Why Do We Lose Our Hair?

I don't have enough to lose, so I hope I do not lose much. I would think if you eat plenty of protein, that should help a lot. Yes, the surgery is part of it, but protein also plays a big part in hair loss.

    Tight Clothes Question

take care of your stomach by not wearing tight clothes for at least a month. There is no sense in taking any chances and hurting your nice new sleeve. You have all the time in the world to wear tighter clothes once you heal. Remember, your body has experienced a lot of trauma, take care of it!

    Financing Fell Throught

Glad to hear that everything went through for you. I am private pay so I know the stress of getting the money. We were able to pay for it, but I don't know what I would have done if I did not have the money. It is worth every cent though, believe me! Good luck and keep me posted on your surgery!
  6. I am 3 days post op and I feel good. Perhaps a little weak, but I feel good.

I Was Sleeved Yesterday, May 7Th And I Did Great

Did Anyone Not Lose Wt The First Few Days After Surger?

thank you guys so much for responding. When you are going by the book to the tee and gain wt, especially on the clear diet, you start to get a bit worried that something is wrong. They should tell preop patients to expect a gain the first week, then they will lose. If they don't gain, good for them, but if they do then they would be prepared!
  11. My insurance did not cover my surgery, so I was outpatient.

    Pissed Off And Frustrated

    Stalled

I have not lost a lb since the surgery and I am eating or rather drinking, by the book!
  14. I had Dr. Miles and he was Awesome! Tell him Vicki Gier highly recommended him! I did not have any nausea and very little pain. The St. Vincent's people are wonderful, caring people, so you will be in good hands. I cannot say enough about Dr. Miles. If you have not met him yet, know that he is very experienced, and has a way of putting you at ease quickly. Let me know if you have any other questions. Are you inpatient our out patient? We stayed at the Hampton Inn. I recommend room 112. It is close to the front door.

I Was Sleeved Yesterday, May 7Th And I Did Great

I think the trick is following all the rules, never cheating, and really have your psyche set before the surgery. The oddest thing did happen to me though because I was so anxious before surgery. I was great in the room, but the second they started wheeling me to the surgery room I started crying and didn't stop until they put me to sleep. I remember thinking "How could I have let food take over my life to the point of having to have surgery?" It was then I decided that food was no longer my master, the Lord God was and I would, from this day forward treat my body as He wanted me to. To all of those who have not yet been sleeved, please feel free to email me and I will answer your questions. I was an outpatient and it was fine (another concern of mine was why do insurance people get extra medical care and private pay people sent home).

Two Day Count Down To Surgery

Dear Sleevers! I need encouraging words!

    Any May Sleevers Here?

I understand your fear. My surgery is in the morning and once I go under, that is it, 80% of my stomach is history. I will not be able to eat when and how I want, I have to learn to eat the right amount or I will get sick. BUT I am going to be healthy, and I am going to look great! And Live longer. When you get concerned, think of those things...is eating the way we used to eat worth losing 10 or more years of our lives?
