I gained weight when I got home from the hospital. Don't worry. It'll all fall off. It's still the fluid from your IV's.

    Nsvs At Reastaurants!

Eating out has always been a big part of my life. So last week I had dinner with friends. I ordered salmon over spinach. I could only eat about 4 small bites of salmon. I chewed super slow......cut up a few more bites and played w my food while everyone else ate. Ate a little spinach. Didn't even miss not having wine.

    Medical Bracelets

Mine reads that I'm allergic to penicillin and give my specific heart defect.
  6. I suggest Isopure from GNC. My favorite thing was beef broth. It felt so good going down. Also SF Jell-O was tasty. Don't go crazy buying stuff cuz you can hardly eat! Oh, and bottled Smart water. Herbal tea.
  7. Try applesauce w Greek yogurt and cinnamon. Also, scrabble an egg w a T. of cottage cheese. Those are great ways to preceed meat. Also soups.

    Protein Is Such A Pain!

This was so helpful to me! When I drank Isopure before surgery, I didn't mind the taste. After surgery, I hated it and could only drink 1-2 ozs. at a time. Well, tonight I opened one and drank half of it. I'll save the rest for tomorrow.....they are just so dang sweet. I'm encouraged that I'll start picking up my protein intake. Thanks again for everyone's advice here.

I've Eaten Out Twice This Weekend...

I've starting week 4 and I ate out twice this week. It was fun to do something that I love! Thursday night we went out for Mexican food. I ordered a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup. I barely ate a quarter of it and two spoonfuls of my daughters refried beans and I was full. I brought it home and nursed it for a couple of hours till it was gone. Then tonight I had salmon. I ate about 2 oz. and brought the rest home. It didn't bother me at all not ordering a Margarita or wine. It's funny how I look at food now. When with girlfriends tonight, I did play w my food and move it around on the plate so it didn't look like I wasn't eating.
  21. Cheri, Did your hair fall out? That's what I worry about. I'm starting my 4th week and my protein intake is about 45 grams a day.

    Would You Have Done It?

Minnie, Can you elaborate on why you feel the way you do? I was sleeved just last Feb 6th. Every day I feel more alive than I have in many years. I had no health issues, other than born w a heart defect. I felt breathless a lot. That seems even better. I did surgery because I was hating myself for being so out of control. I wanted to get my life back. I am so sorry for any one who has had problems. Life is hard enought, right? Right now, I'm doing great and hope problems stay away from me!
