    Completely Bummed!

sometimes it also depends on if you are a heavyweight or lightweight. the two lose at different rates. I'm a lightweight I started at 200 lbs..I've lost 40 in a little over 3 months. 30 in the first two then slowed down. I averaging 2.5 a week give or take. I haven't really stuck to a planned diet..I just eat what my stomach allows. I would probably do better if I exercised but it's been too hot to walk and I have a physical job so I'm usually too tired by the time I get home. Just hang in there sometimes it looks like the scale isn't moving then all of a sudden you weigh yourself and youv'e drop pounds. Just don't weigh everyday or compare yourself to others.... we all lose at different rates depending on size, diet, environment.etc.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

3 months as of the 9th and have lost 40lbs. Even for being a lightweight I think that's great. But the hair loss has me kinda scared. I have thin hair to being with but now I'm afraid I will be bald very so at the rate I'm going. My mom is having the sleeve surgery next month if all goes well and she was looking into reasons for hair loss and she said something about lack of peptide or something ( in what left of the stomach) that prevenst the proper absorbtion of protein causing hair loss. I will try to find more info on this. She said she ordered some supplement or something that's supposed to help the body more of the protein we need.

    My Assets!

I'm 6 weeks out and 25lbs down and I can feel and see a difference in my "blobs" and butt already. I am technically still a 42c. I have always been chesty.. went I was 20 and 119lbs I was a 36c and size 3-5. I'm hoping when I reach goal that I won't lose everything but who knows. I will probably need a boob lift at least as for my butt I don't know time will tell.

    Can I Eat?

If the tuna works go for it but add some lube to it like mayo or something. I'm six weeks out and at 4 1/2-5 weeks tuna did not sit well and I haven't tried again. Layered taco dip is my go to ff refried beans, sour cream, cheese, a little salsa, all good for you. At three weeks unless ok'd by your dr. you should still be on purees and mushies. Be careful... I know your hungry or (think you are) which is my issue. But move slow cuz the consequences can be uncomfortable.

    Surgery Date May 29Th

Yah know I was scared before surgery but the day of a strange sort of calmness came over me. The first few days are gonna suck, make sure you have a good support system in place. Drink as much as you can but don't worry about getting the 64ozs they say your suppose to have that will come in time. I'm almost 6 weeks out and only get in 20 or 30 but my doc isn't worried. Take your pain meds when you need them (don't try and tuff it out) the less pain your in the move you feel like getting up and moving which is important (it will make you heal faster and get the gas out!!!) plus the meds will relax you to rest which is also important. All the post and people say walk, sip, rest. follow those words of advise. Some people feel great sooner than others.. don't stress it's not good for. You can ask literally anything here.o don't be afraid to. Good Luck

    Any Advice

Diners, drive-ins, and dives is my food porn! I love to watch it. But Since I'm such a picky eater I know I would never eat most of that stuff. Plus that would require alot of traveling.
  7. Does anybody have any recommendations for scar treatments? I have very fair skin and scar easily. i.e. I broke my ankle in three places 2 years ago and have a horrible scar on both sides of my ankle from surgery. I was kind of hoping to avoid nasty scars on my belly. I may want to wear a midriff or bikini top someday. Also ...Does anyone know how 6 weeks out incisions react to tanning or bronzers?

    6 Days Out

Give yourself a chance. Most people don't weigh themselves the first week because of stuff like weigh gain while being in the hospital hooked up to an IV. I would just relax. Don't stress yourself out and wait another week or so before looking at the scale.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I am one month post-op and I've never really been a liquids person...meaning I've never really drank alot of liquids or really been thirsty until I'm really hot and want to guzzle something. So my problem is that I can't get my fluids in. I'm doing good to get in maybe 20 ozs a day because I'm just not thirsty or I forget cuz I'm not use to drinking so much but I don't feel dehydrated or anything. And eating is another problem I am a very picky eater and am having trouble finding food I like that I'm supposed to eat and feels good in my stomach. It's crazy.... one day last week my mother-in-law was fixing pizzas and chili dogs and was fretting about what was I going to eat. So to calm her worries I mushed up a whole Nathan's hotdog and eat it very slowly and it went down fine no pain or anything but a few days later I try to eat tuna salad and could hardly get down more than a couple bites and they sat in my stomach like a lead brick for hours and the scrambled egg I had last week did the same thing and gave me heartburn? Now somebody please tell me why is that the stuff I shouldn't eat works but the I'm supposed to isn't? I getting very upset with things as they are going now..I can't eat or drink but I don't feel bad or sick. I've lost 20lbs from pre-op diet to now. Dr says just keep trying to get my liquids and my eating will progress when my stomach is ready. Right now I'm craving bad bad things and don't know how much longer I can't hold out. HELP!

    Hair Dye

I was told no nail polish during surgery but since i have overlays on my real nails they said french manicure was ok. Cuz the oxygen meter can read thru the clear polish.
  11. I was sleeved on April 9th. I still hurt across my abdominal area like I've been kicked.. I can barely bend over most the time or get up and down from the couch or bed without pain and strain. Plus I not sure about my puree intake. 2.5 oz of food takes forever to get down and every bite feels like it gets stuck a little on the way down or kinda crampy feeling at the beginning of my stomach. Is this normal? And the spot where they took out my drain Monday is extremly tender. Am I just a wimp or has anyone else had these problems?

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Started day 2 of liquid pre-op diet. I'm hungry yet I'm not. I have head hunger more than anything. I've tried a few different brands of protein and Designer Whey I got at Trader Joes is the best so far. Did my pre admin stuff yesterday and had my last follow-up with the Dr. this morning before surgery April 9th. Clock is ticking ..... less than 2 weeks to go.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I'm scheduled for April 9th.... I'm trying to get ready. Trying not to drag my heels as this is my last week of real eating..AKA food funerals..saying goodbye to the bad stuff like Cheesecake Factory's Carbonara ....and all you can eat crablegs I get my moments when I get a little scared. Hoping that I don't do this and still not lose weight like I heard some bloggers say. Since it's irreversable. Next monday I start my all liquid 2 week pre-surgery diet. I hope I don't fail. I'm afriad I'm going to get so hungry and feel like crap because I'm going thru caffiene withdrawal and try to work those two weeks feeling hungry and headachy.
