    Post op FIRST time pregnancies

Add me to the list of pregnant post sleeve ladies! Iam 18 months post sleeve and I am 13 wks pregnant with my first baby. Before the surgery I had extremely heavy and irregular cycles. About 9 months after the surgery my cycles started coming on time. In January I used the Ovia app and ovulation sticks to track my cycle and ovulation and times sex around those times. I got a positive pregnancy test in March. I know for a fact that VSG is the only reason I conceived.

    Recovery room question

I woke up in the recovery room and was asked if I was in pain. There were about 4 other patients in there with me, one woman they were having a hard time bringing around. I was then moved to my hospital room and pumped full of saline, pain meds and anti nauseau meds , anti blood clot and antibiotics. I had my surgery around 12pm I was in my room around 2:30pm and went home the next day at 5pm after I had walked a few times and kept down some broth. I was definitely more comfortable at home in my own bed.

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I was sleeved in July 2013 and I am down 109 lbs so far... My goal is to weight 195 to 220lbs in 18 months post op
  4. I have basic and I only paid 150.00 for the actual surgery and hospital stay. When I got the statment from BCBS they had been billed a total of 59,000$ from the hospital. The charges included surgery ,all drugs administered during surgery,my 1 night stay and all drugs administered after surgery. Insurance paid 29,000 and my cost was the 150.00 co pay for surgery. My surgeon's office was a center of excellence with BCBS , so I dont know if that made a difference in how it was billed or not.

Federal BCBS (standard) Good or Bad experiences?

I have Basic and it was a smooth process to get approved. Three month diet I did with primary doctor, nutrition classess, cardio, psych eval and barium test and I only paid my 35 dollar copay each time I went to a specialist....then 150.00 for the surgery...it took 3 days to get approved. I was sleeved on July 19 and just got the insurance statement. The surgery and hospital stay was billed at $59,545 but since it was with a preferred provider the insurance company actually paid $19,921.00. So in total I paid 325.00 total out of pocket.
