  1. I got told 4 months, not that it matters, because I live in a dry country, but looking forward to some Italian wine when we go on our summer vacation in July!!!
  2. Congratulations!!!
  3. Good luck to you! You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

  5. Congratulations!!! That is amazing!!!
  6. I was sleeved 20 Feb 2012. Started my journey at 293 pounds and as of thus morning, I weigh 243 pounds- that's exactly 50 pounds!!!!
  7. I am only a third of the way to goal, but thought I would add my LBD pic. We got all dolled up for the South African freedom day celebrations hosted by our embassy here in Kuwait.
  8. Tears of joy!!!! Because for the first time in about 10 years, my blood pressure was normal!!! And not the high side of normal, but textbook normal ( what my nurse said)! To make my day even better, I have lost a total of 48pounds since day of surgery! That means I am a third of my way to goal!! Now I have to seriously start thinking about getting active and joining a gym! So, while I raise my Protein shake to all my sleeve brothers and sisters, I say thanks for the advice and support you so freely dispense, and the motivation to keep on rocking my sleeve!!!!
  9. I had no pre-op diet. I was just told to have a light dinner the night before and stop eating at 22:00.
  10. What an inspirational story!! Thank you for sharing and you look gorgeous and happy!!

  14. Hi Smoggy! I am counting the days for my 1 month post op check up! According to my scale I have lost about 14kg in total, it slowed down a lot after the first week, but as long as the scale keeps moving downwards, I am happy!! I am back to living a normal life, although I am eating a very small amount of soft foods! Thank you for asking, how are you doing?
  15. I had two start drinking protein shakes twice a day at 1 week post op. at 2 weeks post op it went down to once a day, because I could start eating proteins ( that went through a blender.
  16. I also have a very busy two year old, my husband went back to work the day after I got out of the hospital, so it was just the two of us. We took it easy, changed diapers and got dressed on the floor, drew pictures and read stories and if I was very tired I put the television on for her and I would lie on the couch! For afternoon naps, she thought she was in heaven, napping with mommy in mommy's bed! At night my husband was home so he could do the heavy lifting needed for bath time and put her in her crib for the night and in the mornings before he left for work, he would bring her to me in my bed for an early morning cuddle! I was sleeved on 20 Feb 2012 and resumed full mommy duties about 1,5 weeks post-op.
  17. I think it depends on the doctor, I didn't have a pre-op diet either.
  18. I watch Gok's Fashion Fix for inspiration for when I have to redo my wardrobe!
  19. Wow!!! You look awesome!!!
  20. I bake cookies and cupcakes and cakes, for friends and family! I know it is weird for someone who had WLS, but if I bake it, I don't feel like eating it!
  21. WOW!!!! You look great!!! Thanks for sharing your pics and tips!!!
  22. At first I told my husband and my close family that I was thinking of doing it, and when it was done, I posted it on Facebook! When I was doing my research I was looking for people who could share their experiences with me ( before I found this board) and if everybody knows I did it and they have questions about the surgery, then they know I am approachable to answer their questions!
  23. Smoggy, I went through the bariatric surgery unit at Royal Hayat hospital here in Kuwait. Dr Osama did my surgery, but I have met the whole team and they are all very good! I am very happy with my experience so far and have lost about 12 kg ( will know officially tomorrow, as I will have my 2 week post op check up)!
