my doctor does not ask me pre operative for any thing except invistigations

I think it depends on the doctor, I didn't have a pre-op diet either.

The purpose is to shrink the liver since it lays on top of the stomach. This makes the surgery easier for the surgeon. It also allows you to get used to the liquid diet you will be on after surgery.

Not to mention that it also cleans thing out of your system so your stomach wont contain food during surgery.

so according to all these reasona apreoperative diet is a very useful method + it probaply make us loosing weight before sleeve

so yes for preoperative diet.....
