No pre-op Surgery 8/10/12 @ 242lbs. Today 8/21/12 @ 218.5 :-)

I have my 2wk post op appt on friday. As of earlier this morning it seems that its getting lighter like its going away. *fingers crossed*

The exact opposite has happened to me. I was sleeved on August10th and I have been bleeding since. Not a regular period with cramps and all but just bleeding. The weird thing is that my cycle came on about a week before surgery. I have pcos and havent seen a regular period in years. Maybe its just resetting itself....idk....anyone else???

I know just how you feel. I was sleeved on 8/10 and I'm not having any problems getting in all of my liquids and I'M SOOO HUNGRY!! The dr. put me on omeprazole that I have been taking and I didn't think that I had a problem with reflux but I guess its a precaution. It's not "head hunger" its full on hunger. This is just my first week and I have another week to go before my post op appt. I hope this subsides when I start mushies otherwise I am worried about my progress.

Thanks everyone. I have muscle milk too. I just havent started on it yet. My bff brought me some coconut soup (like broth) for dinner that im going to try tomorow. NO MORE ENSURE!!!! The isopure tastes fine with me. I also have a new found love for popsicles.

Ensure was on my list. I got it on my meal tray in the hospital too. I dont think i will be trying it anymore

I was sleeved on 8/10 and so far so good until today. I was abled to drink more so i decided to aim for the 64 oz. Ive been drinking the Isopure Alpine punch for protein, plain room temp water, sf popcicles, diluted juice. Well today i decided to drink the ensure that i got from the hospital (6oz). Im not sure if that gave me diarrhea or just the increase in liquids. Either way i'm terrified of getting dehydrated. Any suggestions?

I was sleeved yesterday and was just discharged today. I finally got some ensure and juice around 1. I tolerated it well with no nausea so they let me go home

You're right. I may just extend it to 2 weeks

I do plan to tell him but not right now.

I recently got my surgery date and let only my closest friends and family know. My mom knows the struggle with being diabetic (she's NEVER weighed more than 162) but she sems really leary. My close friend said "its just not natual" (like being obese is). And my sister (always thin) said she didnt expect it to be so soon and she has to find a new eating partner. My bff (who has had lap band....FAIL) is the only really supportive person b/c she is planning for the rny. BTW..... my boyfriend thinks im having gallbladder surgery. He's super fit and i just couldnt tell him b/c he's super fit never been fat and believes the gym solves everything. Any advice??

I am scheduled for the upper gi chest xray and ekg on monday morning. I dont have any hernias heart problems or anything like that so i hope all goes well

I've been lurking around the boards for about 2 months now to gather information. I attended an informational in June and went for my surgical consult, psych, and nutrition information last week. I have an upper gi, ekg, and chest xray left. The good thing is I dont have any other issues going on Healthwise. My dr's office called today and gave me a surgery date of August 10th!!! I didnt even know i had insurance approval yet. Has anyone else had this happen?
