  1. Aww, you two look like you had a great time, I'm so jealous! I have two grown sons and two grandsons, 12 and 2, and #3 due any day. Betty, I'll pm you my address so you can send those pretty little candies my way, LOL. About that wrapping, wellllll, I haven't quite started yet, I keep looking at everything that's inside so far, then all the stuff still in my car, then I get so tired just thinking about it and then put it off until.."tomorrow". I do this every year, I'll getter done eventually, LOL.
  2. Welcome to bandland, my mom had pain in her back too, I only had shoulder pain. I wish you the best.
  3. Everyone's so informative, thanks guys.
  4. Definitely sounds like Christmas is going to be early at your house and it seems you're a littttttle excited. I'm so happy for you!
  5. Most patient...Vines Queen And, I'll second that most informed...ReneBean
  6. Come on VQ, pick yourself up, take a deep breath and hang in there. I know it's hard and I'm certainly not gonna tell you I wouldn't be upset, pissed, and disgusted, cause I would be, as you have a right to be too, but don't give up or beat yourself up. Personally, I think that 700 calories a day was way too few for you. Make an appt with your nutritionist and for a week, make note of everything you put in your mouth, how much and even when. See where your weakness is. We're here for you and it's gonna get better.
  7. I can't do chicken, unless it's been cooked to itsy bitsy pieces in a Soup. Nuggets, grilled, fried, baked, nope, gonna slime every time. You've done so well in such a short time, it's not like you're on a time schedule, if it will make you feel better not only physically, but emotionally as well, get an adjustment. For me, I'd probably give it another day with either liquids or very mushy foods and see if I still felt too tight. Good luck.
  8. Greg, I've been stuck a couple of months, I need to getter done too, I'll try harder after the holidays , then I'll get a fill.

The band is not a magic bullet to make us lose weight without an honest effort. In all of my research, I never expected it to be "easy". There are trials and tribulations as with any weight loss journey. I always order Water w/lemon in a to go cup or at the end of the meal, I will ask for a to go cup, ummmm, that was is so good, good and cold, a splash of lemon and a dash of swt n low, just like crystal lite. Whether the pb, burping, and farting are worth it to you is for you to decide, but when I look in the mirror and I like what I see, for the first time in many years...yeah, it is oh so worth it.
  10. When I was in a slump, I found I had gained muscle, heck what am I talking about, that was back in the spring, what's the issue with the current slump of two months, ERRRR.
  11. Seems I remember a few other pictures of him wearing black, hmmmm, is he a Johnny Cash fan?
  12. I wish you the best, please let us know as soon as you can....hugs!
  13. You must have posted this thread for me, last night I couldn't get soup to stay down, tonight I had a large salad plate of spaghetti.
  14. Yeah, I'd find the next closest doctor, don't give up.
  15. Oh, I forgot to mention, don't take a deep breath either, ouch, that causes me more pain.
  16. We should all count our blessing every day. How easy it is to fall into the poor pity meeeee syndrome. I especially liked Vanessa's point #2. Stick with your Rock Kim, sounds like he's there for the long hall, afterall, he is your "friend".
  17. I noticed he likes the black shirt and grey tie too, then again he looks mighty HOT!!!, no matter what he wears. You're both a wonderful looking couple. Thanks for sharing. The weight you've lost without a port, omg, look out when ya get one.
  18. Desertmom, what a good visual, I never thought about it that way, but it stands to reason. By the way, I take Synthroid for underactive thryoid too.
  19. I agree do not drink anything, I think it makes it much worse. I have to admit I have taken a tiny, tiny sip, which seemed to help. If it's stuck in the throat and not the golf ball in the chest feeling, I bend over and up it will come, without that heaving effect.
  20. Hello everyone, oh how I hate to shop! Been at it for days now, almost done, now the wrapping part, just as bad. I know, I sound like a scrouge. Betty, I guess the people who stole the AC units took your job too. I'm so jealous Eileen and Beanie got to meet. Patty, a vacation, omg, I'd love to go on a vacation right now, just me and my gson, LOL, no adult men allowed. Cindy, Red Hat party this week, come join us. Have a great day everyone!
  21. Best of luck on your band journey (you and your mom).

I eat out at least every other day, I know by now what goes down and stays down. A safe order for me is soup, (without potatoes) and salad, and most important, small, well chewed bites. Every now and then I will go too long without eating and it will happen, but for the most part soup and salad will work. Do a test run on a few foods from your favorite place, preferably with someone who knows you've been banded. Keep in mind the pb possibility is always there, so be particular about what your chose.
  23. I was so afraid of trying salad, but I'm so glad I did, I've never pb'd on salad, it's my friendliest band food. I had the same fear, that it would be the most likely to get stuck, in my case, not. Take small bites and chew, chew, chew. Remember, lettuce is mostly water.
  24. You go girl, you've had so many trials and tribulations with your fills. I'm so happy for you. (not to mention the rough year with your hubbies illness)
  25. Awesome pictures, where's Kelly, she needs to do you a new avatar. You've got such a beautiful smile, your current avatar doesn't do you justice. VQ rocks, well in this case jiggles.
