  1. Yes, I had this exactly at about 2 or 2.5 weeks. It lasted for about 4-5 days while stuff healed inside. I couldn't walk or move much without a stabbing knife pain, which clearly was due to incision stuff. I was even in tears sometimes. What helped me was Spanx and first aid tape. I taped up the painful areas so they couldn't jiggle or get stretched, then wore Spanx to hold it in. It was magic!!! After it had a chance to heal, I was pain-free and have been for 3 weeks now.
  2. To everyone who went back to work a few days later and stuff, what pants did you wear?? Everything hurts my incisions! I am one week post op and it was a challenge to find clothes just to take my daughter out for a haircut. Thank Goodness I kept some maternity pants.
  3. OMG that has been the worst for me. I gained 18 pounds after surgery!! I am now 7 days post-op and am just starting to lose it. Believe me, I hate to read all these people losing 25 lbs at their 1st week followup appt, but I have no choice but to keep on doing what I'm doing. I too have been worried that this won't work for me.
  4. How did it go? I had surgery on the 29th and go back on the 10th.
  5. Thank you for the reassurance. Like waiting for the surgery, now waiting for the weight loss... Waiting is difficult!
  6. Just curious -- I gained almost 20 lbs from surgery. It sucks. When do you finally lose the Water weight from all the IV fluids? I guess that's what this weight is. Tomorrow is day 5. I can now relate to people who are scared this won't work for them. i am seeing AGAIN the same pre-op weight I've looked at for 8 months. Sigh. It's haunting me.
  7. I am 4 days post op and have had cream of mushroom Soup. It was dreamy! We only had Clear liquids in the hospital.
  8. It feel like I've done 2000 crunches with 7 little tight spots that pull when I move.
  9. I'm now 3 days post op and everything went smooth. I have 7 little incisions and no drain. I've been walking since just a few hours after surgery... But damn! My stomach HURTS! I can't lay in my bed. I can barely stand upright when I walk. I can hardly get up from a chair. I can't bend over to pick up toys. And my stomach is still bloated. Ooooouuch. How long does this pain last?
  10. That's fantastic! Good for you!! I am home drinking a Protein shake it's good. I have terrible muscle pain, though, in my stomach. I hope it goes away soon,
  11. I was sleeved on 8.29 and am just coming home from hospital today. I gained 20 lbs!!! I was on IVs the whole time, but still. I have been walking but my stomach feels so sore, I can't even stand up straight. No complications or anything but dang it, my stomach hurts!!
  12. As it turns out, I told the surgeon during my preop appt, and he gave me an antibiotic, no worries. I was mainly concerned they'd postpone the surgery and I definitely did not want that!!
  13. That's exactly what I did! A mani/pedi!
  14. Yes! Still in hospital, tobe discharged today! Stomach muscles ACHE and gas in certainly there, going for walks. So glad this part is over!! I can't wait to eat normal food again. Thanks everyone for all the kind words!!
  15. Hi everyone, as it turns out, they DID want it off but they did't have pure acetone. I took the polish off my toes as a gesture of good will, but they were able to use the finger sensor without problems. Thank goodness because my nails break and peel, shellac is the best stuff!
  16. I was sleeved on the 29th as well! Still in the hospital due to pain, otherwise it's getting better. I should have done better in weaning myself off caffeine, i would looooove some coffee now. Getting out of the bed and back is the worst!
  17. Me too!! It feels like I've done 2000 crunches when I move and gas pressure when I don't. Every time I get up it's easier but damn. My whole stomachical area HURTS! Well, I'm day 1.
  18. My insurance covers it and my husband is supportive, but I STILL feel guilty because I've been unable to lose the weight myself. It's not rocket science, what's my problem? Well anyway, my surgery is tomorrow and I have such mixed emotions. Excited to lose weight FINALLY but not at all excited to go through this. I finally told some close friends/family on Sunday. Til then, nobody knew except my husband. I figure if I have trouble accepting it, I don't need anyone else's two cents. Good luck!
  19. No, I found that too. Some stuff I would eat just because it's there -- like at parties and stuff -- is really unappealing to me now. I feel like I am soooo tired of eating and feeling bad about it, it's just easier not to. The trouble is when something tastes GOOD, I can't stop. And mentally, since I didn't eat all the other stuff, I justify eating more+... so I wasn't losing weight.
