  1. sounds like you are doing great...you are two weeks out, so you should be starting pureed food....look for the post with all the different foods that you can have....and just hang in there....
  2. I agree with all the banders...it is the most wonderful thing I have ever done for myself...I was banded in 4/6/07 and I have lost 37 lbs...I still have a long way to go, but at least the numbers on the scales are getting smaller....
  3. I just try to stay well hydrated...
  4. I was banded on Friday and I could have gone back to work the following week, but I was pretty sore...so I just took some extra days...
  5. Good for you...sounds like you have a plan....hang in there and just keep on trying...
  6. Congrats to all those that are to be banded....I am excited for all of you...I hope each and everyone of you has a speedy recovery....
  7. Take the liquid gas-x and just walk, walk, walk,....try sipping water and just hang in there...it will pass....(no pun intended)
  8. Bless your heart...honey, just hang in there...just keep on doing what you have to do and then it will all be over....I know this must be so frustrating....just hold on and look at what you will get for all your hard work...good luck...
  9. I took the liquid gas-x and it did wonders for me....
  10. Tina, I didn't have to go back on liquids for two weeks...I had to have liquids the day of fill and mushies the next day and then back to whatever I wanted...
  11. Honey, I was scared to death....I was a nervous wreck all the week before the fill and the morning of the fill I was almost sick....I walked in the room layed on the table and the doctor did numb the area and it is nothing.....you will hardly feel anything...after it was over, I was so relieved...I couldn't believe that I had gotten myself so worked up over this procedure and it turned out to be nothing....not all doctors numb the area, but mine did....it felt like a little bee sting...it really is not painful....or at least mine wasn't.....
  12. my doctor told my family that she used the smallest band there is...I have no idea what that means...
  13. Hi Aubrey, No, I am from Texarkana and I was a self pay...I paid $15,000.00 and had the band put on in a surgery center instead of hospital...it was $500.00 cheaper...If you have it done at the hospital it is day surgery and you go home the same day, so I decided to use the surgery center and pay less and still go home on same day...I went in for surgery around 9:00 a.m. and was home by 11:30 a.m......I even had a hernia repaired at the same time I had the band put on....
  14. Congrats on your upcoming surgery date...that is great...just a few more days...I hope you do well...Please post and let us know how you are doing....
  15. You have lots of swelling in your stomach after the surgery...and your throat may be swollen from the tube being put down it....taking a few sips of water at a time is recommended.....don't try to take more than just small sips of water or clear liquids....if after a few days this does not get easier I would call my doctor, but right now, I don't think you have anything to worry about...just continue to take little sips and swallow slowly...don't try to just drink normally...or gulp any liquid....you should be fine...
  16. Congrats on your weight loss and welcome to LBT....sounds like you are doing great....
  17. congrats on your banding...I remember being where you are...I was so excited to eat anything...I hated the broth...that just didn't set well with me....so I was so eager to eat pureed food....but I ended up just eating watery Soup, mostly tomato soup...You can have baby food, the fruit is really not bad...I would steer clear of the baby food meat...I hear that is not so good...or maybe eat some baby food veggies... Good luck to you and I hope you do well...
  18. Good luck to you....I hope your surgery goes well....please come back and post to let everyone know how you are doing....and congrats on your 11 lbs lost during pre-op....that is great....
  19. Welcome Kleta and Paula to LBT (Lap Band Talk)....This is a great site...I love coming here reading all the post....Everyone is really great at sharing their story and any info they have....If you have a question, just post it and someone will be able to answer it for you... I was banded on 4/6/07..first fill on 5/17/07 and second fill will be on 7/3/07...and Paula, you are so normal...I have had little restriction with the first fill...I continue to only eat a half a cup, sometimes I could eat more, but I refuse to eat more than my limited half cup....I do this with all three meals, no in between Snacks....I drink my Water and try to work out with my weights and steps.....I am not always good at that...I have lost 37 lbs.....I still have a ways to go, but I will make it... Again, welcome to the site....
  20. Welcome to LBT(Lap band talk)...I hope you will be banded soon....this is such an awesome site...everyone is really good to share their story and all the info they have..... I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 37 lbs...I go for second fill on 7/2/07.....I am very happy with the results...
  21. So glad that you are okay...congrats on your fills...that is great news...
  22. Helen, I wish you all the luck in the world....You will not be giving up food after the surgery, you will only be limited to how much you will eat...of course it is better when you make good choices on the foods you eat, but you will still be able to eat most foods...remember "nothing taste as good as being thin"... Please let us know how you are doing....
  23. Most Important Rule: Follow Your Doctors Orders...eat Only What You Are Supposed To Eat...if You Eat Solid Foods During Your Healing Stage ( First Five To Six Weeks) You Could Mess Up Your Band....not All Doctors Give The Same Post Op Diets...be Sure You Know What You Are Supposed To Have To Eat For The First Six Weeks....and Don't Eat Anything That He Doesn't Say You Can Eat....
  24. Bless your heart...this to shall pass....I would find another surgeon and I would get the date set-up and go for it....
  25. Move on with your life....May your life what you want it to be....The kids will come back, just don't sit at home waiting on them...get out there and live your life and enjoy it...spend time with this new boyfriend...
