Couch to 5K - Week of 14 ? 20 October
Well my second "run" seemed much easier than the first. I had no problem with the running-but of course I was not going real fast. Usually I walk, hike or do yoga everyday, so I will continue to do those activities on off days. I think I will start taking glucosamine-chondroitin supplements again. I think I will go through the first two weeks, then I will get myself some nice shoes. My butt is fine today! (TMI?):heh:

Couch to 5K - Week of 14 ? 20 October
Anyone have suggestions or recommendations for running shoes. I have a pair of Nikes but the are getting old. I have looked at some, but cringe at the price. Guess it is worth it though if they prevent an injury!:hurt

Prescription Medication and how to take it?
I take 6 pills a day and have had no problem getting them down. I have decent restriction at this time.

Couch to 5K - Week of 14 ? 20 October
Anyone else have a sore butt. Had to skip yoga this am, but went on a leisurely hike instead. Not sure if I will C to 5k again tomorrow or Tuesday. Have to see how an afternoon appointment plays out. It sucks that it is getting dark so early!!!:Banane10:

pain in stomach
All three, the meat tenderizer, the papaya pills and pineapple juice all contain enzymes that break down protein.

couch to 5k
I just came back from doing a week one "run". Thought I was going to have to give up a few times, but I made it!. I think I will try this and see how it works. I read about Couch to 5K, about a month ago, but it was too hard to do the timing without the podcast. It is awesome this guy has done this for everybody! How can you tell how fast you run? I have a heartbeat monitor watch that figures my calories, but not my mph. Thanks for starting this and getting me going.:faint:

I feel aweful
You may be experiencing ketosis-Which is common at the beginning of any low carb diet. For me the worst is the headache. It does pass.

Post-op diet
I have read many sources of info, but I have NEVER heard not to eat jello!

Goodbye, it's been a slice, but I hope I never see you again....
Hooray for you-Isn't it great to hit a milestone. I hit my halfway point today and it feels great!

Emergen-C / Alka Seltzer ok to drink?
I don't see why it would be any different than soda-perhaps even a bit more fizzy-I would not chance it.

Need advice
HI Sunny- I remember you from the lucky sevens. Sorry nto see you are having a hard time. I think that you are too tight, not a lot too tight, but you need to be able to eat some solid protein foods. My doc says a half cup per sitting. It takes me 20-30 minutes to eat this. I know I am fell when I get the hiccups. It sounds like a visit to your doc is needed before you get too frustrated. Best of luck!

Should I try a diet one more time? Did anyone else feel this way?
Start your diet now. Start your lap band process now. In a few months you can make either choice. You can always just not get the lapband, if the diet works out.

Post Op Pain PILLS?
I was also given vicodin tablets. I had no problem with them.
-
Has anyone else been given these same rules?
My doc sounds much like yours. No preop diet and then liquids for a week, then mushies and then regular food. I have had no problems.

The Civil War inside me...
The gas leaves the abdominal cavity by a process called diffusion. The co2 simply moves from areas of high concentration to low concentration, eventually working it way out. Can you tell I teach anatomy????

Burping???
I am two months out and am constantly burping. I hear this from many people. I wouldn't worry. Just one of the things we need to get used to!

Increased Burping??
At 2 months post-op, I am still burping and farting up a storm. I hope this doesn't last, socially awkward and all. Gas-x is still my good friend.

wow..this is weird!!
Hiccups occur when the diaphrgm is irritated. The band was installed very close to the diaphragm. Also it makes sense that when you pouch gets full it may put pressure on the diaphragm. I think this happens to most of us. Glad you love your band!

During surgery, is it mandatory.....
I didn't even realize I had them on until they went to take them off!
-
Has anyone else experienced this post op?
I find that If I gulp water I get a lot of gas. I try to burp frequently when i drink. Of course this does not work in many places so the gas moves on through. Gas x is a life saver. If you can get it out as a burp you will be much more comfortable later!

port ?
You can see the scar and feel it if you push at the spot. It feels wierd! Some people say that after a big loss that they can see it sticking out a little. Some have it replaced with a low profile port if this happens.
