  1. I eat 3tbsp part skim ricotta with a sprinkle of organic cinnamon raisin granola. I'm going to look for fat free this weekend. I still struggle with getting enough protein. I don't like the powders and most of the bars. I did find a few things this week that I like. K2O protein powder (from the makers of special K cereal) and Luna bars. Both available at WalMart!
  2. I love seafood, but not liking tuna since the surgery. I don't like chocolate pudding either & that was one of my favorites pre-op. Hamburgers are our also.
  3. My doctor advised me not to drink yet also, but I did it anyway. I'm 2 months post surgery & feeling good. If I want to have a glass of wine with my friends once in awhile, I will. 4oz wine + 4oz ice = Great!
  4. I was sleeved on April 9th and had my first glass of wine in months this past Saturday. I added a lot of ice to water it down & drank it slowly. (probably only had 4oz of wine & 4oz of water) After the first swallow went down I got this very unusual feeling in my stomach. It got very warm & I could feel where the wine was!
  5. I was sleeved on April 9th. It feels like I eat a lot, but I'm only consuming about 600 calories a day. If I eat about 1/4 cup of beans, I'm done. The other day I ate 3/4 of a thin pork chop with a spoonful of beans & a spoonful of applesauce. That was alot!
  6. None. I didn't puree a thing. I ate mashed potatoes, applesauce, peachsauce & drank Carnation instant breakfast shakes.
  7. Thanks for your menus! It really helps!
  8. I don't get hungry at all, but I do eat 6 times a day. I struggle to get all my protein and water in everyday. My next support group meeting is next tuesday, I really need to go get some help. I need menus!
  9. I struggle to get all the protein in every day. I don't eat many carbs; I think I'm only getting carbs from my beans.
  10. I am 9 weeks post op and could not eat eggs until yesterday & I only ate 4 small bites. I'm going to keep eggs limited until I know I'm good with them.
  11. I am 9 weeks post surgery & worry every day about what I'm eating. I'm not hungry, I should eat, did I eat the right thing, did I eat enough, did I eat too much, should I squeeze in a vegetable even though I'm full...When will this worry go away? What do you eat on an average day?
  12. I did drink more this weekend. I tried the straw a few times, but I really don't want any complications, so I'll drink from a glass without a straw for a little while longer. I NEED to go to my next nutrition class & support group. I want to hear what everyone else is eating!
  13. I found that warmer water went down better than room temp or cold water. I'm still struggling to get in all the water. My doctor again yesterday told me NO straws. I have used one, but didn't notice a difference with the amount of water I drank.
  14. I had 2 bad days. I thought I was getting the flu; I felt horrible. Went to my family doctor, laid on the exam table, tried to sit up, nearly fainted. I'm dehydrated & not eating enough. My surgeon wanted to put me in the hospital for IV fluids, but I promised to drink & eat more yesterday & today. He said if I'm not greatly improved my today, I'm in. Last night I ate & drank until I couldn't physically consume anything else. I'm better today. I can't go in the hospital, I have plans for this weekend!
  15. I started the straw yesterday, (I was too chicken to start earlier) and it appears okay. I was so dizzy & didn't feel good yesterday I went to my family doctor. It appears that I am dehydrated. So...I started the straw. Still dizzy this morning, but betterr.
  16. I started walking, but just added the bike two days ago. Going family doctor today, may have a UTI. I wonder if I can take pills now? Surgery was April 9th.
  17. I am 7 weeks post op & have noticed that my butt is sagging. Can I slow/stop this with leg exercises ?
  18. I wanted to polish my toe nails & tie my shoes. 7 weeks post op & guess what? I CAN!
  19. The sleeve is a great thing! I'm so glad I did it. I just had to stop & count how many weeks post surgery I am, because time is flying. I'm 7 weeks post surgery & feeling great. I'm sure you will be fine. No worries!
  20. What a wonderful blessing!
  21. Thanks for the protein bar idea. I'm just starting crunchy things this weekend, so I'll get some bars to carry with me.
  22. Best of luck & my prayers are with you.
  23. My doctor wants me to come back next week & I know he is going to order another sleep apnea test at the hospital. But, my mind is made up; I'm done. Not doing it. I stopped using the machine 2 weeks post op. I couldn't stand the feeling; it felt like it was blowing way to hard. Called the doc, they can only change the settings my the doctor's order & he wants to see me. So I stopped using it. My husband tells me I no longer snore & I feel good in the morning.
  24. Ok, you've sold me. I'll try the straw; but don't tell my doctor! My nutritional nurse made a point of no straws, too much air getting sucked in. I'll try today & let you know how it went.
  25. I'm just learning my full signal also. Mine is a uncomfortable feeling in the high chest area with burping. I need to learn to stop before that feeling!
