Hi, Im New =)
I am SO glad I did this. There is one person in my support group meetings that had the band, the rest of us had the sleeve. He said that he is so sorry he chose the band; he should have gone with the sleeve. I'm only 4+ weeks post surgery & every day is better & better. My back doesn't hurt & my sleep apnea is gone!

Please Help Me....choosing A Mexico Doctor For Revision
Is there that much of a price difference if you go out of the country?

Who To Tell And Not Tell....
I told family & close friends. If someone asks, then I tell; but not unless they ask specifically.

How ...? Just How?
I use my fitness pal also. It's a big help. I take a carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) to work with me & sip on it all morning. That helps get in the protein & I like it.

Journey Begins Today, I Am Off To The Airport!
I was lucky that my insurance paid for my surgery. But, is there that big a difference between what a doctor in the US charges as compared to Mexico? I see a LOT of people on this forum flying to Mexico.

Tell Me Your Favorite Pureed Meals
Puree was a struggle for me. I lived on cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, mashed potatoes and carnation (sugar free) instant breakfast drink. I only had to endure this for 2 weeks thank goodness.

Craving Food
I told my family that for 3 weeks they would be on their own for food. They have been really good about eating out & not eating in front of me. This past weekend I started to cook & we are eating together again. When I'm watching TV, I switch channels if a food commercial comes on; I find myself wanting to eat after I watch one!

Grrrr
Sorry, I didn't experience anything like that. I'm not usually ever hungry either.

Coffee Sadness
I am 4 weeks post surgery and can't drink coffee yet. I loved coffee prior to surgery, but post; not so much. It lays very heavy in my stomach and feels weird; kind of oily and bitter. I'm going to wait a few more weeks then try again.

Ate To Much?
I'm at 4 weeks & my doctor just this weekend started letting me have soft food. I was still on puree until Saturday.

Sleeved Yesterday!
I was dreading the swallow test, but it was not bad at all. Only one ounce of the gross stuff to drink!

Talking Myself Out Of It!
Keep your appointment! My doctor gave me a prescription for liquid Lortab for home use post surgery. I never opened the bottle. The only discomfort I had was gas. And, when my husband rubbed my back from the bottom up, it relieved the gas. The 1st night I stayed in the hospital & that was rough. No one to rub my back & the gas pain was bad. when my husband got there in the morning & started the back rubs again, it was wonderful. No worries! I have a great doctor & like the hospital.

Flight Home After Surgery
I did not have to worry about a flight post surgery (the hospital is only 20 minutes from my home) but I did experience gas for a few weeks. The best remedy was to have my husband rub my back from the bottom up. The gas moves easily & gives wonderful relief.

Restriction & Amount Of Food Tolerated
I am so glad to read these posts. It's all the same issues I have been dealing with. I just went to soft food yesterday. So far, so good. But I'm worried about what to eat. It feels like my whole life revolves around food. I can't wait until I am more relaxed about it.

6 Weeks Post-Op
I'm 4 weeks post surgery & having the same issue with how to put meals together. My Husband & I went to breakfast this morning. My first meal out! I had oatmeal & It was really good, but now I have enough left overs for all week! I worried about what to eat. I need to go thru the sample diets they gave me.

7 Wks Post Op And Have Been On A Stall For A Couple Wks
That explains it. I'm only up to 4 servings of water a day. I can't fit them all in! And i'm only eating about 400 calories a day. I'll try to increase both.

3 Years Or More Post Op...memory Changes?
How did you get the weight ticker on the bottom? I have looked through my account settings & can't find it.

Ordering Protein Stuffs For Post Op
I started using Spirotein powder (soy based) a few weeks prior to surgery. Went through 2 larges cans, loved it. After surgery, can't stand it. I don't like the taste at all. I was putting it in pudding, soups, smoothies prior to surgery. Not now. I'm struggling to find a protein powder I like.

Trouble With Eggs Post-Op?
I have found a few things I liked before surgery, I don't like now. Eggs don't sit well with me yet either; I'm 4 weeks post surgery.

Straw Drinking?
My doctor told me NO STRAWS! Possibility of too much air getting sucked in & the ability to not gauge how much you are drinking.

7 Wks Post Op And Have Been On A Stall For A Couple Wks
I had surgery on April 9th and stalled 3 days ago. I was beginning to worry until I read these posts! I do record everything on my fitness pal but need to go back and look at the trends. I'm down 37 lbs.

How Far Out Were You Able To Have A Bite Of Your Faves
I'm 3 weeks post surgery & on puree. Friday I will be starting the soft food stage. This puree diet was rough. I can't wait to eat some seafood & chew something! How do I add the weight ticker at the bottom?

Protein
Spirotein vanilla is the protein powder that I loved prior to surgery. Post surgery, I can't stand it. Don't like the taste so much I can't get it down.
