Dorrie, your response was nice and helpful. Iggychic, if you are going to get so annoyed over a question like this, don't respond. Someone who is asking for help doesn't need your condescending tone.

My question is: if you don't want questions about how you lost weight, why are you posting about losing weight on Facebook?
It is your choice on how to respond, but at that point you basically just invited everyone and anyone to not only congratulate, but also to ask how.

These boards have been a lifesaver for a pre-op's like me to ask questions and seek advice on how others have experienced this surgery and I love it! I want your advice. However, I have been told and I have read where others have been told (frequently) by members on this forum that they should "really get professional help for their issues with food". Can I just say "Duh" to all of those that feel the need to say this. Of course we do and ya know what? So do you! We all do or we wouldn't be in this situaiton. After many failed attempts at dieting I went to a LPC and it didn't help one bit. I just gained more weight and felt like a bigger failure. None of us should be so quick to make a referral for professional treatment. It is the pot calling the kettle black and is not helpful. If you want to be of help, share what your LPC told you about your issues with food and maybe that will help us too!
    Thank you!

It is vital that you get out of bed & move as much as possible. You are setting yourself up for worse complications like pneumonia, clots & venous stasis ulcers. Walk around your house every hour & deep breathe, go to the bathroom furthest from you, fill up your water bottle in different places. You MUST move!

Please point to the post where someone is laughing at the OP. He got some good advice, got his question answered...then the whole thread sorta spiraled out of control, but so what. There is nothing wrong with laughing....especially at ourselves.

Lol, I'm guilty of licking cheese puffs when I was a week out, but, got over the craving and now I'm almost 6 weeks out , what I do snack on are Gerber Graduates cheese puffs! They are so low in calories and totally disenigrate in your mouth! My dr said they are perfect to snack on when craving carbs, just don't over do it! Hope this helps!

My second week out of surgery I was suffering so bad from head hunger and carb withdrawal. I licked the seasoning off 5 sun dried Tomato basil wheat thins but didn't eat the crackers. My God that was so good at the time, and it satisfied my cravings.
Best part was my dog got to eat the licked crackers. She was thrilled to get such a treat. She did a little labrador happy dance. I probably did that 2 or 3 different days until I started on soft foods. By then my cravings were gone.

First let me start off by saying that I do not condone drug use of any kind. I hear you saying that he's changed and left the drug usage alone however he still smokes weed? Isn't weed considered a drug? In all actuality that would mean he's still on drugs, right? I can only assume that this must mean he was doing some harder drugs at one time. How will you feel about him doing this around your baby once you guys do manage to conceive again, because If he's ready for a family, he has to ask himself if the marijuana usage is more important to him than you. Second, let me say that I try to never tell a married person to leave their spouse. Many people will have various opinions, but the vows you made were for "better or for worse" and I do believe that people can change if they want to. You said that he changed and left the other drugs alone, so I have to believe that he could also leave the marijuana alone. Living with others can place a strain on a marriage. Especially if your family feels compelled to comment on things going on between you guys. But just being totally honest with you, he sounds very immature and a bit controlling if he doesn't want you to spend time with your family, hell you're living with them! How could you possibly not spend time with them? And he's arguing with you cause he can't smoke weed. He shouldn't want to smoke weed in your parent's house out of respect for them and their property! I'm sure he knows that they would not approve. I'm sure he does feel trapped. Hopefully you guys can get your own place sometime soon. Sit your husband down when the two of you can talk rationally and explain to him how you feel. Listen to his concerns and let him know that you are dedicated to this marriage 100%. Explain to him that you understand that he may feel trapped, but you appreciate him making this effort to make the best out of your living situation. Most men need to feel needed. Maybe he feels as if you don't need him since you're with your family now. Mostly explain to him that you don't want to keep argueing. Sometimes in the heat of an arguement, it's best to say "Baby, I love you, but I don't want to keep argueing with you right now." and walk away and give both of you time to calm down. Once you've stepped back, you can sometimes look at things better and think rationally. I pray things get better, because right now you should be focused on recovery. Good luck and God bless.

It gets better every day! I am six days post op. Right after I had the surgery I was miserable and totally out of it. I was not expecting to feel that type of pain - but the next day I was up and walking. You have to walk!! It makes things sooooo much better. Set an alarm for every two hours (every hour if you can handle it) and walk. I'm assuming your hooked up to IVs so don't stress out about drinking. You have plenty of fluids going in to you. I stayed two nights at the hospital and maybe had 6 sips of Water and apple juice lol It's normal!!
Just know that when you wake up tomorrow you will feel a little better. I didn't have a drain, so I can't speak to that. Just keep looking forward and thinking about the big picture. You can do it!

OMG.... I can hardly keep my eyes open. Haven't had any meds in about 6 hours. Not as bad as I expected. I woke up! That was my biggest fear... dying. The worst part is the dry mouth! I've never experienced it this bad. Makes me sip good though. I need to go potty but I'm scared to move that much. My nurses have been great! So glad it's over. Guess I'm gonna attempt to go pee... ugh
