Kate27 got a reaction from JenniferVSG2011 in Vertical Sleeve Revision To Rny
    Hi,
I am just looking into revision do to metabolic reasons and I am not sure I should. I had the sleeve 11/30/I2. I lost 60 lbs.
    SW 289
    CW 229
I have been stuck this weight for almost a year I go back and forth from 232 down to 228. It is soooooooo frustrating. I have been reading up and it seems I may have a issue????
I eat 1200-1300 calories daily sometimes less and it is mostly low carb less than 50 carbs a day. Infact recently I have been doing 20 carbs a day,
I don't work out like I should be I do work out at least 2 times a w aim for 3-4 though. This last week I didn't at all becasue I was sick but I am back in the game now.
Anyway, I am at my wits end the hospital where I had my surgery thinks I just need to keep trying the 1200 calorie plan. Obviously my body like where it is at!
    UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So just curious if anyone has tried it for weight loss issues.

It's good your tracking again. That always helps me. The pouch test helped me reboot and get back to basics. And then focus on Protein and Water. Don't be ashamed. You know what to do you just need to do it. Getting back to the gym and tracking is awesome. One day at a time!!

First off it isnt fair to yourself to compare to a man they have higher metabolisms than us.
Also I was sleeved on the 30th of November and I wouldnt call 25lbs in 1 1/2 months a bad thing!!!!!!
Normal diet plans they say 1-2 lbs a week is healthy. You are still loosing so I wouldn't freak out just yet.
I was bummed at my first stall but I realized aunt flo and having a cold had something to do with it. I wasn't active at all. It seems now that I can eat more I am loosing better. I think because I get more real proitein in and I am drinking Water as often as I can. Plus walking and working out on the xbox has helped as well. Keep you head up. Just think if you hadn;t had the surgery would you be 24 lbs down now? Seeing the scale move has motivated me more to keep up the exersise because that is the key!
    Good luck!

Loved your story and it wasn't boring to me! Also love that you named your sleeve. I just call mine sleeve. Very creative right?
Anyway I have been down in the dumps about my weight not moving as fast as I thought it should. But when I measured myself today and found that I have lost 20" total that was just awesome! I just got to get back into motivation and start walking again.
Reading your story also made me think we all lose differntly and as long as I am loosing there is nothing to be ashamed of so thanks.
    Good luck to us all!

Congratulations! You look great. I LOVE reading stories like yours, it keeps me going. Sometimes the scale does not move, but the clothes sizes change?!?!?!? So I go with the clothes.
I love that you named your sleeve. I am naming mine Miss Vivian - after the character Julia Roberts played in "Pretty Woman" !!!

I am just over one month out from VSG surgery and I really couldn't be happier! Jelly (my sleeve) and I get along famously. I treat her well and she helps me out. I have no issues with any foods at all so far. Everything goes down and stays down and I don't get sick from anything. I only had one incident of vomiting because I was mindlessly eating. Jelly let me know she didn't appreciate that and I've had to concentrate on measuring my portions and recognizing when I am DONE, not when I am FULL. I never want to leave the decision up to my sleeve as to when I am done eating. When I am done, I am DONE and I push the plate away.
Like most people here I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I don't remember ever being thin. My weight has been a huge source of sadness and depression for me-- I just didn't feel like I was worth being loved and my life was a waste. If I hadn't have had the surgery, I don't even know what my state of mind would be right now. I felt like it was hopeless--- lose 30lbs, see a pic of myself-- I'm still fat, WTF! Then lose NOTHING else despite working hard, get frustrated, give up, regain those 30 lbs AND THEN SOME.
Pre surgery I went from 273 to 250. Since surgery I've dropped almost 20lbs and countless inches. I am down from a tight 22 to an 18 on the bottom and 14/16 on top. I haven't seen the numbers I see on the scale in YEARS. I haven't felt this good or this small or this attractive in years. Taking the step and pushing myself through the process was the best best BEST thing I could have ever done for myself.
If you're on the verge, stick with the process. It's SO worth it. Life is better on the other side.
I'm posting a couple of pics. The orange shirt was at my heaviest, the 270's. The green shirt was last Friday, my 4 week update! What a difference.

Hope you find lots of good info here. I visited Anchorage a decade ago in the summer and loved the charm of the town, went to see the glacier at Portage, went to a wedding. Gosh the food was amazing too, smoked salmon and the best lobster. I still love those foods and can still have them with my sleeve, but without all the sides and starters!! Welcome!!

Today is my monthly weigh and measure day. It just happens to be my birthday too. Well 2 months out 29 lbs and 20" lost total. The weight loss isn't as much as I thought it would be but it is still freaking awesome! I hope to hit my goal of loosing 50. More by July because I'm a bridesmaid. Also June is my 10 year anniversary. What a great gift for the hubby! Lol! Anyway, exersise has been my downfall just gotta keep motivated.

You can still lose weight but you will lose more muscle this way, which will ultimately lower your metabolic rate.

Kate27 got a reaction from TD41 in It's hilarious to eat, now
I agree this sleeve is soooo noisy. My son asked me what was wrong with my belly. I told him him it's the new stomach getting used to things.
Regarding the amount of food I totally agree! We went to my moms for dinner and she had stuffed peppers some cooked zuccini and some fruit. Plus cheesecake for desert! Normally I would of eaten all of that plus another 1/2 pepper, Yesterday I could only get down half a pepper and a few bites of zuccini.
It's just so weird the difference now! I like it but weird! Sometimes now I feel like wow I ate all of that but then I think about what I used to eat and realize okay that's not bad at all.

It's crazy. For me the best part has been seeing all the money I used to spend on food just sitting in my account!!! I didn't realize how much I spent on food between the grocery, and all the little fast food trips here and there. I'm sitting on an extra $200 this check alone and I decided that any extra goes into my CLOTHES FUND!!!
On a side note I had my 2 week checkup today and they said I'm a model patient, and that I was 7lbs ahead of the curve! I lost 21 over the past 2 weeks!
