one I was soo tired and had a headache all day. I drank Water and had sugar free ice pops. I'm still up because I'm soo excited and nervous. I did manage to waste a little time at the mall and caught the Isopure Fruit Drinks on sale for $25 for a case. The Alpine Punch tastes pretty good to me. Just for kicks I bought a goal dress that I hope I can get into by my cruise in December.
Anymore August 10th sleevers still awake?

Hi everyone!!
Well everything is official. I went in for my pre-op appt. My surgeon said he'll be using a 38 bougie (?)and i should only expect to spend 1 night.
The nutritionist suggested that I shouldnt purchase too much Protein or anything else since my tastes will change. According to her, the hospital will give me some carnation instant Breakfast that will last a few days.
So far, I've purchased a bottle of the Isopure fruit punch. Its pretty good to me but its so darn expensive. She also gave me some samples of Unjury vanilla and chocolate and suggested that I drink swanson broth and cook it with veggies then strain. I also got the little medicine cups to drink out of.
Seems so real now and I think my nerves are getting the best of me now.

Just leaving the cardiologist. Had an ekg last week and it turns out.i have a right bundle blockage. Well according to the cardiologist my heart is healthy with no concerns. I am soo relieved!! So I'm still on for August 10th. It cant come fast enough!

Three weeks is a long time. I'd hate to be out that long. I've heard of the food funerals but I'm just ready to cremate my fat clothes. I'm 5ft3 and 240 (whew.....I said that outloud). Aside from being healthy (getting rid of this dang PCOS, and prediabetes), my goal weight is 130-140, I want to rid myself of the muffin top, and wear pretty bras.
My hair is natural and of course I'm worried about Hair loss. I've been natural for a couple of years now and I've just started taking Biotin and I'm thinking about throwing in some MSM. I mainly do protective styles for a week or two at a time.
I live in Raleigh but I work in Durham. Duke Raleigh isnt a Center of Excellence yet so I'm having my surgery at Durham Regional.
Any suggestions for low sodium broth and Protein drinks. What did you have for your 3 wk liquid diet?

Do you hav eproof the insurance is covering it? also hav eyou gone over your out of pocket? Surgeon, anest. hosp. and whoever will read your xrays, barium swallow, etc?
