who is your coordinator with Dr. Garcia? Ask her if they can make some arrangements so that you can catch that flight. Also check with whoever you booked the flight with to see if you can make changes since it hasnt been long since you booked the flight... its worth a try!

I would definitely try to find a pcp closer to home or that knows a little bit about the procedure. I would also see if there is Bariatric surgeon that will be willing to check things out of there is a suspected problem. My pcp knows about the surgery and since I have Kaiser there are specialist there as well that are well versed on the procedure, however, my primary has already told me that if i get the surgery after Kaiser has already denied me (and they denied me twice) than any complications that may arise will not be covered. OK... thats fine...but who says they have to know I have it . I also have another dr within the same group that is not as strict on guidelines and is willing to take me on as a patient. I will just have to change over to him before going back into Kaiser for my follow up blood work I hope that you are able to find a pcp that is closer!

Our return flight leaves at 1040 am. My coordinator told me not to book anything before 10 am. I am sure they will get you back across the border in time for your flight!

Im still pre-op but started taking body by vi as another diet thingie... it does taste and smell like cake mix. Not sure if it is the protein that we need... but it is good. I used real fruit in mine and blended it with 2 percent milk... and it was very filling!!!!

My FMLA paperwork states 6-8 weeks. But I am a mail carrier and am not as fortunate to have a sit down job. So I am going to take a minimal of three weeks and then go from there. I know that alot of people say that they start to feel better quickly, but in my line of work, its best not to go back until you are 100 percent sure you can handle to the job

Who did you book your travel through. Some agencies have price assurance.... check on that you may can get a refund on the difference if the price remains the same during your particular week of travel

Thanks for creating this topic. I am not post sleeve yet but I already know that things are going to change. I am in a relationship now that I am not completely happy with and I know that alot of it has to do with my weight and self esteem issues. I stay because I dont feel like I am pretty enough to find someone else that is more affectionate and caring. I know that it sounds bad, but that is life, right? Post sleeve, I know that I regain the confidence that I used to have and I know that the feelings of resentment and loathing towards him will only increase. I have tried to prepare myself and him for the change, but I dont know that he totally gets it. I think that he is thinking that once the new me is here that I will have a new outlook on our relationship....but I dont think my new outlook will be the same as his new outlook... this sleeve is definitely going to be a life changing event in more ways than one... [ urgh and yay!!!

I think that I am going to try to at least eat sensible in that for the first week and then the week liquid diet. I realized that since I have set my date for surgery I have gained 3 lbs and goodness I don't want to push my BMi up those few notches in the next few weeks. Then I will have to do the 2 week pre op diet

I'm going down on 5/21 with my mother and having surgery on 5/22 and returning home on 5/26. I have checked out pictures and review of the hotel on tripadvisor.com. Just search for Tijuana Marriott!!!!! Most of the reviews are four star and up!!!

I second that...wonderful post. I already know that I have "friends" that are happy to see me stuffing my face... and I already wonder what will happen when those friends see the new me??????

Stoopsket57 who is performing your surgery? Mine is on the 21st with Dr. Garcia. But great advice from topgun. I dont plan on bulk purchasing anything until I know what I can stomach or stand....

Great great blog.... I am/was so in denial.... when I woke up and started accepting I saw myself for what I was... an unhealthy fat person.... times have changed and acceptance is *itch... a hard pill to swallow but definitely a must thank you for sharing that

I too had said that I was still going to do the two week diet... but then i just put it right out of my head immediately.... why torture myself.... pretty soon I wont be able or want to enjoy stuffing my face with all my favorites.... might as well get it in where I can fit it in now...
