  1. Hi everyone, as it turns out, they DID want it off but they did't have pure acetone. I took the polish off my toes as a gesture of good will, but they were able to use the finger sensor without problems. Thank goodness because my nails break and peel, shellac is the best stuff!
  2. I was sleeved on the 29th as well! Still in the hospital due to pain, otherwise it's getting better. I should have done better in weaning myself off caffeine, i would looooove some coffee now. Getting out of the bed and back is the worst!
  3. Me too!! It feels like I've done 2000 crunches when I move and gas pressure when I don't. Every time I get up it's easier but damn. My whole stomachical area HURTS! Well, I'm day 1.
  4. My insurance covers it and my husband is supportive, but I STILL feel guilty because I've been unable to lose the weight myself. It's not rocket science, what's my problem? Well anyway, my surgery is tomorrow and I have such mixed emotions. Excited to lose weight FINALLY but not at all excited to go through this. I finally told some close friends/family on Sunday. Til then, nobody knew except my husband. I figure if I have trouble accepting it, I don't need anyone else's two cents. Good luck!
  5. No, I found that too. Some stuff I would eat just because it's there -- like at parties and stuff -- is really unappealing to me now. I feel like I am soooo tired of eating and feeling bad about it, it's just easier not to. The trouble is when something tastes GOOD, I can't stop. And mentally, since I didn't eat all the other stuff, I justify eating more+... so I wasn't losing weight.
  6. Uuuuuugh I feel for you. This sucks because if you sit in a chair off to the side, you're excluded. If you sit in the seats, you're in pain. Can you sit in an aisle seat? Maybe towards the back? At least you can maybe kick your legs out occasionally.
  7. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow (yay!) and just had pre-op yesterday. Nobody mentioned my nailpolish -- all 8 people who saw me. But I'm reading in the paperwork, don't wear nailpolish. I have shellac on my nails and it's a pain to remove. Did anyone get by without removing nailpolish??
  8. I'm scheduled for surgery on Wed and it's Sunday night now. I feel like I might be getting a UTI. Will this postpone my surgery? Maybe if I ignore it, it'll go away.
  9. Thanks you're a sweetie!
  10. It's very eye-opening, this experience. My husband went to the store now, so here I am alone filling the pinata with candy. Normally I'd start eating the pieces I kept aside as soon as he was gone. In fact, as soon as he left I went to the fridge to see what I could eat without police watching me. Then I remembered... I AM being held accountable for this. So I "snuck" a string cheese and some SF Jello.
  11. Thanks you guys, you are right. I came this far, I'm not going to mess it up now. Nobody in my family knows except my husband and cousin. I didn't even tell my best friend.
  12. My surgery is Aug 29th and I've been doing well on the pre-op liquid low carb diet. It hasn't been all liquid but I'm down 11lbs so far so I'll take it. But tomorrow is my daughter's 3rd birthday and we're having a family party. I purposely ordered food so I didn't have to cook, and I got food I'm not wild about so I'm less tempted. I'm dying to break into the potato chips, though. I admit it. GAAAAH wish me luck
  13. Sorry for all the complications you're having. Do they know why you can't keep anything down? Here's hoping the storm blows over soon!!
  14. Thanks, you as well! Sweet dreams tonight. I almost wish I did the sleep study. A night free of crying babies.
  15. My surgery is Aug 29th and I'm one week into my pre-op liquid diet. Looking forward to the future when I can bust out my smaller clothes in storage and I can take a bite of what I want and be full.
  16. When you turn sideways I can barely see you!!
  17. Your traveling sounds fantastic and I'm so glad to read this!! I'll be in China and Korea towards the end of the year and was wondering in my mind how it might be.
  18. I'm one week into my two week pre-op liquid diet and we are supposed to be doing protein drinks, broth, and water. That's it. I'm following more along the lines of your pre-op diet, staying between 800-900 calories. I've lost 8 lbs so it's working out.
