    Catheter?

I did. They put it in after I was under and it came out the next morning.

    How Is Everyone So Happy?

I am so sorry that you aren't feeling well. I also have to force myself to eat most days. I'm sick of protein shakes and pureed food. I have to agree with a PP. If your vitamins are making you sick, try something else. I had the same problem a few days after surgery. I was using a chewable and it came right back up every single time. I realized that taking them on an empty stomach was the problem(iron in it can do that) I asked my PA and she told me to try taking it after I ate with a sip of water, since we're technically not supposed to drink right after a meal. She said that what I would need to get the pill down wasn't enough to worry about. I found a 'petite' multi I can swallow whole right after I eat. I do eat a touch less to keep some room for it right now. No big deal. I'm only 3 weeks out. Works like a charm!!! Haven't even felt nauseous since. As far as the heartburn...Are you on an acid reducer? I'm on Pepcid for at least 3 months possibly up to 6 months. I was on Prilosec but it too was making me sick. If you're not, you may want to check in with your doc. Also maybe check in with your Nut. He/She maybe able to help you find different ways to get in your protein that doesn't suck for you. One last suggestion...if you are not seeing a counselor, maybe you might want to. Check in with your doc's office or the doc you had your pre-op psych consult with. These are huge life changes we've made and sometimes we can't do it on our own. I know I've needed some extra support at times and it helps to know that it's only a phone call away. You are not alone. It's hard and it definitely sucks big time some days. I can't tell you if it will get better, I don't know yet. You are actually further along then I am. I know it's hard but try to look on the up side as often as you can. You've lost weight and that was probably hard to do pre surgery. Great job. You're getting your fluids in, I know quite a few people who still can't. I understand not feeling healthy...I mean I'm eating cottage cheese and pureed baby food and pudding. I want real food. I know it's coming but it's tough. I hope you start to feel better soon. Keep looking to the future and your ultimate outcome. Keep the faith and know that it will get better, I mean, it certainly can't get any worse can it?

    Pre-Op During Vacation

Ugh...and I thought just having to get through Father's Day weekend was tough. Out for dinner Sat and BBQ Sunday. I can't imagine doing a week. Although I will be on pureed food for the 1st half of my vacation and soft solids for the 2nd half in mid-July. I think it'll be easier this time though, since I'm post-op. Good luck!! It depends on your Dr's pre-op requirements. Are you on only Clear liquids? full liquids? Protein & veggies?

    How Long Befire Gas Pains

I am only 2 days out and the gas is probably the most painful thing right now. I just get up and walk around or stretch out as best I can when they hit. I was told that gas-x wouldn't help the surgical gas though, it just has to be absorbed and then passed. I hope it all goes away soon. Then I'll be ok.
  6. Hi all! Checking in finally. I can't believe it's done. Overall, I'm doing good. Still rather sore and I just had my first bout of vomiting. Stupid chewable multivitamins! I'm sipping fine and keeping everything down except the vitamin. I'm still working on my first 16oz but it's coming along. I was so glad to come home from the hospital. I was so tired and I wasn't allowed to sleep much. Damn vital signs checking every 3 hours, plus meds. Although sleeping at home wasn't much better but at least I didn't have someone checking my BP/temp/foley or poking me with a Heparin shot. Well, time to walk. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I was alive and see how all my other June friends are doing.
  7. Dad, I'm trying my darndest to get to my happy place. It's being elusive. I got pushed back from a 6am check in w/ surgery @730am to 10am check in w/ surgery @ noon. Not cool especially at 3:55pm the day before! I'll be thinking about all my fellow June 19th sleevers tomorrow morning before I go in. To those going June 20 & 21, I may not be back in time so good luck to you all as well. I will let everyone know how things are as soon as I can. Good luck and God bless! Here we go! Let's rock this thing! -Lauren

    June Sleevers!

Nicely done, littlebits. I can't believe we're in the home stretch. 30 hours for me. I'm so nervous about the surgery. I can't eat and sleep has been little. Good luck to you.
  9. Eric, Yay! I found someone who shares my day! Good luck to you as well. We're gonna do great!. I'm having some issues right now with 2nd guessing myself and coupled with the pre-op diet, I have been a B!tc#. I'm excited one minute, terrified and depressed the next. Glad to hear your allergies are letting up. I think I'm just going to keep taking the Claritin anyway just to be safe. Last thing I need is to be stuffy, sneezing and coughing while trying to have surgery. I don't know if I could handle having it postponed at this point. Off to bed now. I'm hungry and out of food for the day. Figure I'll just go to bed and forget about it. -Lauren
  10. OMG! I laughed so hard, I nearly peed my pants. I so know exactly what you're talking about. I am currently a 44 DD/DDD and I am having my surgery 6/19. I actually want mine to go away so they will probably stick around. I'm not worried about the nips looking at the floor because they already do and have for years. (I got too big too fast as an adolescent) I'm thinking some lifting, nipping & tucking may be in my future but we'll see what happens first. Keep up the great work on your blogs. I really enjoy reading what you have to say.
  11. OMG! Started preop diet today, so far I'm ok. It's only been a few hours. We shall see in a day or so. I'm really starting to get nervous now. I've been alright so far, but I knew that when I started the diet I would also start freaking out. I am. I am 5 days out now. June 19th has ever looked so close but seemed so far before. I've seen quite a few differences in preop diets/lengths. I'm so glad I only have 5 days. Mine consists of: 3-4 meal replacement shakes/day 5-6 servings of cream of wheat/rice, non-chunky low fat low sugar yogurt, low fat puree Soup, unsweetened applesauce, sugar-free pudding 48-64 oz. H2O or other sugar free caffeine free beverages I can also have veggie juice, broth, sugar free Jello and popsicles or Water ice I started this morning with a Protein shake. I now know why a lidded cup was suggested: Protein shakes smell awful! Tasted ok but the smell was wicked. So far that's all I've had except some water to take my meds. I'm so nervous right now that I'm not even hungry. Weird. Dadto2, I have seasonal allergies myself and yesterday I was sneezing and post nasal and all that jazz so I called my doc and she said I can take my Claritin right up til the night before surgery to keep things cleared out. I take it as needed so it wasn't on my list when I did my appointment. Usually by this time I've had my allergy fun and I'm good til Sept but my neighbors have been doing yardwork like crazy and it rained yesterday. A perfect storm for me. If you usually take something and haven't already, check in with your doc. They may let you take it. If you don't they may be able to give you something. Just my 2 cents. I believe you and I are going the same day for our surgeries. (June 19). T-minus 5 days and counting! Oh, I know it's a few days early but just so I don't forget, cause I will: Happy Father's Day!
  12. I plan on going as often as I can. There is actually a meeting June 19 according to the schedule. I thought maybe on one of my post-op walks I'd swing by and check it out. LOL Yeah, right. Somehow I don't think so. When did/do you have your pre-op class?

    June Sleevers!

I am also June 19. However I am up here in PA. I have a daughter who's almost 4, and rather smart for her age, and I've told her that I'm having surgery to help me make my belly smaller and give me more energy so I can play with her more and do more things with her. She gets upset that I'm going to be away for a few days but when I remind her she is going to be with her grandparents, she is fine. I answer her questions as they come up. She did want to know if I'd be smaller as soon as I came home. I had to explain that it would take time.
  15. I gained about 5lbs total. I was up and down each month but by the end I was up 5lbs from where I started. I'm approved and scheduled for surgery on the 19th. I think they looked at the whole run with the ups & downs. I think it showed that I really did need more help than just diet and exercise.
